  • im a big Killing Joke fan but they totally nicked the drums from the beginning of this for `Follow The Leaders`

  • going to see Adam Ant this Sunday in Edinburgh - after having listened to & collected his records for 30 years, I'm excited!

  • magnificent,before stuart sold out.

  • Love, love, LOVE this song! Has been a favorite for many, many years.

    Thanks for sharing! :D

  • wow brings back memories brilliant.

  • Oh my GGGOOOODDDD i had forgotten just how much i loved this ..... and how fucking good it was then, is now, and ever shall be ..........

  • Haven't heard it for years, thank u for posting x

  • Off to see Adam this coming friday, chuffed to fook thats he's mostly doing the 'older' stuff........ really cant wait! :D

  • @HanSolosWookie was it good?? bet it was

  • nice to hear this in full - my original had a scratch through the first 2 mins. or so - i still listen to this expecting the tune to jump to the next line! lol

the thing that gets me in this track is that it sounds 'strange' or off-kilter, but it's played so tightly, i.e it's meant to be like that. the sound is basic and simple but the playing is very clever

'angular guitar' is the phrase i'm looking for, instead of just strumming plain chords

  • Can wait to see these guys in 8 weeks time :D

  • used to listen to this when i was 9..bit dark.

  • luv this, have the original EP although havnt had out for a while!!

  • I like all ants, doesn't anyone on youtube like ALL of the ants?

  • Top Track..... it sounds like PIL!

  • You don't need anything after an ice cream! ............... love your comment minivamp!

  • Music for a future age

  • the orig do it lp is a masterpiece. the rest is unlistenable. i loved the ants until about 79...then it was just too embarrassing to be seen in those old adam-designed tee shirts. still - this first lp ranks as one of my favorites.

  • reminds me of my old mate Tony, who had a blue car and gave us a lot of trouble. The car that was.We used to torment people around North Devon in it back in the day..What happy times we had, silly yet happy.

  • i love this song so much sometimes it gives me panikattacks

  • Dark and nasty. Got it with my Xmas money early '82. Aged 13. Not exactly Prince Charming, is it?

In the Top 5 album sleeves to me, and a damned near perfect bit of vinyl.

  • totally agree the two albums with kev moony were ace and lets forget all the dandy stuff they did later this sound is legendary it lives forever!!!!!

  • @doggreen1000 Kev Mooney played bass on about half the songs on the Ant's multi-million seller 'Kings of the Wild Frontier' and a couple of B-sides. All during Adam's succesful period. Andy Warren played on Dirk Wears White Sox.

  • acers.

  • life is short i love this so much and R.I.P. MM the sex pistols were top x

  • @ilovebumfun YEAH!!!!!fly in2 the abyss of bliss

  • and then a woke up ..when aata were class cheers for postin m8

  • I dreamt i was a spastic but my boots were clean!!

  • This is the same versions of cartrouble from my Adam and the Ants 12" ep except there is a snare drum overdub on part 2. Weird.

  • thanks for uploading this is wicked

  • thank you so very very much, got this wen i was about 13 back in 82 or 83?

  • bought it 79 class album

  • You are a solid instigator of the human code/

You held up the traffic while I crossed the road/

  • This is really Adam Ant at his best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Indeed Siouxsie could have been a perfect duet for this one...

  • I used to be an ant fan ,,,, but I was in a pub ,,,wow yeh ,he came in with a bloody gun , everyone shit themselves then the pigs came.but I will still be a fan

  • He is bipolar.

  • and keep your feet off the upholstery Ronnie X3

  • This song reminds me of the time I drove my light blue iroq to santa barbara. The tranny give out on me, the piece of crap. Its a sad but true story.

  • Classic Adam Ant of its time unlike the pop crap of later years

  • So true, I hope he gets back to his roots on his next album, whenever THAT happens !

  • relevatory in mid-1980, but a dated curio-piece today.

  • sweet jesus. many thanks for this post.!

  • Feckin' love this song. <33333. ''Have you ever had to ride in a light blue car....have you ever had to stop and wonder who's the slave and who's the master....''

;'D. Adam and the ants, for the win!

  • @SiannDoll bababowww!

  • @fuckamericanidiot have you ever had trouble with your auto-mobile, have you ever had to push, push, push, push. Dunna' nunna nuh nuh, Car trouble oh yeah.

  • @SiannDoll ..

    "..ba-ba-baoow!"

  • @SiannDoll

"..have you ever had to think, who's the slave & who's the master - baa, baa. bow!"

    ..actually.

  • Pray 4 Me.........

  • Comment removed

  • why would you want to pigeon hole it? do you have your records in order of genre?

  • keep your feet off the upholstery ronnie oh yeah

  • good comment your right this was nothing like the pop stuff that he did later dirk wears white sox was/is just a fantastic album

  • I'm a fan of the pop stuff, but this reminds me of Siouxsie and the Banshees a bit. Not that that's surprising, considering where the Ants started. :D Awesome track.

  • Two comments & 789 views. Jesus i need new glasses, ace song.

  • been listening to this album since 82 when i was in 2nd year. once i got over the fact it was NOTHING like the pop stuff, i saw it for what it was. incredible.

  • yeah same here cat..........they were obsessed by fame........shudda stuck to rubber/fetish scene

  • The backing band more or less deserted him. They couldn't resist joining up with Malcolm McLaren to form Bow Bow Wow. Bet they were kicking themselves....

  • only the bassist, Andy Warren, had dignity (although i didn't listen more than one Bow Wow Wow song, watching that beach video on VH1), he joined Monochrome Set, who were a more experimental version of 1977-80 Ants

  • Well Hell yeah!...I learned how to play a bass guitar off this song!
