  • Does anyone know what color was the Laura Mercier creme blush?

  • what about primers?,

  • you make it all make sense ... its hard adjusting to mature skin...Its like learning all over again..thank you for these video's. I really learn a lot from you...my number one make up brand? Chanel....purses too! From a grateful Canadian friend x

  • 1 dislike... someone is feeling old as hell xD

  • You're amazing!

  • Dear Lisa, I absolutely admire u so much! Could u tell me about any make up thing that doesnt sticky on the clothes? This is really annoying if we are using clothes n finding it sticks there! Thank u in advance :)

  • Just found your videos and though I don't wear tons of makeup, they're so helpful!! I live in Australia, am 29 and have combination skin that breaks out once monthly. I'm trying to find a foundation that will give light/natural coverage, cover my acne scars but not cause further breakouts when it's hot. I'm trying to decide between Bourjois, Chanel and Clinique Anti-Blemish as I've had recommendations on all of them, including your videos! Would you recommend one over the other?

  • Please make morevideos like this!

  • I just love your videos Lisa. You talk with such diplomacy when talking to women like me (50+) about issues that really need to be discussed.

In all your videos I feel as if you are having a conversation with me rather than talking at me.

You have a wonderful camera presence and your own beautiful skin and makeup is simply stunning.

I watch your videos often and rarely do I comment, this is simply to say THANK YOU, I sincerely appreciate what you do.

    Donna xoxo

  • Thank you Lisa, I'm sort of investing and learning for my mom atm because she hasn't been using make up in years and as she has really nice skin(and she looks REALLY young for her age), I really want to enhance it and show it off because she really deserves it. Your videos are amazing and I know exactly what my to-buy list for my mom is now! Thanks you very much again xx

  • 0 dislikes, that what I like!

  • Thank you sooo much for such useful video.

I have 1 question: I'm 26 years old, and my skin is ok. But when I smile, there are some fine lines and wrinkles near my mouth and especially under my eyes. What should I do? Please, give some advices.

    Thanks in advance!

  • @SeleneLilitu Milk of Magnesia, I have very oily skin, I live in Dominican Republic and it works wonders for me my face stay matte for even 6 hours its amazing, when before a hour after i was oily as HELL. I use it as primer, i aply my moisturizer, then milk of magnesia (with a sponge or ur hands so it blends well to not let residue, in case that happens, just damp ur hands and rub them against the white residue) and my foundation! I use Teint Idole Fresh Wear by Lancome! it looks so natural.

  • THANK YOU!!! This was so helpful for us who are aging and need anti-aging tips!!

  • I'm 26 but look like 46 because of my undereye circles.. they're not just dark, they're kind of sunken into my skull... what should I do in terms of makeup and skincare?

  • @statoquantico84 not sure if this has been answered yet, under eye circles aren't really something that skin care can fix, I'm 21 and have really dark circles lol :( a pinky/peachy corrector can really help by neutralizing the darkness and also brightening/bringing forward the sunkenness, and if you have darkness on the inner corners on the bridge of your nose, make sure to put the corrector there as well. just be sure not to cake it on, if necessary set it lightly with powder

  • Hello Lisa! Today I did my make up following your instructions. The method works great. Afterwards my boyfriend looked at me and said my face looks "flat". He did not mean "even", my face somehow lacked the 3D, went 2D. Even with the fresh pink blush on the cheeks. Should I work with a dark poweder to do some contouring? Or more of the blush? "Even" would be nice, I am not so sure about "flat" ;-)

Thank you for taking your time for answering individual questions.

  • You are such an inspiration! I've wanted to be a MUA since I was 13 or so (I'm 16 now), and I can't wait to be as successful as you. I watch a few "gurus" here and there but, you and gossmakeupartist are my go-to-artists because you actually are makeup artists and it's so great to have you here on Youtube. It's like having my own teacher at home. Anyways, thank you bunches of oats and stuff for taking the time to make these videos. <3Emily

  • @SeleneLilitu what about blotting papers? Are they available? shiseido do good ones x

  • what about No7 firming and lifting?i just have 2 lines in my forehead and around my nose

  • @alyausa its really good x

  • I use makeup forever HD on my mom. it looks AMAZING!!

