  • hears another way of painting the silver on iron warriors 2:1 of tin bits and bolgun metal gives a beaten effect and highlight the armour with straight boltgun

  • Don't change a thing for haters, they're just being mean. they're not worth the effort. We watch these videos because we like you, and your painting skills. Peace!

  • Dear alexandra, I have no idea why would anyone disliked yr video, u have shown valuable amount of skills that I greatly compliment! Bravo!

  • i use the hazard stripes for my Alpha Legion bolters. i saw a picture of Alphas using them once and have kept it in mind ever since

  • Very nice, very informative ;) Good work!

  • Thanks for the tutorial Alexandra, I never knew you could get a satin varnish that way. I shall have to try it out.

  • I think this just inspired me to start Iron warriors lol

  • I love ur videos you told me how to get my army started it help me so much i would ( i dont know if im asking to much) also like to ask if you could do a Iron Warriors Rhino it would mean alot

I love your videos! super happy face :))))))))))))))

  • i agree the lenses are the hardest!

  • hi what is the ratio for the mix of your dark gold exactly? How much tin, bronze and gold?

  • @godzilla2168 equal parts

  • ;) iron warriors.. :) ur world eaters and word bearers were awesome too

  • And those helmets are my favorites of Chaos...I have 2 units of guys with those helmets.

  • That gold mixture is really slick looking, I never really cared for tin bitz because it's just too dark, I think I'll give that a try for my Custodates army.

  • Hi Alexandra

Its looking really good. The real beauty about this scheme is how fast it paints up. The only thing that I dislike about GW's IW colour scheme is, that gold and yellow together just doesn't look good. So I tend to leave out the black/yellow chevrons/stripes, OR the gold lining when I paint IW's. But thats just me rambling.

    Cheers

  • The reason i dislike is because of your annoying really gay, not sounding like a woman, voice. The vids are good, but i just can´t listen to that voice for half an hour. Shame, because you are one of the few who make painting tutorials (and good ones).

  • Comment removed

  • I really like the metals colors, but I make it a bit darker :)

  • Freaking awesome paint job I just started collecting choas I am totally making them Iron Warriors:D

  • gay voice

  • @47police is a Girl voice dam idiot

  • I have a question what is that handle you hold the miniatures with and where to get it, and btw i love your videos!!!

  • @TheThun1 old paint pot + sticky tack

  • if i conver spave marines into chaos by stiking parts on and making wounds can i use them in a chaos army

  • @xXexenarothXx what do you think how the little chaos space marines are made? ^^

  • @GirlPainting i know i was just wondering ... im a newb -__-

  • @xXexenarothXx you can use them as is. meany marines go renagade "ref astral claws" it would be a good idea to remove the imperial eagle or desecrate it as best as you can.

i have meany imperial marines who were corupted by my G deamon of slaanesh bla bla bla. it's a way for me to get to use some of my old good guy marines that I painted real well and didn't want to repaint.

  • i enjoy watching these videos :D...i'm a big fan of the warhammer 40.000 dark and gruesome steam\cyberpunk universe...someday i'll build an ork warband comprised of grots, nobz, lots of weird boyz and the whole lot that makes da ork orky :D and crush chaos good cuz spikey boyz make good fightin' ! anyway nice job :)

  • Thank you thank you. I really like the color pattern you came up with. The painting technique looks to be within my abilities, or close enough I could make it work. Thank you for the shopping list of paints.

What would you recommend for larger surface areas such as tanks? How would you divide up all that surface area? Would you break it up per side, or sections of each side?

    Lovely video though. Very timely.

  • im trying to get more video coverage of subscribers on youtube, can you help me by putting my subscribe video on this post please? Thanks, LoRD of 40K Nation

  • thanks this helped me alot with my chaos space marine tank

  • very helpful thank you so much. the model looks wonderful

  • Nice. There is no way my burly hand can paint all those details D=

  • hey do you water down your pain at all?

  • Thank you for uploading these videos, they are extremely helpful for me, as I am just starting to paint my CSM army. But I have two questions, at 7:25, I couldn't hear what wash you specified, could you clarify that? And as for the other question, would you recommend these overall colors and washes for the Iron Warrior vehicles? Thanks!

  • @AU890 gryphone sepia wash. it is clear to understand. and yes for vehicles it is the same

  • your auch a good painter!!

  • nice tutorial!

  • Tanks I always wanted to know!!

  • What's a brighter silver? Mythril silver, or chainmail?

