  • I was diagnosed with OCD after 2 surgeries and around 2 years waiting time, being told that i would never have what is considered a 'normal' elbow. Being a 19 year old active Male this is somewhat of a blow. As i was waiting for my second operation review I was surrounded by patients with much more severe and life changing injuries. These things happen in life and you have to deal with them, it can change your whole outlook on life and i'm thankful im just otherwise healthy. Keep positive!

  • i was just diagnosed with OCD of left knee, my knee is locked and almost contracted for three weeks now. mine is at the stage where they have to either replace my knee or put i a large plug of transplant bone. The Dr doing it says he has never seen a hole so big in a knee and it will be his first time doing the surgery. I am freaking out right now. I have surgery in about two weeks.

  • about a year and a half ago i got it in my elbow from baseball and i still cant straighten my elbow ohh and i went back into baseball a couple months l8r

  • i developed a pain in my knee when i was 14 from skateboarding. at 15 i piece of bone broke off about the size of a quarter and i was diagnosed with Osteochondritis Dissecans (right knee). i was in such agony after the surgery from the screws i never want surgery again. i was told i would most likely need surgery again in 10 years, i am now 23. i play soccer now and quit the skateboarding after the injury and im hoping it will be another 10 years from now if i need another surgery.

  • i was just dianosed this in my left knee on friday...

  • I have this in my right elbow and I had to quit gymnastics two days before my first meet. I miss it so much and I can't go back. I wish it was back to normal. If u get the surgery does it go back to normal because that would be absolutely amazing because I had to quit y favorite thing ;(

  • awesome verse at the end. i am dealing with this because of playing basketball. i have a scholarship and the doctor seems to be optimistic about the how my surgery went but i hope and pray that i will be able to play but if not that i will be able to handle the situation with a christ like attitude if i can't.

  • I was diagnosed with this almost two years ago, I had surgery on my left knee last year, I couldn't walm for around 4 or 5 monts but I still have pain; drs told me I need another surgery in the same knee cuz some how there's another loose body in there which is causing the pain...I had Osteochondritis for around 10 yrs but I don't play any sports just the normal activities of an average person. Right now Im 22 yrs old and well I just hope my knee gets fixed cuz the pain is terrible.

  • i've had this since high school and just now found out about it since i never played sports. i'm 24 and the doctor said i don't need surgery now but later i will. part of my bone is dead, is what he told me, i go back to see him in a month.

  • Hey, uh if you have surgery does it just go back to normal, or does it not work that way? I have Osteochondritis in my left elbow from doing Gymnastics, and I would love for my elbow to go back to how it used to be :'(

  • @lileichina96 i had the surgery and was told to never play sports again, so i didnt for the first 3 years. when i started playing again i had discomfort but it actually strengthened the muscles and i think it helps favor the bone. in cold weather it hurts im always favoring my right knee and adapted to the pain. it will never be the same but if you love what you do try and adapt to the situation.

  • i had this in my right elbow from pitcing in baseball. i played through 3 years of pain before finally going to a doctor to get it checked out. i had the surgery 4 months ago and i'm doing physical therapy now. i'm gonna miss wrestling season this year but the doctors say i'll be back for baseball

  • @footballhead90210 I have it and im gonna miss my whole baseball season :(

  • retard doctors , i had pains since i was 17 biatches were saying that i have growing pains ,now that i'm 22 i went to the doctors and i refused to take a shit answer...and well i have this and will get surgery in 1 or 2 months

  • @manabog same thing here dude, i play football and have knee pain and the team doctor told me the same thing, i went to another doctor for an appointment and he said i have this, it pisses me off that i have been playing through this all season nearly everyday

  • @pdub673 yea man i play soccer too and sometimes i could play fine but other times it was impossible ,even when it did not hurt i was hesitant because in the back of my mind i was afraid of the pain, btw how is your pain ,mine is a sharp stinging pain?

  • You don't realize what you got till its gone. it sucks especially when you learn it through this kind of experience.

  • I have it too in my right elbow. Hurts sooo bad, had surgery its a lot better. I am thankful for a better arm. It still hurts but not like before For all those who don't have OCD be moderate with exercise because its not worth it! Completely changed my whole life dramatically. I was top ranked in Swimming national and now i can't ever play the sport again competitively. The locking was the worst i did not like that at all. anyone know what i mean with the locking?

