OR, a much easier way, just stand in one spot and keep spamming the Muffle spell. Every time you use it your Illusion skill goes up a bit. use it about 5-20 times depending on your skill level and you will have Illusion increased quickly
What is even the point of illusion in Skyrim? sure muffle is good first off, but after finishing the theives guild you get the muffle-type boots and the invisibility power which works without any use of magicka and well pretty much after getting the magicka resistance perks and causing people to all attack each other I really don't see any point in it. =\

You dont need to be next to someone. You can just cast it normally and still level up illusion but you wont increase sneak. Just letting people know so you dont HAVE to sneak next to someone. You can simply cast when traveling and such and it still levels it up
um acually the best way is to cast courage on your horse because it not a real enemy but is treated as one plus the spell doesnt count on magic so u can tht until u get to muffle
Found a better way... If you buy the courage spell and keep using it on any NPC, including followers, your Illusion skill will go up very quick. I recommend wearing some robes of illusion which lower the cost of illusion and improve magicka regen.
Your sword is useless as flames burn you from a distance and your shield can only block in one direction. Kinda pointless when I am electrifying you from the front while a friendly summon is up your ass
OMG noobish! Get your enchanting up to level 100! Get the perks for dual enchanting and all the enchanter perks. This allows to enchant 4 items for 100% less spell cast total which allows you to cast spells for free. And if you have the dual enchantment you can do two schools at once. I recommend restoration with alteration....

using muffle beside sleeping people raises both skills so its totally fine to do this in the companions guild imo..that said console comms are much quicker but auto run in sneak mode allows for a bio break..or at least empty the bucket under your desk..and to the people that bought this on xbox..my condolences..Todd Howard said in an interview they were originally planning to launch this game on the next generation of consoles, which in my mind means up to date machines can offer more enjoyment
Try completing the College of winterhold quest line and obtain Morokei's mask and arch mage robes, It recharges your magicka in about 13 seconds when it is depleted if you use both items together. Add more magicka restoring items for even better results. It almost eradicates my need for restoring potions.
You don have to be near anyone for this to work. I found this out after having the game for three days. In about 45 mins to an hours i took my illusion from about 32 all the way yo a 94 if you don't believe me the message me and ill send a video.. oh my character is a nord and does not level mageka quickly. Its all about the level of mageka that you cast.... and having enough mageka points to actually cast high level mageka. Muffle is an adept mageka skill if I'm not mistaken.

@motherofgod4 instead of waiting for a person to fall asleep and possibly have people come and find you, go to the house where the kids doing the 'Black sacrament' is (The starting point of Dark brotherhood.) When you enter, he cannot notice you when hes doing the ritual, and just sit in the corner there, he practices the ritual 24/7 so its straight up leveling instead of waiting.
if you hit select on the xbox and wait your desired time and then hit the big middle button in the center as you press a to wait your wait time speeds up so u dont have to wait as long :) hope this helped if you didn't already know.
Complete the thief guild quests for the Nightingale boots for muffled effect.
Complete Boethia`s quest and get some Ebony chainmail which will make you more quiet in moving and will show a cool shadow effect when crouched down.
Get some nice jewelry with sneak bonusses.
Still havent found any headgear which would increase your sneak for quite a bit, but wearing nightingale`s set and the ebony chainmail looks just ninja.

Firtsly, you got the wrong end of the stick. When i meant 'Party' i meant Xbox Live party. Concidering that my PC has been Upgraded enough times and iv had bought many Graphics cards in the Past, yet it still refuses to play half my games, And the games i buy can only be played on low settings. And thats not including Multiplayer, Ive tried to play with some of my mates and im always behind. They usualy say its time to buy a new PC. Then, for £250 i got my 360.

New crafting options, balance and patch fixes. The value is through the fucking roof and that's not being accounted for at all. using muffle beside sleeping people raises both skills so its totally fine to do this in the companions guild imo..that said console comms are much quicker but auto run in sneak mode allows for a bio break..or at least empty the bucket under your desk..and to the people that bought this on xbox..my condolences..Todd Howard said in an interview they were originally planning to launch this game on the next generation of consoles, which in my mind means up to date machines can offer more enjoyment

Try completing the College of winterhold quest line and obtain Morokei's mask and arch mage robes, It recharges your magicka in about 13 seconds when it is depleted if you use both items together. Add more magicka restoring items for even better results. It almost eradicates my need for restoring potions.

You don have to be near anyone for this to work. I found this out after having the game for three days. In about 45 mins to an hours i took my illusion from about 32 all the way yo a 94 if you don't believe me the message me and ill send a video.. oh my character is a nord and does not level mageka quickly. Its all about the level of mageka that you cast.... and having enough mageka points to actually cast high level mageka. Muffle is an adept mageka skill if I'm not mistaken.

@JiiHate ok small fry, here a little knowledge about computers. if you build one good enough, you dont have to update it for years, eventhough new parts come very often doesnt mean you have to upgrade it right away. a very good tower can last you 5-10 years, espically with the tech we have now.

@motherofgod4 instead of waiting for a person to fall asleep and possibly have people come and find you, go to the house where the kids doing the 'Black sacrament' is (The starting point of Dark brotherhood.) When you enter, he cannot notice you when hes doing the ritual, and just sit in the corner there, he practices the ritual 24/7 so its straight up leveling instead of waiting.

How to get the best sneaking gear.
Complete the thief guild quests for the Nightingale boots for muffled effect.
Complete Boethia`s quest and get some Ebony chainmail which will make you more quiet in moving and will show a cool shadow effect when crouched down.
Get some nice jewelry with sneak bonusses.
Still havent found any headgear which would increase your sneak for quite a bit, but wearing nightingale`s set and the ebony chainmail looks just ninja.

go to windhelm and go to the kids house who is trying to contact the dark brotherhood. after this quest a courier will give you a message with a black hand on it saying "We Know".
