If you don’t have an iPhone 4S, but still want to pose spoken questions to your device and let her speak out the answer, give ‘Voice Ask’ a try. The knowledge base behind it is huge (better than Siri) and the voice recognition works better with all accents. Work is going on to add integrated functionality that Siri offers, but for now, it’s a great app that knows details on the strangest of subjects. Get it at voiceask.com

I'm laughing at everyone that says something about how long it took (not even). As if someone is going to use it daily. Its simply nice to have, people. Not to mention you could start the car while your getting your shoes on, it'd be ready to go by the time you got to it.
Pressing a button on a phone, waiting for it to realise what you said, waiting for it to connect to your remote starter and starting the car is so much easier than pushing the button on the remote. And way easier than putting a key in a slot and turning it.
@huze5 being an idiot online, not getting it, are all things you chose to do instead of just being mildly amused like the rest of us. Different strokes, right?
because, walking to your car and starting it with the key in the ignition is so 2011... even if it does save 1.5 minutes waiting on siri to do anything.
lol its very cool and all but I dont really see the point XD I mean the remote is wireless. Now if you managed to start the car without the viper remote that would be cool but it sounds complicated. not to mention dangerous....
@Reegareth Well with the keys you have to be within a fairly short distance and line of sight. Lets say you're in a movie theater and its really cold outside. You leave the heat on when you got out of your car last, so now you can tell siri to start the car 10 minutes before the movie gets out so your car is nice and warm when you get to it!
Somebody out there is going to wish this technology didn't exist when they're out of town and somebody starts their car in their garage over the internet and burns their house down on top of it. It's only a matter of time.

I feel like all this innovation is making us more and more susceptible to hacker attacks that could cripple society. Siri reminds me of Aria from Eagle Eye

@fiquett then what is the point of then when you still need to take out your keys?? why would you take out your iphone, talk to it in a random place to open the door after which you need to take out your keys anyway to start the car???
@lDiRTyxlHouSe Maybe he lives in Canada where he needs to warm up his car during the winter before he goes out to drive it. It could also be useful if you lock your keys in your car on accident.
@vchris407 No the iPhone is communicating with a server that sends a signal to the car to start via cellular signal. The key fob is not needed to start the car.
So instead of inserting a key into an ignition and rotating it, you pull your phone out of your pocket, unlock it, tell it to start your car, wait 10 seconds as it process's that, then it starts?
Another one of those "Hey look what my phone can do" things.
