  • thanks for the videos man,i have been doing and studying the tiger style for years it is my all time favorite,i can relate to the form and technique quick.

  • cool stuff man, solid basic stance work is where it's at.

  • I you practice this alot, do you get better in stances ?

  • and after the tiger stance illustration ....he ran back home like a tiger on his hand and feet doing tiger moves all the way !!

  • As a tiger I found this video very very well done. I've been practicing kung fu for almost a decade and this was excellent. Thanks for posting. I just wish I didn't live in an upstairs apartment so that I could do this with high energy and not shake the whole building lol.

I am curious though, is this northern or southern style? It looks Northern. I realize the stances are pretty much the same in both but its how they're performed and what kind of energy is output where that sets them apart.

  • is he wearing wrestling shoes

  • kahkah awesome.... I noticed u could keep stepping on the same line no matter how much u move.

  • good

  • most of these tiger moves is in the nan quan style

so are you in austin texas ?

  • I am learning Kung Fu, and it's so much fun!

  • I would love to learn Tiger Kung Fu, but I live in Nashville. So there is no opportunity for me to learn it. It sucks

  • Great Video, impeccable form! Subscribed!

  • ...really...i dont mean that its bad or somethin or you suck...but...it just stances and backflips wont help you in a real fight or in a street fight before you get into that stance theyll make you jizz in your pants....or shoot you .....

  • @CompMasterFullRage if someone has a gun, you better run anyways because no matter how good you are, you can't out do a bullet.

  • @fearlesshannibal yeah but i think stances still are stupid.....:D

  • @fearlesshannibal sure you can, you dont let the bullet get ya, by disarming him, come on Kung Fu teaches you disarming weapons :)

  • @Wick3dWitch27 . wrong and correct.it is disipline and a art and a sport ween doing it correct. fail at it and it will get ugly.

  • the tiger stances is pretty cool, but I would really like to see them in actual speed

  • its interesting how the forms in tiger style look very alike to those of "Choy lee fut", except the hand and arm movements : P

  • this guy is a loser chuck noris wuld fuck him up

  • @sumtergeeks yeah, this guy would fuck you up though.

  • and very well done. notice the finishing on the line.

bless you and thanks for sharing it

  • I really enjoyed it. But where would you learn this exact style? Very nice by the way.

  • wow

  • fantastic vid for refferance ^^

ive watched this quite a few times to help remind me how breathing should be applied as i can hear you quite well here, and your solid movements show off each stance very well and clearly :)

    really great for body conditioning

  • nice video

  • Wow!! You do that very well.

I just started on Tiger Crane with My Sifu ,I see You practice the principles Hes Teaching Us,specially the Upper body emphasis

    Namaste

  • dont listen to people about their tiger form... buy a cat, piss it off, and copy the moves

  • go to hel grampa :D

  • Kung Fu contains both hard and soft arts. Tiger is a hard style, his form is correct. The only reason Tiger looks soft in some situations is because it is blended with other styles, such as crane. This is a kata showing the basic stances of Tiger. His breathing is where it should be, and his form is fine. Please stop fussing.

  • this is okay lol. it's just funny for me to see a white dude wearing asian outfits

  • too stiff... hes so not in the zone...

  • I do believe you are a biginner... so here are some tips ... 1st you are too tense .. Kung Fu is a relaxed Martial Art ...2nd your breathing is all wrong.... just breath natually... 3 your stepping ... Kung Fu is not a hard style so do not treat it as such... Only step hard if needed .. not with every stance ..... hope i've helped ..

  • Very powerful Tiger stances ! Stances are very important in Kung Fu, you do an excellent job of demonstrating them truly capturing the power and ferocity of the Tiger in all of his natural glory !

  • open up a kung fu dojo in galveston

  • Sorry but it does not look like it would do much in a fight

  • Sorry but this is funny for me :D

  • @Pheobelyse for me too

  • why are u breathing like that ? xD

  • cat claw?

  • the white ninja who has spent countless dollars and time to perfect a chinese style fight. Bruce lee--If i could pick out a fighting style out of all the styles i knew i would choose american boxing--

  • This is good for people with arthritis.

  • while this guy is doing this chuck liddel should just walk up and roundhouse kick him in the face lmfao

  • cool kung fu but I know karate not kung fu

  • "I ain't never seen kung fu do what a bullet between the eyes couldn't do" to quote a weird thought that popped up in my head. great stances. I want to learn drunken boxing, and tiger stance, too

  • i would realy like to learn tiger style of kung fu when i become a black belt in taekwondo

  • OMG me too EXACTLY like that :P ill learn Tiger Kung fu when i get Black Belt Teakwando ... or maby i wont wanna wait that long :o

  • i think its no real form just a stance practice, but very well performed

  • correct...it is basic stance drill

  • @MasterGohring all traditional 5 forms of Kung fu are no longer used in battle but as practice and meditation purposes.

