I've always loved this song but never imagined that I'd get to 64 some day! I'm almost 60 and this song is starting to be a song I can relate to! I've been with my husband since I was 21 and he was 20! It all makes sense now!
Who cares about the spelling as long as people want to share their enthusiasm for the song? Oh, by the way, it's "Isle of Wight", not "White". Spent many a happy summer's day there. Go on, Wiki it ... :)
I just love this, but there are three pretty glaring spelling errors: loosing should be losing; instramental should be instrumental, and waisting should be wasting. (Loosing is the opposite of tightening, and waist/waste are easily confused. Waist is the center part of the body and to waste is to diminish or carelessly use.) Sorry, but I'm an English teacher :(
@jorobbins7 You're right and you're wrong. Loosening does indeed mean the opposite of tightening. I apologize for that error. "Loosing" does have meaning, though, at least colloquiallly: used as a transitive verb it can mean to set free or let go. :) Peace.
@jorobbins7 It seems you have made an error yourself. "Loosening" is the opposite of tightening. "Loosing" is a synonym to "releasing" - e.g. "To let loose." Mr. English teacher.
@jorobbins7 I just love how anal retentives cant let the spelling thing go. Who gives a shit? Listen tot he music and shut the hell up. I liked it Emily regardless
one person is unneeded and did not get fed when they were 64

i really have no clue why, but i'm absolutely obsessed with this song. maybe it's the soft jazz feel it has...
