  • I love BBL World. The best underground hiphop sound.

  • I used to have this Dvd

  • to be honest, i can see kentaro is an absolute beast when it comes to juggles and he's definitely very creative but i just don't dig the music he comes up with !! Someone like D-styles might not be as clean as this guy but his music really gets my head nodding. Just personal preference i guess

  • if im riht didnt he(kentaro)play with miyavi in the kavik boiz?, but anyway i rly like how smooth everyting flows in this vid, n i have to agree there r not alot of annoying scratches

  • this set was awesome, very original and not too noisy with complex scratches that make your brain think your listening to UFOs

  • BBL houses J Dilla and Pete Rock .

  • The tune is a break from a scratchproof sample record

  • I think it might be bits of bob marley or something rasta

  • At 3:00 he uses those records its alot of his mixes

  • fuckin great!

  • kentaro is da man he makes sick skillz beatz jus whit loops or whit fucking boring stuff thats da shit !

  • What is the name of the record that he uses at 3:00? It's nice!

  • its a remix of some of bobmarly

  • same record at 3.00 as he uses in another mix.

  • I'm a big Q fan myself - but in my opinion he only uses his scratching to dominate over everyone, I respect Kentaro for breaking away from the stereotypical 'scratch dj' and just doing his own thing - I would be interested to see him face off again Q one day.. although I doubt it will ever happen! I think it could go either way, Q is the king of scratch and kentaro has the cleanest beat-juggling I've ever heard, not to mention quite a few other tricks up his sleeve!

  • Don't forget that Q is the reason why there is a stereotypical skratch DJ. ;P haha but he's been around long before anyone even heard of DJ Kentaro. IMHO Kentaro is in a different generation of DJs. Don't get me wrong, Where Kentaro lacks in skill, he makes up with CRAZY creativity. Much respect to both those DJs.

  • 'lacks in skill' ? You've probably never set your hands on records. He is an uber skilled dj. I agree he has great creativity to but he doesn't lacks skill at all. Only a few can match his swiftness.

  • BonzyBuddy.. watch the video with dstyles n kentaro n u'll c where kentaro lacks skill.. this mf is still awesome tho

  • Amazing swiftness, perfect drop placement, precise cuts, and has his decks mastered. I don't know what else you really expect out of a dj.

  • at last a sensible comment on the whole Q is best argument...agree with every word! Kentaro's style translates better to a club environment which is my thing.

watching Q is more of a spectator sport.

  • reggae and scratches... nevah herd it b4 but it sounds great O.O

  • REALLY GOOD!!

    very clean beat juggling!

  • this guy reinvented music as we know it

  • holy shit!..... this is guy is gooood!! O.O

  • omg... this man is a machine.... reeeeaaalll hoottt...

  • reggae + scratches? Cool enough.amazing.

  • SCRATCHES AND SWITCHES OVER THE MARLEY...

    i love it

  • The record with all the drum beats on it is called "dj swamp scratch proof 4"

  • P Fel and Greem are sick, but no one has ever put down a routine all by their lonesome that is almost entirely original, he never just lets the record play.

Always tricking, and in tempo. P Fel and Greem scratch better, but so do all of my friends who spin hip hop.

  • i agree in a way, kentaro is always funky and inivative.plus he uses a lot of drum n bass and reggae, which is always nice.

  • "innovative" and yeah, I totally agree. His scratching works for what he does and what he does, he does well. This man is the creative genius pushing the dj world forward. er... something like that.

  • naw man Qbert scratch's better

  • Q scraches are much better but so are the juggling from Kentaro, his routines are amazing, to bad I dont like 90% of his record choice

but I can still say if someone is good or not even when I dont like his music, most others are just hating all the time but cant do shit theirself or dont even understand whats going on

stop comparing and just enjoy the artists

  • this dude would melt q in a battle

  • damn, he covers all the genres

  • very much talent :)

  • this is the fucking ledge... i wish i could be a 1/10 as skillfull... no doubt the best in the world hands down...

  • dope set!!!

  • you...

  • DMC 2002 Dj Kentaro thats where this is from.

  • yeah and he made it so much better in the dmc 2002

  • sweeeetnes!! this dude kicks ass

  • Nice to see that he's perfected his past DMC routine! Respect!

  • he has a album @ solid steel with only ninjatune tunes ;D

  • amazing control!!, but i don't like the choice of his records. DJ Shadow is the one.

  • I just left that same comment on another Kentaro page..great jock but the records sometime ?!? might be time to re-introduce hip hop back into the battle scene..it's starving for flavor !

  • reggae/ragga/dancehall etc etc is massive in japan so i find this set to be pretty bang on and u could get down to it in the club!!im a huge reggae fan and its dope too see it get "turntablised"

  • he's got the dopest skills and the coolest t-shirt :D

  • joder.. xaval!!!

increible. por q lo veo si no...

  • SUGOI...

  • c2c gots skilll... but kentaro right now has to be one of the best turntablists, if not the best cuz he so creative!!! his 02 dmc routine has to be one of the best in sets ever thrown down in dmc history!! hes up there with craze, q bert, and a trak, maybe even surpasses them his new creative abstract style!!!

  • ummm...rock the bells?

  • aaaaajjjjjjjjjj ????????????????+

  • totally agree

  • peace

  • whats the name of the very first track he´s juggling? this reggae thing...

  • What is the record that Kentaro is using at 0:48 ?

  • OMFG skillz0r!

  • Anybody living in London check this. DJ Kentaro & DJ Krush will be playing at Koko in Camden on 27th May.

If you like turntablism you might want to check out Birdy Nam Nam at Cargo on 24th May.

  • hes the only turntablist ive seen whos scratchin actually works as music, some of the others are great to watch but u wouldnt listen to them. scratch bastid as well maybe

  • what turntablists u been watching? greem, pfel,to name 2 can scratch as musical if not more so than kentaro

  • yo c2c got just as much skill but diff stlyes

  • i dont think u can compare a team to just 1 man.but c2c are skilled, that why they 4x dmc champs lol

  • pfel and greem are up there with kentaro and hi-c

  • I've been to every DMC final since 08, and I can tell you no one ever impressed the whole room like Kentaro did both in 01 and 02.

He's not the best scratch DJ, but that would never win you the DMC as a solo artist. You've gotta bring everything, especially at the world finals, you've gotta select records that appeal to a more worldly sound.

  • I am a big Kentaro fan. He is incredibly creative.

  • the grey record is dj swamp - skip proof scratch tool 4

  • i love the way he includes ragga style into his tablism sets, mad inspiring

  • oh dj kentaro muchly skill, yes!

  • This man is a robot, cyborg/android whatever, love him since I saw him taking dmc title 2002...

I believe it was dopey who said Of the hook, and everybody was shouting out for Kentaro.

He was the king for that day, and so happy

  • Parts of his routine are really well polished from many many performances

  • q bert eat dirt rofl :DDDD

  • i love kentaro hahah

  • The best i have seen!!!! Q bert eat dirt!!!

  • boy...unlike many others he has utilised turntablism to the fullest and made a name for himself...

  • nice thx for posting

  • class....
