If you don't want to shell out an extra $500 for Shadow Scyther and a SG Rodimus or Henkei Wildrider, you can make your own red-and-orange scythe with the weapons from Energon Skyblast and Doom-Lock.

It's essentially free if you already have the figures, or maybe up to $15 if you have to raid eBay or a BST forum for them.

@9012Ironhide A couple months back they released replica Human Alliance Sideswipe toys in a variety of colors. That was them. They were perfect replicas with original quality, and even original boxes, but they came in 6 colors.

I thought it was wise to review this add-on kit before posting the Masterpiece Hotrod review. I know alot of people are looking forward to TF Sources opinion of the MP Rodimus but i say save the best for last. And I didn't see any problem with your KO comment as griped about below. Some KO's are cool, but lets face it the majority of them suck and are just thrown out there to try & cash in on the recognition factor. As usual, keep up the good work.

I got it two weeks ago! My first Fans Project! Although I found it small to cost over 130 bucks, later when I attached it to my Challenge at Cybertron Hot Rod I changed of mind and I liked it a lot. Now I`m thinking to get the Warbot defender figure.

Good review but very tasteless of you in the beginning of the video to knock other third party figures and ko. A lot of these figures are pretty decent quality. Just because you don't carry them, you slander them?? Not very professional. I don't see you do a quick flash of igear toys that you sell on your site which totally infringes on Hasbro IP on much more current figures.

@johnvi79 Realize that the opinions of the reviewer are not always the same as TFsource itself. I must agree with you that the iGear toys are not something I will endorse, however TFsource reserves the right to sell what they want.

I can also assure you that TFsource will not sell any of the items displayed at the beginning of this review.

i choose masterpiece rodimus over this guy.

i cant say it was a dumb choice, both guys are worth it.

the problem with the masterpiece, he is too expensive, but damn he is one cool figure.

and i love the original design for him.

the problem with the protector armor, is that i dont have classics Rodimus. and where i live, there are barely any Rodimus figures.

Great review as usual. One point though, the 'c' in 'Scythe' is silent; maybe I'm being pedantic but the pronunciation in this video drives me nuts. :)

I concur, that kind of slip always makes me paranoid when buying a product. I swear I heard a Scyther once somewhere in there...

My Classics Rodimus looks naked now without this upgrade! It really was a good video, but I would have liked to see more images of the various releases with the armors. If I had, for example, Wildrider or SG Rodmius I'd really want to make sure it was worth the trouble of getting the Shadow Scythe set. At least I would if I weren't a black repaint fan

Re-watching it, I was TOO HARD on the video, and there was more of what I requested than I thought. Still, when the Sons of Cybertron variant is shown, the fade from the "naked" figure to the armored version obscures the picture, and it rotates around before... fading out right before its facing front again, making it so you can't see it from the front.

Don't give up hope. With this economy and job market, I know my Rodimus will be on eBay in a few weeks, soon as I finish off my Alternators and RiD sales.

Wow that sounded self serving, but I am serious: finding a Rodimus at a reasonable price just requires patience.
