the media's tactics probably works to some degree. a vast number of voters do not do their own research on candidates and get all their opinions from the news or inexplicably vote by party rather than by individual candidates. if their news source ignores paul or smears him, they will be affected. however, many of these voters do not participate in the primaries or caucuses. so in the end, it will still have some effect. and what makes it worse is paul has always been on an uphill battle