  • @stratocaster4412 Yep, I know what you mean

  • Hi guys,

I had surgery done on my left knee and was wondering if anyone experience swelling behind the knee or limitations with step ups etc...

  • i had this, the pain & swelling went away when i started taking fish oil.

  • no one cares :)

Also, it was obvious that you were ten judging by the way you fight and spell.

  • I was have this and i only need to stay out of sports for 6 weeks, i couldnt even imagine 6 months let alone 6 years

  • my son has had sore knees for years now dr's kept saying growing pains, even got x-ray 1yr ago & they didn't see.had another x-ray yesterday & diagnosed 2day. I don't understand. He can't play sport coz his knees have hurt so long. he is now 13. Australian doctors are getting so bad, actually they are indian or asian here now. Not that race should matter just that they are usually new here on student visas & not very experienced.

  • i was diagnosed with this in my right elbow when i was 10 from playing baseball. found out a quite a bit late because the doctors thought it was tendonitis at first, so it got pretty bad. had two surgeries when i was 10/11, lost about 30 degrees range of motion and 10 years later, it hurts sometimes to write, let alone lifting or throwing. sooo for you guys that caught it early, take it VERY SERIOUSLY!

  • i just got this like 4 months ago the pain is to much i cant even kick a soccer ball...i was goona play varsity this and its my senior year

  • i was told i had this the other day by a nurse, there was no x ray, but i dislocated my patella last summer, and they reckon i have this now, but i have id no xray since i dislocated my patella??

  • I have this... doctor says no sport for a year?

Why are you all saying 6 years!!? oh shit

  • I've had my second knee arthroscopy done last february. They made microfractures and it's been so far, so good.

For the first time in my life I can run pain free!

Also, why do you quote something about god?

  • u would think these days that they can fix this condition pretty easily, stem cell research could really help stop the pain of all this shit, i cant remember what it was like to have normal fucking knees

  • wow elbows aswell, that sux man, i have it in both knees, had the left knee grafted already a few years ago, having the right one done in about 3months time, the worst thing about having the op the second time is knowing what ur in for with the pain and time of recovery, couldnt imagine having my elbows done to, feel for ya:(

  • This was the worst surgery I ever had..not only is it painful but the recovery time was about a year

  • i had the op in 2001 and its only been bout a year since i havent had the fukn thing fill up with fluid, but still get it locking up, worst fukn surgery ever, just bad luck hey

  • hey i just went to my doctor and he said i had this and i am getting surgery i november

  • I have this in my elbow. The main injury occured in '98, had an MRI and they didn't find anything although my elbow had grinding, popping noises and lack of motion. I'm pissed at those idiots and that I didn't get it taken care of then. Now today it hurts and still grinds and pops and my whole right arm is weaker and I'm only 26. I have no health insurance and don't know what to do. I need the bone bits out or this will only get worse.

  • I've also got this in my knee! I can't straighten it, which sucks. I hate this OCD so much- mine came to light *literally* five minutes before a job interview! Pain... I can't believe it happened when it did. I've not had any surgery yet (just gave my permission to be put on the waiting list today) so decided to look it up on YouTube for some education on the subject.

THANK YOU so much for posting this video- it's awesome to see sort of what the surgeon will see. Hope your elbow is doing well.

  • did u have the surgery yet?? if u have then u now know what real pain is, how is it now? mine took nearly 6 years to come good....

  • I had it a while ago, coming up to a year. I needed 6 months of physio to get my leg muscles back. It's a lot better now, thanks for asking!! It's only been recently that I've been back to walking normally, but my knee does still ache on occasion.

The pain was nasty. I have to say though, nothing has ever quite paralleled the pain from when it actually happened. That was something else!!!

Best of luck for your upcoming op if you've not already had it. Hope you have a better recovery this time.

  • yo man i had this EXACT same thing in my knees, i have two OCD lesions in my left and right knee, and had surgery on both knees, and next tuesday i go in for my left knee again, man i feel you pain. First two years of high school soccer were torture and then had to miss my junior year of football. good luck with all your elbow and keep it up. i feel your pain man
