  • This looks like Vernon Hills High School

  • @lamborghinicorvette It sort of does, doesn't it? (Except for the orange in the end zone, and there's no VOR/DME :) )

    --- -... -.-

  • Of us knew what song we were suppose to play when the kid was up there and just played the song. Other didn't know what to play, and shouldn't have even put their mouth near the mouthpiece. Well, that story was longer then I thought it would be, but they only let you put so much in each box... So yeah, that's the story anyways.

  • Tried to go along with what the kid was doing which was funny. Then he said we stink and then the Drum Band Director did "the sign" to start soloing what he told us to encase something like that happened... Then he looked mad that we can play, he just wasn't being the Conductor right. I don't blame the kid though, he doesn't know how to do stuff, kinda why we were there anyways. Myself and the other drums just played what he told us to when the kid started to do the moves... Luckily, most....

  • The 5th grade school to play because they will be able to try for band if they're interested. We got there, and our 1st chair trombone messed up at the beginning and played before he wanted us to start as well. Then each year they let a kid get up and be the Conductor, none of us knew what to do. The kid was retarded... Band Director told him what means what, but the kid didn't know what he was doing... So we played the song he told us to play when kid got up, so we just did that... Others....

  • They use real ones, but they're thinner metal to be lighter. They play the same as a regular tuba with the full metal though, therefore being the one they should instead of the plastic ones. Though, I'm sure whoever said that the plastic tuba messes with their crank didn't know about a thinner type of tuba that plays the same as a regular tuba, it's just a thinner metal the real tuba. Our band is always 1st 2nd or 3rd to every contest we're in. Though funny story to tell, that we went. to...

  • I hope your not trying to compete with me because I seriously play all of those instruments well and others at an intermediate level but good job on first chair. Seriously though, talk to me when your first chair in high school while you are in middle school

  • @timebomb555 Will do my friend. I'm not really trying to compete with you either... though you said the instruments you play, so I said the ones I play. The ones I said were the ones I've pretty much mastered. Plus I played them before starting band this year... I can play the others pretty good, but not as good as the ones I named. Also, my Band Director, well the Drum Band Director anyways, said this band did worse then you're saying they did. He said the trumpets did play weak notes, and...

  • @timebomb555 That through most of that a lot of them played the wrong notes. He's been a Band Director for 31 years too, so I'm pretty sure he knows what he's talking about. Trumpets were playing notes weakly, but they were probably playing so low he said because they aren't even playing the right notes. Also, for the guy said the plastic tubas mess with their crank... Well it does, but they're used for young students like this band is. They are freshmen, though my band in 6th uses real ones...

  • Below forgot to say the sixth one I like to play... Though it's French Horn.

  • dumb ass tubas , look toward the crowd . those plastic tubas make your crank sound bad.

  • search for ESPN Bob Jones, and the video will pop up

  • Oh gosh! I miss playing at the football games! That was actually our first FULL time playing at a football game as freshmen. Best season ever!! :)

  • drumline dude were r the snares

  • brass needs to tune there instruments

  • I know right. Doesn't first trumpet sound weak to you?

  • @DustinDykes yes it does

  • best origional version ive heard on youtube

  • ha i hated directing this cuz i never got the cut-off...but i loved the color guards dance :)

  • no boo, drumline is ALWAYS THE BEST!!!

  • Of course, the tubas were the best part.

  • Whoever's playing 1st trumpet needs to lip a little higher for that upper register near the end. Also, it would be wise not to blow so uncontrollably on a note that you can't hit consecutively well. Other than that, not bad for a group of freshman.

  • I think their band director should control that, not you.

  • Comment removed

  • Listen to the video again, and tell me that the trumpet overtones sound good. Yes, it is the band director's job. As a freshamn trumpet player with four years of experience, including two district honor bands, I was offering advice. Here is a link to the HS band I'll be playing in next year. BTW, we have some of the best players in the state of AL. And after trying out, I got no. 2 out of 30, beating several juniors and seniors. BTW, I'm normally very modest, but you sir have irritated me.

  • What are you going to do, push your keys harder?

  • wow, aren't you funny. Especially behind the safety of a private monitor. I assume you're in a band, or asscoiated with one? Either way, I've made my point. I was simply trying to help. I'm not forcing my advice on anyone.

  • Actually, I'm the exact same person, live, that I am online. Sorry to deflate your balloon.

  • @DustinDykes seems like your trying to show off because I came in to my freshman year with 6 years experience and now working on my 8th with massive amounts of musical experience and I was the best one in my entire school playing two instruments. I also think if one trumpet is going to play that when then all of them should to make it even

  • @timebomb555 really, it seems like I'm trying to show off? No shit Sherlock! Wait to state the obvious. By the way, I never claimed to be the best trumpet in the world. So ok, you're better than me. I'm fine with that. There are tons of trumpet players better than me, just not at my high school, which is one of, if not the best band programs in the state of Alabama, both marching and concert. But going back to my original argument, tell me your honest opinion of the first trumpets at 0:40 .

  • @timebomb555 I'm in 6th grade and play the Drums, Sax, Tuba, Trumpet, and Trombone. I can play others, I just don't like them. When we played instruments to see which we'd play... I got 4/4 on all of them. I'm 1st chair in band for the Drums because they only let you play one sadly. At least in school/ band hall. I own every instrument though. I believe just going by the ones I like to play that's 6? 6 > 2