  • dear Lisa what about laura mercier tinted moisturiser for mature skin?

  • I was wondering what your thoughts were on Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse foundation and Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse foundation also could do a review on Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer.

  • Hi Lisa, what kind of highlighters would you suggest for older women?

  • WaW you RocK the tube girl :)

    xxx

  • Hi Lisa, I wanted to know what foundation you would recommend for my combination/oily skin with sensitive/rosacea and also one that won't settle into my laugh lines that start at my nasal folds and extend to the corner or my lips. I find that most collect in that area. What products/techniques can you recommend? Thank you for your wonderful videos and wealth of knowledge!

  • I really love your videos!!! You are amazing to watch. I'm older (46) and have broken spider veins on my cheeks. I also have combination skin. I know too much foundation is aging, what is the best foundation to cover these, or should I use concealer? Thanks and please continue to make videos for us older ladies.

  • I'm really enjoying your videos. I just discovered them yesterday and have been going through them quickly. I have surface capillaries that show through on my cheeks and after I apply foundation they are covered. But when I try to apply a cream blush it tends to rub away the foundation and expose the redness when I try to blend. Do you have any tips on a better way to apply it? I've tried using my fingers, a brush, and a sponge.

  • hi lisa, av just started watching ur videos and their fanastic, very descriptive!

1 question am dying to get an answer to please, am 22 and have started to get fine lines under my eyes, my mac concealer doesnt fill it in but emphasis them! what can i do? i have combi oily skin so i use a powder foundation. thanks

  • Very good information, YouTube is so great for getting expert advice for free!!!

    Thanks Lisa!

  • that's a lovely top! suits you so well. :3

  • Hi Lisa, You have amazing skin and considering you have been a makeup artist for 20 years then, i am guessing what age you are. Is there any specific treatments/facials you go for that makes your skin so good? Therapie salon in Belfast has a facial called the Jetpeel and apparently, Angelina Jolie and Elle Macpherson are fans! Thank you. Shelley x

  • Where did you buy your shirt???/ Like it!!

  • What do you think of the Boots No. 7 or INGLOT illuminating concealer wands? I live in the U.S. and I can't get By Terry, much to my dismay. :(

  • Great Videos.... Can you suggest more drugstore brands for people who don't buy high end... That would be great!

    Thanks

  • Hello Lisa, thank you so much for the great videos and for sharing your tips with us! I have also a question to you... Could you maybe recommend some great make up schools in Paris? I have finished a basic make up course in my hometown and I would like to get further knowledge and training but I can't decide which ones are good. Thanks!

  • Hi Lisa,

Can you please recommend a foundation that is suitable for rosacea skin?

    Thank you!

  • What foundations do you recommend for people with acne? xxxx

  • @notetoselfimissyouxx have you tried Clinique's Anti blemish foundation? It has good coverage and treats the acne as you wear it due to the salicylic acid in the formula. x

  • @lisaeldridgedotcom Thanks so much! I'l try that :) xxx

  • Dear Lisa, thanks again for your very insightful videos! A "profane" question: recently I started using a sampler of Laura Mercier Secret concealer, tiny dots under my eyes, that I gently pat with my finger . So far, I like it quite a lot.... when you talk about "mixing" a thicker concealer with an illuminating one, is it layering, one after the other, or is it mixing them (as in on the back of my hand?..)... Many thanks again!

  • @benedettadc I mixx them together on my hand. A touch of the light reflective liwuid concealer will give the SC more slip x

  • @lisaeldridgedotcom : thanks Lisa! I will try it asap! :)

  • Hi Lisa, thank you so much for your wonderful tutorials, I have been following your blog since the beginning and really love all your videos and advises . Could you please recommend the shade of armani micro-fill loose powder for chanel pro lumiere 20 (claire), which one suits your skin? Would be also nice to see a video about your faavourite blushes :) .Thank you once again for your brilliant work and sharing your talent and knowledge with us. Greetings from Moscow, Russia.Tatiana

  • O.K. missy when is the Bourjois Health mix foundation coming out or is it only out in the U.K.?