  • yeah it's only for practice! But as i can see you re doing 'horse' stance and 'bow and arrow' stance and 'cat' stance.Ofc i know they re the tiger basic stances..! correct me if i said sth wrong !Amazing though!

  • I agree

  • forbidden kingdom

  • Thanks for all the comments on my tiger basic stance set.

  • i'm getting back in shape and starting with this set, among other methods. I studied the white tiger system many moons ago and would like to still be able to harness dynamic movement from my body.

  • @MasterGohring Thank you sir for your stances im hoping to learn either tiger drunken fist or dragon but thank you for this video =)

  • @fightingdreamers77 There's no such thing as tiger drunken first

  • @MetalheadMorales7 Im sorry I forgot to put a comma between tiger and drunken fist

  • @MasterGohring u make those moves look like a ladies walk

  • dude thats got to be horse stance the won on 0:16

  • it is horse stance, tiger style kung fu is a part of hung gar kung fu which includes crance and a tiger/crane mixed style and hung gar is based on deep, strong, low stances such as the horse stance, when i first saw hung gar kung fu i recognized the horse stance because it was in a movie with jet li, and jet li said "horse stance... good for taking a dump", hilarious

  • 虎步?

  • is he wearing adidas shoes_ thez look like mine``

  • Yea. But he uses wery low stances and low stances are so woulnerable to kicking to the legs.

  • This stance drill is for practice, not application. No one fights out of the form unless it's the movies. If there is a real conflict, you just defend yourself and don't reveal your style or do dumb karate kid stuff! But you are right, in a real fight, those stances are very slow and very vulnerable, that's why in chinese martial arts we make a distinction between practice and application.

  • wery wery wulnerable

  • Best possible work out for your legs

    puts leg presses to shame

  • lol xD

i guess this is the same as a kata in karate correct me if im wrong?

  • Good stuff! Great resource for the students!

  • This guy would definitely kill every UFC fighter with those crazy tiger claws. Hes way too deadly.

  • He would need some knowledge of ground-based combat.

In the VERY first UFC fighting tournament, some of the best upright, basic fighters were beaten by one simple thing.

    And that was ground-combat/submission combat.

  • oh sweet irony...

  • Wow, really nice stances.

  • Well.. in mine opinion Kung-fu, when we come to apply in "self defense" its like: you condition your body, so is not anyone who can come and beat you in a street fight... for sure, your much stronger, and your body is already prepared to battle.. thats what i think.

  • Your partly right since the athletic factor of a martial art is always a advantage in case of self defense.

But the character of almost any martial art is to react to a superior enemy and a greater force. So even if you are strong you still need techniques to be prepared.

  • Yes, sure.. i hadn't realize until now the intention of some styles of Kung-Fu, and made that comment pretty much without really knowing it

    Thank you, buddy : ]

  • pluse youv been practing fighting :P

  • Tiger style is very deadly, once mastered you can rip off chunks of flesh with your fingers, you wont see some of the best styles of Kung-Fu in the U.F.C and the reason for that is because MARTIAL ARTS IS A DISCIPLINE NOT A SPORT.

  • @Wick3dWitch27 a kung fu master would never lose in mma it would be 2 easy

  • @Wick3dWitch27 Hi, I'm unclear on what you mean by discipline so I looked it up to see. The only thing that really aplied was this; activity, exercise, or a regimen that develops or improves a skill. In which case U.f.c which is a mixed martial arts is a discipline as well. Also the olympics is divided into 56 different disciplines. So really I have no idea what the point is your making. Really you don't see it because I don't think it would fare too well in ufc. Pulling of flesh? Really now?

  • He seems to lack agility.

  • Well heedie, can you do something better?

  • If I trained in this art I'd be trouble.

  • He's doing the moves slow for the benefit of beginners and non-practitioners. He is very agile, you should try these stances yourself and see if you can do any better.

  • um he does the moves slow and makes sure to isolate every movement so that beginners can see its actually not to impress others but for the students of his school to enable them to learn they might wanna touch up on some tings when at home

  • where can i learn ????

  • Maybe I´m not educated enough in martial arts, the form looks pretty (which should not be the main concern of martial arts) and the exercising effect for the legs and the tendons is obvious, but I don´t see any combat potential so is there anyone who could give me a push in the right way of thinking?

  • kung fu forms hide the applications so opposition could not learn techniques by sending people into your Kwoon for a couple of lessons.

This form from what I can ascertain is a stance drill not for combat but for body conditioning. Think of it as doing weights or press ups

  • Okay this makes sense to me. After all one can´t see the single blocks and attacks from the siu nim tao or the chum kyo in Wing Chun either.

