  • Wow. ... If only I could get my high F to sound like that. ;)

  • Sweet!

  • Such a simple piece, yet you play with such fantastic, subtle musicality! I can name so many clarinetists who hate this piece because it is merely "boring," but you take what would be a simple young high-schooler's song and turn into something beautiful. Bravo, Pascual!

  • This is for my exa, this year, it's so fun XD

  • My favorite rendition of this piece is by my favourite clarinetist Mr Gervase de Peyer. It is also from his recording I first learnt about this beautiful music. ^_^

  • My friend is going to play this for solo and ensamble! awesome!!!

  • I'm playing this for solo and ensamble! it's the duet version though.

  • just beautiful!

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I am a student of Theodore Oien's at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, and I can't tell you how helpful it is to have at-home access to professionals such as yourself whose caliber of performance is what I strive to achieve. Thank you for making yourself accessible!

  • u r an inspiration to me!!!

  • EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE~!!!!!!!

  • Very good performance, your tone is very sweet and charming, as the others have said so. i am doing this piece for All-District try-outs. Again, good job!

  • North Carolina Central District? haha. I'm sure MANY MANY districts across the nation use this piece as audition material but NC's Central District just had auditions yesterday and this was the clarinet solo.

  • Congrats! You did a great job! I am doing this for Solo and Ensamble!

I hope I can have such great .... well.... everything.... lol.

  • the definition of beautiful. Clarinet

  • OK

    GOOD VERSION

  • Very nice tone! Congrats.

  • This is a very good player with extreamly charming and beautiful tone.

  • sorry that last sentence wos: Are you a teacher or something...

  • hes second chair in the NY philharmonic..... so obviously hes great :-)

  • what is "second chair?" I'm Belgian and I don't know it...!

  • Actually during tryouts, judges can't actually get an honest opinion of you and your musicianship, for the simple fact you only have one time to prove it to them. And any mistakes you may make(whether its the only time youve ever made it) is all they can go by. So just because youre 1st chair doesn't mean your the best. I was Last chair before and people said I could outplay the first chair player any day.(My ring finger froze up during a D scale...ugh) She and I agreed.

  • Auditions are auditions, and auditions are auditions. If you can't overcome nervousness, then you'll never in a solo performance. The reason they didn't want you on first is because your finger could freeze again during the "one player only" part. It's not a matter of what you think you are, it's what you portray to your audience.

  • Also true, but I sense a bit of 'tude...

  • Very good, you're a lot better than me, but my prestation isn't very bad,i'm really proud on it... (see video response) Arne you a teacher or something?...

  • I think the best way to describe how you played that is charming!! i played it for my grade 7 clarinet, favourite clarinet piece
