yeah, beautiful and useless at the same time, though i can't figure out why Apple did not make the screen larger with all that extra real estate around the edges. Where Apple really failed is the lack of using a real OS that can multitask, not adding a camera, requiring itunes on a another computer just to download apps, etc. it becomes obvious, today's netbooks are more capable than iPad.

@yeomanrycavalry Haven't you learnt the secret yet?..Apple specifically does this to play the market so that when they announce the next gen iPad these features look like major innovations , when they easily could've been added in the 1st gen version and then people buy into it and go out and buy it just for those features. I do agree with some people here, the "review" I believe sounded a bit too bias. There were practically no specifi pros but mostly cons. However, the iPad IS useless.

Why is it useless? It's simple logic; there's no hate behind. Why release a new device that doesn't do what simple netbooks can? Forget about the touch-screen, and tell me what does the iPad bring to the table? Apps? What?

The video will only last 2-3 hours probably since they say 5+ hours possible battery life. You hit up flash sites while browsing what will the battery life be then... 3-4 hours?

The slate has the features the ipad should have, but FAIL on the battery life.

The ipad isn't perfect, but I am sorry your review is based on what you want vs what the ipad is. You do bring up a very good point in regards to non uber geeks who will love this device as they are the people who it is intended for.

Netbooks are the biggest fad since the pet rock... who cares if you can use real applications on it? It is so small it is nearly impossible to do anything with those "real" applications. So what is the bread and butter of a netbook then?