  • @cheesychaosmonkey Mythril

  • What washes do you use? Like what company and which colors do you suggest

  • @carversoftball in the description

  • Hey Alexandra.

  • very nice work you have been doing with this video and the other videos, i like that you try to help others with painting major color schemes such as; black legion, night lords, alpha legion and more. however, what you might consider doing is showing the ratios of your paint mixing. we can all tell you mix alot of your paints and they turn out very successful, but put in ratios to help other painters when they are mixing their paints

  • they are trolls, kids who have no life whatsoever. we love you and your awesome skills and knowledge. your family here in Oregon

  • dont sweat the haters i love the vids cant wait for more fantasy ones but even the 40k ones are cool

  • For the eyes, simply apply that white dot with a needle or sharp toothpick!

    Easy!

  • Thanx for showing the varnish, didnt know it was that easy, is it just to take away the shine or does it also protect the paint?

  • @maxdammit yes the varnish also protect the paint from chipping off

  • Lol i love when she said handy dandy black wash jejejeje 23:36

  • concentrate on the lovers not the haters ;) your videos are very good. i am quite new to this but you have already advanced my skills. however i would like some advice on my hurn prototype that i have to paint. ???

    =)

  • I have a question about this video...

If you had to paint this Iron Warrior without metalic colors for the silver parts and in a similar way you used to paint the World Eater... How will you proceed ?

  • @StarkVoleinsk i would not. the thing is, you are talking about non metallic metal, but the way i have painted the world eater is nothing compared to the work that would be required to paint nmm.

  • @GirlPainting Don't you think it is possible to obtain some good color transitions with level of gray without going for nmm ? Because in fact, i think that metalic paint don't allow so much variation in colors... That why i'm asking that...

  • @StarkVoleinsk sure, you can paint a chaos space marine in grey with normal highlights, but it will not look like this marine is coloured silver. it just won´t be an iron warrior.

  • hey alex your video's are always awesome. i watch every one of them.

you inspire me to change my water and raid my bits box , try out your colour schemes and always try to improve my painting.

the "haters" . it just boils down to jealousy and fools with nothing better to do

    lots of love D

  • Nice vid. The dislikes maybe because you abuse the drybrush and a lot of people check YT for awesome techiniques and so...people wathcing the wrong kind of video and not taking in account the time you put.Keep it up!

  • "Some of the GW Brushes are shit" lol good commentary. As for those Dislike assholes, they probably ment 'dis I like'

  • I have to echo the others that have already posted. Unfortunately those dislikes are most likely from people who sit home and immediately dislike videos without watching them because they are pathetic trolls who want to drag you down to their level. Don't go there with them, it's a place of pure dumb.

  • You do such good work. Did you end up gluing the bolter in place?

  • @Ammo1313 yes ofcourse did i glue the bolter on. i just painted it seperatly because the yellow stripes are easyer to paint this way

  • Nice job!!

  • No idea who the haters are, probably just trolls that go around disliking everything. I aint long found your vids, I think they are great! Ever thought of doing an Tau, Tyranids or Tomb Kings (Can you tell I play these armies)

    Keep yp the good work!

  • Everytime I watch one of your videos, I think "I can do that, and that fast too!" When it takes me nearly an hour just to basecoat a model that small....great video GP

  • Nice job!

  • I wasn't sure if you were going to add water to the varnish, some makes of acrylic varnish are very thick and need a tiny drop to thin it down slightly to use.

For a miniature that will be handled, do you suggest more than one coat of varnish? Any tips, prefared brand, or opinion on varnishing would be very welcomed.

  • @Lostsoul1889 for plastic or resin miniatures, just one coat of watered down varnish might be enough. on metal miniatures i would aply at least two coats , not watered down. brand dos not matter. gw and vallejo vanish are almost the same, just with vallejo you have 3 different types. also spray varnish is totaly ok in my opinion.

  • wtf is with your voice???

  • @TheClaymore911: why the f... are you watching her vids, if you have a problem with her voice?

At least I know now, who is one of the two.

Her videos are some of the best stuff on youtube!!

  • @MarsFranke sounds more like guy with girls voice.. but no i have no propblems with video!

  • @TheClaymore911 gtfo.

  • @Deathofblades stfu

  • @TheClaymore911 umad bro?

  • i dont see how people can dislike any of your works you are amazing and if you notice most of your videos only have those 2 or 3 dislikes so its probably those haters who hate yet still watch your videos

    Love your videos!

