Iced Fucking Earth, estará de vuelta en nuestro país después de dos años, la legendaria banda norteamericana de Thrash, Heavy y Power Metal se presentará el próximo 19 de Marzo en el mismísimo Circo Volador,
Dude, Iced Earth kicked ass with Ripper Owens. Replacement singers always get the boot when the original wants to stroll back in...Ripper got canned twice, once before with Preist...
I think this song has a definite double meaning, since it was written and produced at a time in our country when so many were mindlessly following another "George" and believing his lies. I believe the awakening of the masses is symbolic of a hope for a true Awakening of the American public at the time.
to the people below. this video is not bad in any way. if you get the message in the video it doesnt matter what it looks like as long as it gets the message out.
@existentialanxieties Thats why i love my fuckin country man we better then all the res... the strong survive and prosper while the weak die and suffer.. And for this country as a marine i will fight for this country even if it means death..
Tim Ripper sung real well with Iced Earth. This is my fav song he sings with them. Barlow sang this song the other night real well also. It be real cool if Iced Were tot our and have a few songs sang by Ripper. I do not care what anyone says i like Charred Walls. Better than the crap put out by fake pop acts. Iced Earth is hands down best freakin band out!
Need to go back to the Bible... Look at the acient roads and walk through it..... Wisdom holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. -Proverbs 2:7-8
This song is Epic I wish every band was this patriotic in some way. I wonder if Obama has ever heard of the Declaration of Independence. GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH!!!!!!! EPIC.....................
@kramerguitarist Yea, only thing that i think should stay close to the same is our military... it needs to be recruiting and ever prepared aside from that, throw it all out right a new constitution appoint someone who knows what they are doing and let it go

Ow yeah, we were dumm for believing them, but who cares for us, nobody, and no one had judge against them before and after, cuz justice is'nt for all, it's for rich people only. Damn them.
@jbabiuch no obama is a horrible example of this song so would be bush as with most presidents of the 20th century...only one alive now that represents this song at all is Ron Paul.
@Wykydtron131 yea you are right. from that side of the coin. the other side is a man telling everyone to think like him, eat like him, hell probably even shit like him. and that man is obama. ill break it down for you simpler. the weird eddy looking dude leading the masses is obama. the "villian". ron paul the "hero" taking the side of the ppl. if you cant understand that then i guess a child was left behind. lol hahahahahha
what the fuck ...why are people so fucking stupid.... do they not know that the fucking elections were in 08 ...dumb fucks..this video was made before then ....fuck
Bush wasn't the problem, the problem was people living way outside their means. saddest thing I ever saw was a homeless guy with a tricked out blackberry. The whole country's priorities are messed up. that said, Bush encouraged all americans to spend like there's no tomorrow (especially after 9/11) and Obama is trying to get us to do the same thing. The two of them aren't all that different.
and you realize, the economy has been going down since bush, right? and it's finally changing, hmmm, idk about you but I think obama fucked something up way worse, since things have finally leveled out since bush buttfucked the country
actually it is about the Declaration of independence but it's also about Tyranny in general at least the way i see it anyway Tyranny will always prevail unless you put your foot down or in this case make your Declaration.
So you purposely wrote literate as opposed to illiterate when trying to insult someone. Seriously, when trying to insult someone on the internet for poor grammar skills, make sure to proof-read your own post. P.S. this song was written during Bushes presidency Obama hadn't even won the nomination at this point. But of course pretend it's about him. Just like the economic recession that Bush and the republicans got us into is actually Obama's fault. To save you an insult, I hate both parties.
If i remember correctly, Obama served in the Senate when the financial meltdown occurred.. and did he vote to reign in frannie and freddie? Actually, no he didn't. He's just as responsible as everyone else that was in office at that time.
I swear, I've watched this vid a couple of times now, and although it was of course made years ago, this is EXACTLY what is happening today.
The Obama Zombies for example.
Obviously the song was written about the fight of the colonies to free themselves from oppressive rule and taxation, but I mean really, this is exactly what's happening today.
An old man driving to bars on his motorcycle? That's all they made out of this song? Kind of disappointing, to say the least... what does that have to do with the song at all?
I've been asking that question for the past two years now. This video seems to be an Iced Earth rendering of "They Live" rather than the American Revolution.
Presently, Ripper is one of the "top 10" metal vocalists i.m.o ... It just happened that he sung for great bands which came after glorious decades but were not in their prime anymore ...
tim is good in his own way and matt is just as good in his own way.
i personally don't believe anyone sucks when it comes to music, but there's loads of sit i don't like (eg: simple plan) but they are talented in their own way , just not a way that i happen to dig:)
The Ancient Egyptians brewed beer. This is not an American invention. One rock video does not depict all Americans in a lifestyle we are accoustomed to. We do many things as evidenced by our international footprint.
While I fully understand why you would fail to comprehend the sublime humour of my comment (hint: watch the video), I am a bit sad you took that as an insult. *tear*
But rest assured, I am well aware that Americans don't know much about brewing beer. :)
Correction, American breweries don't know much about brewing beer. However many Americans micro brew some pretty fantastic beers. The problem is that American Breweries have to conform to what is going to mass sell. However, we still have Sam Adams, Boulevard, etc...
The notion that any country is above vices is also pretty ignorant. Not necessarily implying that is you, or mykol13v, but the conversation was headed there.