  • @TheMoultonj its out now x

  • @lisaeldridgedotcom I couldn’t find it on the website or at the store yet. I’m in Canada, so I thought maybe we’ll be as slow getting this as we are the No7.

I love the 18 hour foundation for the morning after makeup you suggested.

  • hi lisa! i just wanted to say i emailed this video to my mom and she came home with loads of illuminating products today from no.7 and benefit, it was so cute! haha i know she really took your tips on board but probably doesn't know how to comment here so you must know this is invaluable advice and i'm glad she treated herself!xx

  • @selinajelibaby thats brilliant! x

  • So many of my favourite blogs were nominated in the cosmo blog awards but I HAD to vote for you. You are my favourite! Hope everyone does the same.

  • hey lisa

maybe this isnt very makeup related - but could you tell us what you do with your hair? what;s your natural hair texture?

  • Haha, I do recognize the 'investing' part. I am turning 30 next month and the first cracks and blotches are showing. So.... I am investing a good amount of money on make-up and good brushes these days :)

  • lol excuse my ignorance but how is it you don't have a background? like its just you in whiteness lol =P x

  • Great Video! im only 19 but i still found it very useful, i will share your tips with my mum :)

  • What colour of blusher is it? Thanks

  • Fabulous tips! I am 45 and having trouble with finding a foundation that's not too heavy or cakey looking, but can cover the hyperpigmentation I have from my pregnancies, as well as my rosacea (on cheeks). I hate the feel of heavy foundation and my skin has become really sensitive lately. I will have to look for a concealer pen, because when I wear the Bobbi Brown creamy concealer, it looks to cakey under my eyes, but I do need something for my dark circles. Thanks for sharing these tips!

  • Thank you very useful as always!

  • You are just brilliant.. I love your website.

I would love to see a film on anti ageing tips for Eye make-up. Brilliant

  • Hi Lisa! Another great vid, thank you! Definitely going to get my mum to watch this one too. Quick question, do you rate Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation? Thanks x

  • @roselovesparis yes its really excellent x

  • Id love it if you could do a review on your recommend essential make up basics,, maybe a high street and expensive option for each,,

    Thanks x

  • i love agree less is more especially with foundation

  • Hi Lisa, I was wondering if possible would you do a series of general makeup videos similar to this geared towards skin types e.g oily skin, normal, dry etc...

  • How do you know when a Concealer is light reflective?

  • @ivette818 light reflective ones tend to be the thin liquid ones that comes in pen style packaging x

  • I watched this video just for my mom <3 because i often do her make up for her and also so i can pass on the tips and tricks to her

    thanks so much lisa

    xo

  • Great talk...thank you

  • Thanks Lisa! Your video was very helpful!

  • Great! Thank you!

  • What colour do you have on your lips it really suits you!

  • Thanks Lisa for another brilliant video!

  • Another excellent video filled with words to live by!

  • Thanks so much for this :)

  • Thank you for this video! I think I'll need to email it to my mom. She thinks she needs to apply a ton of foundation (and in a very dark color too because of her sun spots) but I always thinks she looks younger with less.

  • Love every single video you do...you look beautiful in every video but with this is such a natural pretty lisa like when you used the by terry blush...You're such an inspiration to be timeless and classy. Thank you again, I can't wait for the next videos. Lots of love from a fan of Mexico =)

  • Thank you so much for these great tips.

  • Hi Lisa! Do you have any recommendations for a light reflective concealer pen that's not super expensive? Thanks!

  • Hi Lisa...I am only 20, but I have very large clogged pores on my nose. Is there any product that you would recommend for me to use before foundation to fill in my pores, so that foundation will look nice on my nose? Also, salicylic acid doesn't really help with my clogged pores...do you have any recommendations for that? Thanks.

  • what lip colour you wearing in this video?

