I don't own an Akita but It's the only breed I won't to own, I think as long as your firm and consistant with your dog the fact its your first souldn't be too much of a problem. I'm planning on getting one when my dad retiers in a few years so he can have it during the day when i'm at work.
They are very nice dogs, i might be getting an akita and i hear that u have to be an experianced owner, seen as ive never had a dog before do u think i should get this as my first??
@WARRIORMPG786 Don't worry about this so called "Dominant Complex". You just have to dedicate a good time with them, they're very smart dogs. And as long as you are more dominant than him it's fine, but you have to do it since his a puppy, my dog and my first one is an akita, I don't have any problems with him, just don't let him do things his way. You can't be weak minded with this kind of dog.

no , they require alot of experience because of their Dominant complex , they'r stubborn and will walk over you if you dont have experience .