They dont want you to know it...but Thomas Jefferson...one who also signed the Declaration of Independence...said that we should have a revolution at least once every 10 years....if true that would prob fix things
Jefferson didn't just sign the Declaration, but he wrote the original draft, which was then molded into the Declaration we signed in 1776. Jefferson also, being a deist, tore pages out of the bible that he didn't agree with. Does that mean we should do that aswell?
Don't forget the slaves man. Dude's probably a rapist too so while we're revolting lets rape and enslave. It's ok Tommy Jeff said so. I heard about it in an email forward.
Heres my take on the whole Ripper vs. Barlow thing...there both great singers in very different ways...the old Barlow stuff is all great (especially the original Someting Wicked)...but IMO Glorious Burden was probably IE's second best album, Ripper brought a new life to the band when he came in and he has qualities that Barlow certainly doesnt have. I'm not to keen on either of the new Something Wicked albums...imo Glorious Burden was the last great IE album....
ohhh you have to look at it from both sides. heres my opinion and i think its fair. i LOVE both singers. i think matt is a better ICED EARTH singer. i think matt is the best in iced earth and is better than ripper in iced earth. but in terms of vocal range and just plain singing i think ripper blows him out of the water
So true man. I think it's because of the personal bias that each hardcore Iced earth fan has, towards the loyalty of Matt to the band all these years.....
not sure if he was a bigot, all i know is that he was the singer on their title cd and that he had a short stint with a band of former iced earth members known as unearthed (not to be confused with unearth)
What an awesome song, truly great. And it is about the american reveloution, it even says on the iced earth website on the description of the glorius burden CD " In between, there is the American Revolution ("Declaration Day", "Valley Forge"), "

Wuts wrong with ripper on this album? I think he did fine with Iced earth.

Just minimize the window - listen to the song and you don't have to watch the video. :)

i am not an iced earth fan and i havent heared all of their discography but i dont think matt's vocal will be better on that song...
pupissp 3 years ago
Uh, Matt's wayyyy better then Tim. And I'm glad that they're gonna re-record Framing Armageddon with Matt's vocals. Can't wait for that one.

Barlow's good and all, but I prefer Ripper, there's a sharp edge to his voice that not many other singers have.

I love icead earth cause of theire unique sounds.
This could be a demons and wizards song.

No way.

the best iced earth album in my opinion.
never turn your back on THE RIPPER!

I'm not to keen on either of the new Something Wicked albums...imo Glorious Burden was the last great IE album....
tehriverdragon7129 3 years ago
Best song on Glorious Burden. It's a lot better though if you listen to the Star Spangled Banner track first, as it flows into this one.
Atoutlem0nde 3 years ago
Hell Yeah! Why do the new cd's not have the Star Spangled Banner on it... or the ending either? That's Bullshit!

ADHEMIROS 3 years ago
ohhh you have to look at it from both sides. heres my opinion and i think its fair. i LOVE both singers. i think matt is a better ICED EARTH singer. i think matt is the best in iced earth and is better than ripper in iced earth. but in terms of vocal range and just plain singing i think ripper blows him out of the water
solonaviavenger 3 years ago 5
Yeah, both of them kick ass.

So true man. I think it's because of the personal bias that each hardcore Iced earth fan has, towards the loyalty of Matt to the band all these years.....
alexsamuraiuuu 3 years ago
it will never happen cause for RIPPER Iced Earth was just a paycheck
and his presence on stage live suck !!!!

personally i think gene adams was the best singer iced earth had
shempjr1 3 years ago
Wasn't he the bigot?
destructicon500 3 years ago
not sure if he was a bigot, all i know is that he was the singer on their title cd and that he had a short stint with a band of former iced earth members known as unearthed (not to be confused with unearth)
shempjr1 3 years ago
No that was John Greely on NOTS
icemilitia 3 years ago
PERSONALLY, that's a fact...
But lots of fans agree (that includes me) what Matthew Barllow is the fucking best singer for Iced Earth.

What an awesome song, truly great. And it is about the american reveloution, it even says on the iced earth website on the description of the glorius burden CD " In between, there is the American Revolution ("Declaration Day", "Valley Forge"), "
raffj002 3 years ago
As if this song wasn't awesome enough already, the video has freakin' stop-motion animation in it of the band's mascot. Freaking EPIC.
