  • @PaperforGold Death at Dawn :)

  • saudades

  • Bonanza! A series that conquered the world. In the 20th century! The Norte America was evident with the talents of man's campo.A way of speaking the Truth to Justice. It was good times on television!

  • bonanza

  • muito bom esse video [ very good this video ]

  • Very clever! I enjoyed it.

  • DEAR ELLEN TRACY I NEED SEETHE COMPLETE CHAPTERS OF BONANZA,BUT NOT ARE COMPLETE,EXAMPLE 1,2 3...

  • @ADALT771 If you mean the seasons - you can currently get season 1-7 from Germany. Season 1 is available in America, and season 2 will be available later on.

  • @EllenTracy How in the world can I order seasons 1-7 from Germany, and, will they be dubbed in german or come with the original english with the real actors voices? Thanks for the info!! And the post!!

  • @jehukjehe They have them on amazon the UK version. The German discs come with both the original English and dubbed German. All you need to do is make sure to select English on the DVD before you start watching an episode.

The German DVDs are Region 2, so you need a DVD player that can play those.

  • the chapters are not complete...

  • @ADALT771 What do you mean?

  • Beautiful. I enjoyed the video very much. thanks.

  • RIP Pernell Roberts. thay all gone now the hole cast now

  • Ach miłe wspomnienie z dzieciństwa .Thanks !!

  • RIP Pernell Roberts.. You were truly a gifted actor...my favorite Cartwright.

  • It was a great time. I was weakly hopefull waiting for the tv movie.

  • poderia passar novamente na televisão

  • Ohhh!!! Tempo bom...

  • The REAL find is to get the end of the first episode where the boys mount up & ride out, singing the Bonanza theme, with Dan Blocker chippin' in a chorus of "Yip-yip-yo!!" I kid you not...plus there's a german or swiss version around here that's HILARIOUS!!!

  • This video does NOT suck! I always wanted Ben as a dad and I thought Adam was HOTTER than Little Joe! Enjoyed the video very much - brings back good fantasies :-)

  • yeah i thought adam was hotter than joe too

  • @yooperlooper OMG! I always wanted Ben as my dad also. So now when my dad is talking to me, i put Ben's head on my dads body, and will actually listen to him now... LOL. And i also thought it would be really cool, to have Adam, Hoss and Little Joe for brothers as well.... lol

  • @6893455b HA HA HA HA !!!! Now that I'm all grown up and (old)....well, older....I think Ben is hot :D

  • Really enjoyed the video thank you!

  • Thanks :D

  • I love bonanza.... I think you did a great job on showing impressive and well remembered pictures of the Cartwrights :)

  • Thank you :)

  • I'm for that . I would buy my copy.

  • Someone should start a petition to get Bonanza (all 14 seasons) on dvd.

  • You can currently get season 1-7 on DVDs from Germany (in English) but America have different copyright laws. I believe that they are bringing out more seasons with the Germany DVDs.

  • it's not too bad for yo first vid... btdubs, little jo be cute, but adam is a hotte!

  • I like this!! Bonanza was and still is a favorite show of mine. It'll always be a classic!!

  • I heard that when Bonanza was cancelled in 1973 that Lorne Greene was so

angry he vowed never to work with the

    NBC network ever again.

  • I read somewhere that when Lorne Greene was on his deathbed Michael

Landon visited and referred to him

as "Pa" in their conversations. They were

    very close.

  • That's right :)

I also heard that when Michael went to see him on his deathbed, it was the first time he ever saw Lorne without his wig on. Michael was thrilled that he finally caught Lorne without it lol.

  • Excelente versión. Gracias.

  • Very nice video!!! 5/5 stars! You don't happen to know what episode is at 1:57, do you? I love the picture at 2:05. It made me laugh out loud! I just like the look on Little Joe's face.

  • Thank you :D

Hmm...1:57, the picture of Joe and Hoss? That's from The Spitfire :) Or if you mean the one where they're both on horses, that's The Hopefuls.

And lol yeah, I love Joe's face in 2:05! That's from The Spitfire as well :)

  • You're welcome!

I haven't watched The Spitfire yet, since I just got into Bonanza. Thanks for helping me out!

  • No problem :) I hope you get to watch it soon!

Which is your fave character? Mine's Joe, and then Adam :D

  • Yeah, I'm watching everything I can get my hands on.

Same here. Little Joe is just SOOO CUTE!!! Plus he has a gorgeous horse! ;D

  • Lol yeah I love Cochise. I like the colour :D

And yep Joe is very cute! I love his curly brown hair XD Have you seen him fighting with his rapier yet? He looks sooo good :D

  • Nope, not yet. :'( I want to though! I've seen small bits here and there, but not all at once.

  • I noticed that some lyrics were left out

in the song, but other than that, I liked it.

    I don't think it sucked.

