  • My girlfriends grandmother is on the board of directors for SCV :D

  • i dont like how those bass drums are tuned :P.. but other than that, Tits SCV, tits(:

  • anyone else notice the cymbals arent playing in the second run?

  • @EggbeaterBASS They probably went to tune the cymbals

  • THEYRE. SO. DAMN. GOOD

  • This is, without a doubt, the worst video of any drumline ever.

  • @RCRhythm As explained before, I gave my camera to my student who was marching corps that summer. He wasn't well-trained on his cinematographic skills, I admit; if you like, I will take the video down for you.

  • @DrumlineArchives If you do that, I will have no way to take out my childhood angst and frustration over not being held by my mother, and being held too much by my Catholic priest, on innocent YouTube viewers.

  • @RCRhythm Very well! I shall leave it up then.

  • Bass 5 got me at 1:34. Reminds me in this bamf who had a hardcore relationship to his drum in 2008. (But i cant find the video anymore. Anyone knows which one i mean?)

  • That bass split at the beginning was pretty hot.

  • so im pretty sad that emmanuel marches with bd now

  • Comment removed

  • I wish my bassline sounded like this.

  • too bad they play pearl, sounds too fuzzy

    more dynasty plz...

  • @Xelanoux dyNASTY. Pearl is the way to go.

  • dammm...so fucking clean T_T

  • dude that bass tunning is sooo freakin sexy!

  • gotta love that SCV swagger.

  • im getting a headache from the camera moving.

    tripod.

    like in my vids..

  • hows he come up with this stuff?!?!! murry gussek is an amazing drum line composer

  • Actually Brian Mason wrote the percussion book. Murray writes for the cadet corps

  • actually, if I'm not mistaken,McNutt wrote the cadets book this year

  • i believe he was referring to vanguard cadets, not the holy name cadets.

  • oh. i thought murray writes the vanguard book. he writes all the exercises tho... i kno that

  • just one thing i love about SCV is the snare tilt. it fierce!

  • Loved the snare tuning, wonder how they did it, anyone have an idea?

  • awesome beats-horrible camera work.

  • @drummingislife91

    where you there recording it?

  • No. But if I had been it wouldn't have looked like I had Parkinson's and was jerking off at the same time.

  • Everytime I hear thos 4's I cum in my pants a little

  • i wanna try thse harnesses so badly.. they look way more.. bad ass, light and comfortable..

  • Yeah Drew and Gabbi!

  • heres a thoughd rumemrs......DW marching drums...hummm...

  • there book is so musical.

  • the way its supposed to be...writing like this is some times hard. great book!

  • I'm glad to see that SCV has stuck with Pearl. It makes me happy. =)

  • weird carriers..

  • @thasnargoblin the new pearls, im excited to use em this year

  • is that even possible to play with scott johnson's corpsmaster sticks? (the last 5 measures)

  • m-dawgs are just as beefy

  • it's possible with any stick and technique. Props to SCV for the fours though( no matter how overhyped they are, it's still cool to see)

  • idk if its possible with any technique but yea on the sticks

  • Feels like the camera moves too much :\

  • WHERE THE HELL IS THE CYMBAL LINE?

  • on the left of the camera.............

  • what kind of carriers do they use?

  • idk, but they sure look bad ass....

  • They are new prototype harnesses made by Pearl. Pearl ended its contract with Randall May, so they asked SCV to experiment with their design this summer.

  • I am guessing you know your stuff lol. How do they compare to the Randall Mays?

  • I haven't tried them. I'm good friends with the two end snares from this past year, we all marched at Mandarins together in 06 and 07. They said that the harnesses are really comfortable and super lightweight, but they had to add extra padding halfway through the season.

  • @DrumlineArchives i got to use one during scvc winter perc workshops...they're really nice and comfortable

  • They give a little more space between your body and the drum so it's more of a comfortable angle. When you put one on it also kinda looks and feels like you're strapping yourself into a roller coaster, I'm in the Winter drumline and we got to use them for auditions so that's the only time i've seen them

  • what instrument?

  • stick control is a lot slower. This is at168

  • tenors with the baby killer

  • SCV got shit on the whole season. staight bull crap. piss me off. im no big fan but they laid it down 2009. most musical show in 2009.

  • You have to admit it was very dirty though. I didn't mind the dirt though because the sound quality, music, and tuning made up for it. This next season, they are trying to keep attendance to the max and as a result there might only be 2 returning members. We'll see if that benefits or hurts them next season.

  • thats very true bro.

  • what do you mean by attendance up to the max?

    you mean ppl skipped practice?

  • NO ONE SKIPS A VANGUARD REHEARSL!!, this year some rehearsals are coinciding with WGI regionals so people from Pulse who WERE doing SCV are most likely going to go somewhere else...like a bunch are going to try for Bluecoats. Mainly the snare line tho.

  • wooooooooooo!

  • too much camera movement

  • Too many people in the way.

  • @DrumlineArchives but the audio is great

  • @DrumlineArchives Yeah, tell that drum major tits or gtfo

  • Please film some of your own footage next time then please.

You can't just appreciate the fact that he got the footage for you to watch? I'm pretty sure the person recording is not getting paid for this, yet he took his time to film it and post it for everyone.

  • man... when i saw this in ATL, my brain splattered.... NO WAY humans can be that clean with 4s and such

  • i lov e SCV, but give me a break.........it should be illegal to be this good

  • I agree that the basses tuning leaves their notes with much more space to them, but they're so spot on that I honestly feel it fills them out quite nicely. It would be nicer if the intervals were spaced out a bit more though.

  • Not much a fan of the bass tuning, but awesome playing.

  • Yeah, they sound a little closer(interval-wise) than I usually like. I can't decide if I like how resonant they are, because it sounds so nice, but removes all the attack.

  • is base 1 a midget?

  • Nope, just Asian :D

  • hahahahahaha

  • Best SCV Drum feature since 04? I think so

    :)

  • I liked the one from 3HREE, too, but damn, the first time I heard this bass solo, I involuntary swore at my computer screen.

  • Whoever recorded this needs a little steadier hand

  • Haha well he needed to get his shot of B' at he end!

  • tripod

  • That Is A Very Tasty Line! Thanks Dude!