  • Hi Lisa, thank you for the tips. I'm going to make my mother in law see this video... she is 69, has pigmentation all over her face and tends to go to too dark with the powder foundation to cover it. I'm planning to get her some products for a special event in december and I wanted to ask you... In this case, should I go for a medium coverage foundation and less concealer or a light coverage foundation and concealer all over? I'd love to hear your suggestions, thank you

  • I noticed your nails in this vid––are those the 'Romantique' (pinky-nude shade) Shellacs by any chance?!?!?? Just curious! :)

  • As I almost struggle in applying MUFE HD foundation and powder, I would ask if you could do an application demo, or give me some advices on how to apply it correctly. Thank you in advance.

  • Hi Lisa!! I am addicted to your channel! Thank you for doing this video.

As you age you still want to look and feel beautiful. Your tips are so very helpful.

    Please keep them coming..:)

  • I'm a believer in products that work from within––meaning you ingest them. My favorite 'anti-ager' is liquid fish oil. I drink a teaspoon each day. You might be thinking 'eww!' but I swear by it (and stand by it)! I've been taking it (Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega liquid is what I use btw) for a little over 2 yrs, and it has transformed the appearance of my skin, nails, & hair. I think skin (& hair & nails) benefits hugely from what you feed yourself and how you protect it from the elements.

  • Hi Lisa, thanks for these great tips - very helpful and informative. Kind Regards JA :o)

  • I found that Makeup Forever HD made my skin look too dry and emphasized lines.

  • Hi Lisa!

What do you think about Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Treatment Makeup for someone in 50... ?

  • Hi Lisa. I'm 45, with generally good skin (have always been sun vigilant so no wrinkles at all...yet) but it's still quite oily with what seem, to me, to be huge pores. My problem (well, one of the many) is that foundation seems to cake on my nose - JUST my nose. I've started using this tinted SPF50 by La Roche Posay, which is working well, but I would like to wear foundation in the evening. Am I using a too oily one, do you think? Many thanks.

  • what's on your lips? i love it also thanks so much for the very helpful tips! i will be telling my mother to watch this too! x

  • Hi Lisa! Your face looks gorgeous in this video. What are you wearing on it?

  • @CatSchmid MUFE HD foundation...very thinly applied x

  • @lisaeldridgedotcom As I almost struggle in applying MUFE HD foundation and powder, I would ask if you could do an application demo, or give me some advices on how to apply it correctly. Thank you in advance.

  • @CatSchmid She´s wearing Laura Mercier Cream blush in Oleander.

  • What do you think about the lines geared towards makeup artists like Cinema Secrets, RCMA, Graftobian, etc. ?

  • tks for your time and for sharing what you know with us. hi from Mexico

  • could you talk about any supplements you take if any for healthy skin, hair etc?

  • My mom has to see this video!

    Thx Lisa :-)

  • Hi Lisa. You're gorgeous and I love your videos. Thank you so much!

Can you recommend a drugstore brand light reflective concealer pen? Also, not sure what color to look for for under the eyes. Right now I use Bobbi Brown corrector in light bisque with a bit of MAC NW20 studio finish concealer (which is probably too much stuff). I'm 40 and I don't want to show my age but want coverage. :) Thank you for your help!

  • Hi Lisa,

I hope you don't mind me asking advice. I have oily skin at the moment with dry patches. What product(s) should I use to help with both. I suffer from the odd blemish so don't want to overly moisturise, but at the same time I don't want my dry skin to get worse. I'm struggling to cover it with foundation! Help xxx

  • loooooooooooooooooveeeeeeeeeeeeee your videos you are amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You look xtra gorgeous in this one Lisa!! Every time I see one of your videos it makes me so excited to put on my makeup for the day. Gives the passion a little more oompf...LOL! Can't wait to see your next vid!! xo

  • heey Xx

what would you say would be a good light reflecting concealer pen for a girl on a budget :D thank youu :D

    Xx

  • hi lisa!

thanks for this video. i am a super highly pigmented tomato so i have never been able to wear blusher without looking like a clown. i wear prolumiere, jill stuart and diorskin foundations which to some extent cover up my redness but in a matter of hours, even less, i can see the hideous pink/ red poping out. what do you recommend to do? i am in my mid 30s.

best of luck! and keep the videos coming :)

  • I'm 15 and i love your videos! They are so helpful and I tend to watch you because you know what you're talking about. :) you're gorgeous too! I ofcourse only take the tips that are appropriate for me! haha xx

  • you're wearing a blouse from whistles, i used to work there, i have a dress from the same line, :)

  • Thanks for the great video, can't wait for the eyes tips.

