I know that car from the forums. Can't say I'm impressed with the power numbers. Something doesn't add up. My little 2.0 swapped Rs with vf34 (maginally better then usdm sti turbo) maybe rocking 275 whp put a good bus length on a modded E46 from a roll to 130 until my intercooler became heat soaked and the races became closer. if that impreza is about 320@ crank ... should be around 250/60 whp..

good race tho.. maybe if the impreza could shift a bit quicker it would take more time to the m3 to pass?

@beaky1706 The AWD traction of the impretza etc give false impression, allied to short gearing this gives a very good 1/4 time. however if you look a little closer you will notice that the M3 evo is a lot faster from 60-100mph - 1.4 seconds according to autocar's figures. once into third the BMW is quicker thanks to greater power at the wheels (less power losses through a 2wd transmission compared to 4wd), pushing a car with gearing for high speed acceleration and a sleeker bodyshape

If this is a 320hp sti classic i can guanantee it will do 0-60mph in the 4's.

@S1576 STI-s and EVO-s do accelerate like that, their main secret is short gears and briliant engineering. but be sure at about 200km/h that bimmer will pull away at bullet speed

The M isn't BOXER Engine The SUBARU is Boxer Engine (Turbocharged) The Front of the Engine is 4WD 4 Wheel Drive (AWD) All Wheel Drive I was in dyno yesterday and i test my IMPREZA from 0- 60 MPH it takes 3.6 sec. Max Speed 300 Km... HP- 320 HP it isn't Tunned its Stock the model is 2002 SUBARU IMPREZA WRX STi i buy it from Japan- Tokyo... If you want Drag Race no prob. ! 400 Meters ? 1200 Meters? I will kick you ;) you BMW its cool but the STi is better a loot the SUBARU is Tunner/ Rally car !

I'm sorry but you can't mesure acceleration times on a dyno. And 300 km/h with 320hp and 4WD and not very good aerodynamics isn't possible. The Impreza in this movie has about 320hp. Search for: rodymeister1 on youtube and you will find many accleration video's of the owner. You will see that it is a quick car. But his topspeed is about 268GPS/280on the speedo. Of course the Impreza is the better Rally car, but the M3 does it better on the Autobahn ;)

@ErikT595 you bull shit. If you bought it in Japan , your max speed is 110mph whish is 180kph. Stop lying I had several super cars from japan and they all limited to 180kph. Even the new GTR is limited to 110mph if you buy it from japan. They have a law that limits all cars .

Regarding interior comfort, noise insulation, engine smoothness, transmission feel, and everything else - the BMW is better. Subarus are like being inside a plastic factory. BMWs are like being blanketed in leather

@valiosubaru Being that all of your videos are from need for speed and I actually do own a 400+HP WRX, I'm going to toss the BS flag here. Also the front of the boxer motor has nothing to do with the AWD system. The transmission has an integrated front differential and the front axles come from the sides of the transmission. The reason Subaru uses boxer motors is because they lower the center of gravity in the car and make it handle better - and of course for the legendary rumble they make.

We hadden wel even vanuit de 1e versnelling gestart vanaf stationair rollend in een keer plankgas geven. De M3 spoot meteen ruim een wagenlengte weg. Duidelijk verschil tussen N/A en turbo motor.

erik, is jou m3 echt stock????Ik kan het niet geloven want de subaru moet wel sneller zijn(tenzij hij 280 pk is).ik heb een zwarte 2005 sti prodrive met iets meer pks dan je maat en geloof niet dat jij sneller bent.maak ook 7300 toeren trouwens

Ja hij is echt standaard, 325pk op de rollenbank en 359Nm. Is wel iets meer dan de fabriek opgeeft. Maar komt waarschijnlijk door het goede inrijden en juiste onderhoud/behandeling.

335i is ook snel ja, wil er best eens tegen sprinten. Wel eens tegen een gechipte 135i gesprint(zie mijn video's), die was iets sneller dan de M3, met name vanuit lagere toeren.
