The lines say " O palan hare" which refers to (indian) god who maintains life, who takes care of any life on earth." Pretty reverential connotations.
I think it certainly wasn't a good idea to use these opening lines in such an erotic song! Go to staunch hindus and they will raise a huge hue and cry.
If you listen to the lyrics of the poem, the poet is speaking of maintaining a true love and keeping his love alive and not being forgotten or forgetting that love, I think asking a god that 'maintains'' life to hear those sentiments is not offensive. And to show erotica while saying, it. How else do maintain life if not through sex and procreation?
