This ep scare me so bad when I was little bc it was black and white and Ernie si my fave and when it was black and white he looked all Zerzed up and scarey and bert lost his hair OMJ!
I think Ernie can survive without Bert. Ernie is more of a free spirit that needs to meet others like him instead of being with a stick in the mud like Bert. Bert is at times introverted, serious and not fun, no wonder he doesn't have any friends. Unlike Ernie has more friends, though their more crazy then he is LOL Cookie Monster, The Salesmen, and The Count (having him sleep over; BAD IDEA, Come on, you all know the sketch where Ernie can't get any sleep) LOL :)
i vaguely remember this.i think it was first aired in the 1977-78 time frame.that wolf sound was creepy and still is.this would be an awesome one for ssw to post up.
VHS (and Betamax) VCRs have existed since the 70's, but they didn't go mainstream until about 1975 or '76. Before that, there were 3/4" U-matic tape VCRs, but they were mainly used by professionals at schools, colleges or film transfer labs. (I read that immigrants also used VCRs to learn English by taping such shows as Sesame Street.)

I remember the one in which the Count slept over at Ernie's! Quite amusing! That one came about three years after this skit.

Wow! I don't think I've ever heard Ernie actually get mad at Bert!
I'd love to see this clip.

I just found out on muppet wiki that this was first shown in episode 672,
jonnytbirdzback 2 years ago
672? If that's right, 1974 'tis, then.
That date seems to gel with how Ernie and Bert look in that frame.

This kind of reminds me of the time Patrick accused Spongebob of stealing his chocolate bar, but he already ate it.
Do you suppose they got the idea from this sketch?

I remember seeing this back in the early 80's. This clip was definitely repeated in a few episodes. Maybe someday we might be lucky to see it again.

Sesameguy told me this was on during a 1982 episode. But I'm with you, I'd really like to see it in video!

I believe this sketch was also made at around that time, 1975 or 1976. But even then, not everyone had a VCR or VHS.
Jbrangwynne53 2 years ago
That's true. I don't think sesameguy had one by the time this came on.

It's a shame you only have the audio for this. Also, I don't see any annotations. Is there a glitch or something?
antsamthompson9 2 years ago
Never mind. I see them now.

It seems so much like the kind of audio you would hear on Sesame Street LP Records. So, I'm just curious.
