I was in the chorus of "Daughter of the Regiment" back in the late '80's amd it was great fun! Natalie Dessay is great, isn't she? Earlier I mentioned some of the great divas of the 21st Century. I forgot to mention Diana Damrau, and of course the great mezzo jJennifer Larmore. I love the voices of the past, but this group of singers are making opera history now and will be remembered in the same way as some of the greats of the 20th Century. In English the soldiers are singing "rATAPLAN". :-)

I Don't agree with the "vocal decline" thing I think she's just marvelous! She sings and acts in a wonderful way!

Dessay focus too much on the acting and she's neglecting the singing. This is good, but I've heard better, from other sopranos and from her.

Ms. Dessay is unfortunatelly condemned to some spastic moves by the stage director. Vocally she is fit for the task. 4/3

I think this is quite funny...did u hear her opening night at the met? I don't think she's anywhere near a decline.

a good Marie is supposed to act funny, not weird. And vocally, Dessay is in obvious decline.