  • this video is not for combat its for conditioning and the foundation of other more advanced forms because all of these stances are incorporated into other forms

  • you're right. this is not a form though, only a basic method of teaching some stances. may be taught to new students.

there is little that is hidden. the more martial arts you do the easier it is to understand or "decipher"movements, but there are obvious limits tothis understanding. this is why we cannot learn from books, but need in-person instruction.

practical application to a movement or movements may require explanation, as it may have many applications in combat.

  • Even if we were to learn from books alone, there are so many shitty books about martial arts around, which teach you utter bull shit that can only result in injuries.

The problem about proper training is that good schools are very expensive. I talk with a buddy in california where they demand 100 $ in a month

  • $100 a month is cheap. Some schools charge $280 and up.

  • It might be cheap in the states.

Im living in germany and dojos in my reach demand 32€ or 30 € for three lessons weekly. Showers gym etc included.

Before I joined this dojo I trained once a week for 5 € which is really cheap.

So compared to germany, training in the states is pretty expensive

  • It looks good :)

  • good execution of tiger style

  • where did u learn this form from?

  • its not a form they are stances

  • man i would have beaten the shit out of thiz fool

his legs are open to attacks so is hes face lol

  • Wow your pretty ignorant. Dont worry thats not a Bad word it just means Un-enlightened. I dont study Tiger style only I study Shaolin which covers several animals with a focus on Eagle But this fella is showing the Basic stances. You dont start off fights in low stances you finish in them. It builds strength, speed, and rooting practicing them low. I think you would get hurt bad Sejdio. Very very badly.

  • pretty ignorant? iv trained allt my life in martial arts

actually pretty soon ill be fighting mix martial arts

my point is that there is actually no style ppl should find there own and call it what ever they like bruce called his style jkd and maybe there are strong kung fu masters but they dont show off;) stop believing in myths lilmage haha

  • Wow. You ARE ignorant. He's showing the STANCES of the Tiger form, not the form itself.

And if you CAN take him, why don't you come on down ehre to Austin and put your money where your mouth is. I've seen this school's students. Go ahead and try them.

  • It amazes me how all the experts on here don't have a clue! This is a form to build inner strength, which not to many on here seem to know much about. This is not a fighting form obviously, but after years of doing this you could literally through someone thru a wall. So all you kung fu masters on here go back to your teachers and get humble and maybe , just maybe you might learn something!!

  • hmm im not sue u could throw sum1 through a wall, not a solid brick one anyways but you defiantley get stronger, the horse stance builds leg muscles.

  • ironic, better spell check first before making others look stupid.

  • Another expert!! You just proved my point!!

  • lol

    1:13-1:16

  • these are good stances but its not all tiger hes switching between what looks like cat stance and also scissor stance idk though

  • Fantastic Stances, but tiger Kung fu it is not

  • very strong. he would eat windmills and punches for breakfast

  • Its important to know the time in the shaolin temple preferrably with an alarm set, they keep such a full schedule. Wouldn't want to miss an appointment.

  • i reckon i cold defeat that style. with just windmilling in with punches, kicks, and headbutts.

  • lmfao!

  • i took kung-fu fer about 10 yrs, and i must say, facing sum1 who comes out windmilling, u wud take a nice shot to the groin or stomach b4 a gud tiger claw gets sent at the face.

  • i cant beleive u thought i was serious. as for the kick in the groin, wow man, thats dirty fighting. do u pull hair and scratch with your nails too?

  • if you live in a city or an actually dangerous area, there is no such thing as dirty fighting when some guys surround you on the subway, on the way back to your car outside a bar, etc.

  • i live in dublin so ive a fair idea about it. what city do u live in? where ya go about kickin lads in the sack.

  • buffalo, 2nd poorest city in the US (debt)

not to say that a kick to the groin is what i would do, but in terms of saving my life sometimes just closed fist punching a man cant be relied on if he has a friend or two there

  • CHEA its resourceful!!!!!

  • there is no such thing as dirty fighting when you are actually fighting...main point of fighting is fighting...there are no rules on fighting..,if you fight to protect your self or a love one you will do any means necessary to beat the shit out of your opponent

  • Anyway you are right about street fighting. THERE ARE NO RULES! A tire iron, a cell phone, your car keys stuck in the throat or eyes of a antagonist will quickly end a confrontation if it means your life. What this guy is doing is not fighting! This form develops internal energy after many years of practice. Using internal energy on vulnerable parts of the body and pressure points and in take down throws is very lethal if you know what you are doing.

  • hahaha its 1 of the most underestimated attacks along with the foot stomp, a huge pt of any martial art is deception, and surprise. anyways i was just foolin. and i kant believe U thought tht i though u were serious. lol

  • he really looks like a tiger

  • fantastic deep stances, well done! Thats what makes a good kata i rekon, deep stances which work the legs. practicing strikes from deep stances makes doing them from fighting position easy. i think thats the point isnt it?

  • Ah now I get it, The secret behind every kung fu master.. Adidas ;-)

  • Good Stances - Is this a kempo form of shaolin?

  • 5 stars!