  • I recall the last verse went, "I've got a right to pick a little fight,Bonanza. If anyone fights anyone of us,he's gotta fight with me!"

  • does anyone know why michael landon chose to be buried near lorne greene

  • I would think it's because they were both really good friends. I read that Michael saw Lorne as a father figure and even after Bonanza had finished they would still see each other.

  • meu papii ama bonanza

  • Dan Blocker had a ranch down by cornation ab.

    Lorne Greene was canadian,still is

  • I like it. We hardly ever get to hear the lyrics of Bonanza. I like it.

  • very nice series of pictures.

  • Nice.

  • chuck norris is actually the songer for this opening scene music

  • What?

    That's Johnny Cash's voice....

  • definately not chuck norris he only does the song for his show walker texas ranger... not bonanza

  • Click on the little word that says (more info) in the box on the top right of your screen and read what it says

  • he was not even born when this song was made

  • yes he was

  • sorry for my english

    its a graet video

    all the best from berin

  • You have a great love of Bonanza as I have so maybe you too might enjoy a Fanfic reading site i greatly enjoy I have read stacks of great stories from it,Bonanza Legacy reading room,it's a great site check it out,but I can pretty well bet you've been there already.

  • Lol yes I do know of that site, but haven't been all the way through it yet as I don't have much time to read fanfiction because of work. I sometimes save them to my laptop or print them off so that I'll be able to read them.

  • I have the whole 14 seasons which 3 of my older children all chipped in together for my Mothers Day present and purshased from the USA a great number of them keep freezing and quite afew show no disc also no sound to some of them but the store where they were purchased have promised to fix the problem,I am just hopefull that they keep to thier word.

  • Wow that's an awesome present but not good that they didn't work. I hope the store do fix them. I have the German DVDs and do sometimes have problems with them freezing so I've not been able to watch season 6 yet, but I plan to take the first disc to a video game store as I know the guys there and they have this buffing machine which will clean up the disc and take scratches off. I just hope it's enough.

  • You are quick off the mark Ellen and spot-on with the answer, yes his name was Clay and he was Little Joe's brother, personally i didn't like the role of Jamie when he was added to the show and when episodes revolved around him i didn't pay much attention to them, that's when i usually switched channels.

  • I have never actually seen Jamie in an episode yet as I have only the DVDs from seasons 1-6, but I read a LOT on the facts of Bonanza, and have quite a good memory. I do remember hearing him in a voice clip of The Stillness Within and I liked that he offered to take Joe on a ride to cheer him up.

  • Jamie does not come along until season 11 or 12. I too have seasons 1-6 from Germany.

  • Yep. He first appeared in A Matter of Faith (Season 11)

I'm hoping to buy Season 7 soon. Hope they bring out all the seasons on the German DVDs

  • I'm sorry to say it but I really can't stand Jamie!! In my opinion it was a big mistake to put him in the show but I read somewhere that Joe was getting too old for fatherly advice and they needed a younster again... personally I would have prefered they didn't!

  • dont be sorry, I never could stand that daft kid either and would not watch it when he was on. I think they would have been a lot better off without him even if Michael Landon WAS older at least he was something to look at!!

  • Ellen, loved your video,i grew up with Bonanza right from the very first episode it will always be the NUMBER ONE WESTERN EVER, I have a question for you on Bonanza see if you can answer it without looking it up.What is the name of the fourth brother and was he a brother to all the cartwright boys or just one?

  • Well the fourth brother would be Clay, who was brother to Joe as his mother had him before she knew Ben, but thought that he had died as a baby because her mother in law was evil.

Unless you're talking about Jamie, who was adopted.

  • Seariosly, did JC make the Bonanza-theme? Wow, did'nt know that O_O

  • Don't think he made it, it was just a cover :) The original song was probably made by David Rose.

  • I'm only 12 years old and Bonanza is like a billion years, but I love them anyway.

  • sumpsvamp , you will lovem your whole life .

Believe me , Im 48 by now - but my thoughts and feelings are very near to Ben , Adam , Hoss , Little-Joe and Hop-Singh .

  • Right on. Adams' woman married his cousin Will and Lil' Joe's wife just had to die so he could carry on being lil' Joe but for only fourteen more episodes before they finish the series. They don't make them like that any more.

Seeing you put the video up I suppose you know a bit about the program so I'm calling it quits on the trivia.

I never knew Johnny Cash sung the theme tune either.

  • Hehee ^_^ Well when I get into something I like to learn all I can about it =D I've been a fan since 2005.

They sure don't make them like that anymore! I love a load of old programmes, my parents brought me up on them lol =D

I never knew Johnny Cash sang the song until I found it and downloaded it. It's a brilliant song!

  • Sadly I remember them when they came out on UK tv in the early sixties, Rawhide as a favourite, I loved it when Gil Favor shouted 'Herd em up, move em out'

I also loved Perry Mason however that got to be the same script with different criminals after a while.

