  • i have to write a paper and give a presentation about this crap. everything ive read so far is just lists of long confusing words. barely any clear definitions anywhere. im gonna be a babbling idiot up there in front of my class ;z

  • @WeAreBullets The problem is that these people are framing phenomenology in psychological terms; that rather misleading. You should start on the contrary by Husserl's critique of psychologism, this will take you to the discovery of intentionality.

  • This is a very nice perspective.

  • I got a C for writing too complicated on Husserl, the whole point I got into Continental Philosophy is so that I could write long jargony ramblings that go nowhere. Who ever heard of a Phenomongist writing clearly????

  • @capgurken not really. If you read Being and Time, it is actually written in a clear and systematic fashion in my opinion.

That doesn't mean that it can be skimmed or that it is easy. But if you read it slowly and carefully, a fair bit of what Heidegger is writing is crisp and unambiguous.

  • @quarkonium Oh then I guess I'm just a bad writer

  • 80% of what we say is bull crap.
