@DWatson8848 Im booked up for next jan/feb, I'm buzzing but just my luck it's kicked off big time!. What hotel did you stay in while you were there? I've had some response back from Highlands Park Hotel, but they are trying to tell me winter is their peak season and want loads of money, I've paid less in Canada for a room with an open fire, satellite tv and a jacuzzi in my room!.

I like the look of Gulmarg, but im also worried the lift wont be running if there's civil unrest in the area etc.....

@superdonyoungy Mate, its gulmarg! You cant worry about if the lift s going to run or not.....you just have to go with the flow. Lots of groups wont be going this year due to unrest so...best to swallow some "Im young and indestructable" pride and pay for a guide who can help with transport, accom and safe touring when the lift is closed. Hotel Highlands is very popular with lots of tour groups and are unfortunately in a position to charge $ for individuals. Hope it works out and see you there