As a young boy I lived for Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone both played by Fess Parker, and the Lone Ranger. I always wondered why he wore the mask and why left all those silver bullets around, now I know. Do you ?

  • Hmm well I'm afraid I've not seen those others that you mentioned. I would like to see them some time though.

Since I'm English, I've been brought up on classics such as Dad's Army, 'Allo 'Allo, Hi-De-Hi, Porridge. Have you ever seen any of these?

As well as old programmes, I also LOVE murder/mystery stories. My favourite is Diagnosis Murder. It's a brilliant series and Pernell Roberts has been in two episodes!

  • I have seen most of Allo, Hi de hi, Porridge and all the English classics that come out to NZ. I haven't seen Diagnosis Murder as its not on our tv at this time. Most of the other USA shows get here.

I like a good mystery myself and we watch Inspector Lynley, Morse, Dalziel and Pascoe, etc on the UK on Sky. I'm not a great fan of American cop shows these days, they are so formula but I have watched Criminal minds about the FBI profilers.

  • I really like Lynley, Morse and Dalziel and Pascoe. Other great English mysteries are Midsomer Murders (one of my all time faves) and the spin-off to Morse, Lewis. It's quite new and VERY good. I also like to watch those shows that show you a real mystery and how they came to solving them.

  • I'll look forward to seeing Lewis when it comes around. If not on NZ tv then it'll be on UK channel.

  • Gee Miss Ellen, there's nothing getting past you on Bonanza trivia. Try this:

Which two brothers got engaged and which one got married.

  • I believe Adam got engaged to Laura once.

Joe got married in the episode Forever (an episode written by Michael but for Dan however he died before they filmed it)

  • Adam and Hoss got engaged and Little Joe got married,i'm glad they killed her off though, if i couldn't have him niether could anyone else.LOL

  • Another trivia quiz on Bonanza.

Ben C was married three times, what were the names of his wives and which children did they bear.

How did the Pondersoa get its name ?

  • Elizabeth - Adam

    Inger - Hoss

    Marie - Joe

The Ponderosa got its name from the Ponderosa Pine trees :)

  • "Three rich, single guys still living with Pa.?.. doesn't seem quite right."

Well the old man had three wives, had a son to each one then they snuffed it. Maybe the boys didn't want to take that chance.

I'm sure they got to the Carson City house of pleasure occasionally. You just couldn't mention it in those days.

There were 430 episodes made, Ben C did 404, little J 389, Hoss 382, and Adam 167, Hop Sing 96.

trivia question is what was Hoss's real name in the program ?

  • Hoss's real name was Eric

  • Correct miss Ellen. I bet you had to look it up though.

  • all i have to say is RIP little joe(michael landon ) hass ( dan blocker) and the most of all mr cartwritght ( lorne greene) my u 3 RIP and adam is going to be 80 this year the only cartwright left GOD BLESS U pernell roberts and THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIES ELLEN TRACY

  • actually pernell will be 83 this year and its speeled hoss

  • oh really wow will ty for telling me i thought he was 80 and for me saying hoss ur right it was a typo lol

  • But I thought he was born on the 28th May, 1928? That would make him 80, not 83.

  • no may 18th but the 1928 thing is right sry i thought it was 1925 opps sry

  • Ooops yeah it was the 18th, sorry that was a typo.

Music: 1962's Johnny Cash and The Tennesee Three, featuring Luther Perkins on Fender Jaguar,

see YouTube, Johnny Cash - Bonanza & Five Feet High and Rising

  • The tennesee Two!

  • IT DON'T SUCK!

  • Here's a funny short story. A map of the Ponderosa (looks like the opening scene on your video) from the 60's was offered on Ebay from an offer on the back of a cereal box. The guy who got it was mad and left negative feedback on Ebay because he said, "Hey, this map is not real! I couldn't find the Ponderosa in Nevada!" The stunned seller replied, "Oh course you can't! The Ponderosa is a fictious place!" Sheesh, what did that guy expect?

  • Dezurtdude,

Actually, the Ponderosa "HOUSE' is real! A cashier at a Wal-Mart store once told me that she used to live close to it.

  • I have been in the house. It was at Lake Tahoe/Incline Village. The stairwell went no where. it basically was one large room and the cameras were in the middle and could switch to the living room, kitchen, etc with ease. It did not have a real bedroom.

  • Although not sure about this, I think the original house has been bulldozed to make room for a golfcourse.

  • The last I heard, some rich guy bought it and lives there now! And there's no longer any visiters allowed. Well, that's what someone said in a comment before.

  • you done good girl. thank you

  • great work .thank you

  • Great Job Ellen. Thanks!!

  • Thanks cma :D

  • A GREAT video! I love it! Great job!! :)

  • Thanks DD :)
