  • i thought this was going to be in german, and when she started singing, i was thinking, "her german is horrible!", then i realized she was singing in french. haha

  • Fine top that started where many stopped! ----- Solid on those amazing high notes and real, not just a scream. She died in her early 40's in 1960 but sang in a few performances( in this Country ) of Luica with Peerce and with Tucker in the others in San Francisco Calif. RIP 1918-1960 (Died of Leukemia) RIP

  • yep adam lopez is just a novelty I've yet to hear him and say OMG he's an outstanding singer Range does not give beauty to the voice just more to work with than the average ranged singer but really how many pieces have been written for these freaks of nature? not too many in main stream classical singing.

  • definately in french, far too nasal too german.

    still, she's pretty good.

her D's are a lot shorter and lighter than most

  • she didn't really use head voice though...it was said that her crazy high notes were still her full voice. that was what was so amazing about her.

  • Full voice simply means it's all connected and well supported. In that case head voice is still full voice.

  • 4:14 right there.

  • 4:13 wow.

  • It doesn't sound right in French or English......I prefer it in German.

  • It sounds like French to me:

    1) I think i hear nasal vowels,

    2) Her "oui" at 3:29 .

  • Old voice, exquisite with tremolo.

  • 4:14 was not whistle register it sounded like if it was full voice.OMG how did she do that.

  • Edda Moser and Diana Damrau do it too...

  • nicola sedda to has a very wide vocal range.

  • try adam lopez with an 8 octave range

  • lol Adam Lopez, seriously, let's try to see him sing Lucia. The man has a painful top register and no musical integrity.

  • It's true...huge range he has, but the middle voice which is the most important part of the voice, is colorless and uninteresting.

  • Yes, totally agree, very ordinary singer, his range is extended but then that's it, his middle register is very bland and not special at all.

  • How many of those octaves actually contain singable notes, though? I'm a bass and can reach soprano High C, but I don't really consider many notes over Middle C to be in my singable range. It's the same thing here: it's unreasonable to think that all 8 octaves contain notes he can use when singing.

  • you mean you can sing soprano C in full voice or in falsetto?

  • Falsetto-I don't really consider notes in a person's whistle register or vocal fry register to be true notes unless they sing them impossibly well. In fact, I probably could go higher than High C, but I don't want to try, because not only do I not want to possibly hurt my voice, I'm not trying to be the next Ivan Rebroff!

  • Yeah, it'd be awesomely amazing if a bass could hit soprano C in full voice :)

I can hit F over soprano C in falsetto, and I'm a baritone (just high enough to sing Queen of the Night! XD)

  • Unbelievable.

She is written in Oxford dictionary of opera hitting the last note on piano.

She is also written in Guinness world Of records.

Exceptional Wide Vocal Range With Stratospheric Octaves.

Do you think if she is living today will anyone rival her range.

She can make it to the last decibel if she is still living.

Others insecure of her make her image bad but trully she is definitely unbelievable her music can blow ozone layer.
