  • Hi Livvidd.

The best thing to do is contact your local model yacht club and ask them what modifications they allow on the Victoria.

In our club virtually any modifications are accepted at a local level.

There are carbon fibre masts, rudders and fins - there is one yacht

I know of that has its mast moved. Many owners make there own sails.

Most boat owners will show off their modificatons, and even advise you on what works,

    and what doesn't !

  • What mods are usually permitted by race clubs? For example I want to play around with the shape, length and thickness of the rudder. change the mast here and there. lengthen the keel as to reduce ballast and that sort of thing. I just got into the hobby and I'm messing around with a couple of 1M Hurricane's and would love your input.

  • Thanks, much appreciated

  • Nice filming.

  • i will try... thanks!

  • Where I live, there is no model yacht club... WHAT DO I DO?????

  • @ChipMunkyou2 Hi,

Contact a club and explain that you would apreciate advice about building a large model yacht.

They can advise you -there are some very good kits available.

They may also know of others who sail model yachts and live near to you.

    good luck !!

    Hi Bob,

The video shows the model yacht "Victoria" which is very popular here.

It's also not too expensive to buy..

I haven't sailed a Triumph and Century, so can't suggest which is best for you.

If you like competing against others, why not find your local model yacht club and pay them a visit. They will help advise you, and probably let you try one of their yachts before you lay out any money.

    Cheers

    Eric

  • Very nice!! What camera were you using for the "on the water" shots?

  • Hi K1Modela,

    Glad you like the videoes.

The camera used was a Casio EX Z600

set to the highest quality video mode (VGA)

I upgraded the firmware so that it

works with 8Gb of SD Ram.-

this means it can record for nearly 2 hours!!

    best regards