  • I'm not a hater, but on thing to Recommend is that to keep the video times down. I think you should speed up the painting process, but still tell us the colors/ techniques. Also you can just do a voice over the whole video.

  • Alexandra,

I don't have the time to watch all your videos BUT I LOVE your talent and skill! You really inspire me; thank you for sharing your outstanding talent!

    BTW-Very diplomatic. It's a great quality!

    Keep posting!

  • Thanks again for another top-notch video! I'm currently debating what army I should collect next as a competitive army - and all these chaos videos are swaying my favor! Out of interest have you done / considered any 50/50 split color scheme marines? Or any pre-heresy stuff? Also Dislikes are idiots, these are some of the best painting videos around - they are concise, free and very informative for all painting levels - keep em up! The Toobies support you!

  • Are you going to be doing Death Guard? If so what version are you doing? Unpainted/grayish or sickly green?

  • Think you can do a Daemon of Chaos....?

  • Fantastic!

  • Well this is yet another one of your videos that is getting a big thumbs up from me. Great stuff, thank you.

  • best... series...evar

  • grey knights please! :D

  • I would not worry about that very small percentage, Girlpainting has a strong following and provides so much for our hobby we love!

  • I'd be curious what kind of responses you get from those who are disliking, if they even give you a reason. I tend to agree with LucasLAD as far as they're just trolling and there is no reason behind it.

  • Girlpainting the people that dislike your videos instantly never actually watch the video, its just a pathetic troll attempt

  • There are people that just troll youtube and do that crap. I wouldn't sweat it, the internet is a place of anonymity. People do and say what they want with no fear of repercussion. I love logging in to my account to see a new how to paint or informational video uploaded. Keep up the good work!

  • Amazing

  • HEY GP WILL YOU EVER BE DOING A VID ON NMM ? GREAT VID BY THE WAY

  • @utrinque3NDparatus she has, it is really good theory, go to her channel and look for NMM. If you're interested in that you should also look at her how to maint every miniature series.

  • @jmorgridge I'M OK TO PAINT MINIS MATE I CAN ALREADY PAINT TO A OK STANDARD

  • i really love your chaos tutorials! thanks ^^

  • there will always be haters on youtube, they just dislike without reason just ignore them and btw this video has no dislikes :).

    Great video

  • How do you have so much control over your brush!

    TELL ME YOUR SECRET!!

  • @TheFirraveusCarron training ;-)

  • Do thousand sons! :D

there are like no tutorials for them

  • Great tutorial! thanks a lot for sharing!

  • Loving the Chaos Space Marine tutorials Alexandra. Good job.

  • The dislikes are most likely just people who doesnt like chaos.

  • lol. deine bemahltechnik für das gelb ist viiiel besser :P ich mahl mich dusselig nen graden streifen deckendes gelb hinzukriegen^^

  • When you say dwarf bronze, you sound French! :-)

  • i cant wait for the night lords

  • @wp2355 already done ;-)

  • nice tutorial. but In my opinion they arent the easiest, because of the yellow stripes. I am just painting I. Warriors and these stripes with this not covering yellow are p°°°°°g me of ;-P

  • Hey Alex, machst du jetzt alle großen Chaos Space Marines Orden durch?

Würdest du dann das auch mit den normalen Space Marines?

Denn ich finde die Video mit den Unterschiedlichen Orden echt klasse.

  • they are trolls

  • Who could possibly dislike you?

  • Now that is a Sexy Iron warrior! awesome Painting! ill show my friend this cuz he has always wanted a fast and easy iron warriors Army that looks very sexy!

  • Fantastic MinI! I'll let my friend know about this vid, he's doing Iron Warriors ; )

  • That's sad if people are hitting the dislike button without actually watching the video. I honestly find the work inspiring and its good to see the techniques in action to help improve my painting.

  • Whomever is disliking your vids must be retarded.

  • whats the difference between gloss and satain?

  • @Warpetrie satin is less glossy ;-)

  • i dont think that the last highlight of the yellow and the black was needed, the model looked great without it.

  • Whooo! Iron Warriors! My favorite Legion!

  • haha i used a similar color to basecolor my dreadnought.... kind of like the name, DarkSteel... :) great tut :) im currently at 4 minutes :)

i hope you will get to the hazard stripes :)

  • @GirlPainting

btw to be honest i was surprised you didnt give the metal a wash of badab black or something :)

  • @GirlPainting

ok im @ 23 minutes now... nevermind my last comment about the black wash :P

  • oh and could you explain more about the varnishes?? omg im really spamming this vid im soo sorry :)