  • Hi Lisa! So I am doing my very first wedding makeup this Friday and one of the mothers has vveerrryyyy dark, wrinkly and puffy bags under her eyes. At the trial I applied the Mac Select Cover-up concealer using a concealer brush and then blending it out with a Mac 224 brush and lightly brushed a bit of powder over top but found that while the makeup decreased the darkness under her eyes, it also accentuated her wrinkles. What would you recommend?? Thank you so much!!

  • Hello Lisa! Thank you for such good advices! I have a question about the concealer. When you mix the light refective pen and the opaque concealer do you put both on your hand and then under your eyes? What is the best way to do it? Again thanks for sharing your knowledge and passion!

  • Great and very useful video :) I love the way you explain things.

(just a little thing : you actually made 2 typos in the names of the products : it's "Bourjois" instead of "Borjois", and "camouflage" instead of "camoflage" ;) )

  • Hi dear Lisa, I am 33 and never use foundation becz it make my skin cakey and breakout specailly under eyes but some times I go out I like use for that evening so my skin is combnation/dry do you recommend any good foundation and concealer,( im thinking of NARZ sheer glow) but no idea which concealer? also next week I will come to London for holiday, if you can tell me where's the best place shop for makeup and nice cloths will be very helpful, Luv as always

  • you are my makeup hero!

  • great video :)

  • hi lisa! great video as always! i can't find the video you mention at the very end, can you link it in the sidebar? thanks!

  • Hi Lisa! Great advice as always. I live in South America so some of the brands of foundation you recomend are not available here. Would you give some options in foundation, concealer, blush and powder in brands like Rimmel, Maybelline, Revlon, Lancome (more expensive) that are available here. Thanks a LOT. You are a rock n roll star

  • Hi Lisa,

I'm 36 years old and have very smooth skin (thanksfully!), but a little redness in my cheek area, some yellow around the eyes, and large pores in the nose and cheek area. I also tend to have more dry skin than oily skin, what would you recommend as a foundation? Also, are mineral foundations better for younger skin rather than maturing skin?

  • I believe you. You look great!

  • Love your top in this video! where is it from?

  • @mdd00mh Thanks ...Its from whistles but I got it last year x

  • How do you work on clients with ageing and/or crepey eyes with loose skin? Thanks!

  • hey lisa!

i love all of your videos.

could you consider doing a foundation/skincare video for acne-prone skin?

    would be great!

    thanks x

  • @chetite89 I'm planning this one...just looking for a model! Thanks for your comment x

  • @chetite89 yes im going to do this...just looking for a model! x

  • Is it kind of sad that a 20-year old like me follows these tips? I tend to only use concealer and blusher! Haha.

  • @angle021 I know plenty of 20 years olds who make themselves look 35 with make-up lol! x

  • @lisaeldridgedotcom Ah, they should watch this video haha! Your skin looks positively brilliant by the way, Lisa! =)

  • Hi Lisa, thanks for the video will definitely be sharing it with my mum!

I was wondering if you could recommend any eye creams for younger skin, im 20 years old and already worrying about under eye lines mostly from wearing contact lenses and rubbing my eyes constantly through my teens. Im willing to invest in a higher end cream if thats whats needed! Thank you :)

  • I have the most problems with redness and lines around the eyes. i hate getting older..... and yes makeup does make me look older.

  • great video! thank you

  • Your gorgeous Lisa!Amazing video!

  • Thank you so much! for such an AMAZING video! great tips :)

  • Since turning 42 I've had so much difficulty getting the base right, thank you SO much for this video! Every question I've ever had has been answered in one fell swoop!

  • Hi Lisa! Can you tell us how you apply your MUFE HD foundation? I know you mentioned investing in better tools as you get older so I was just curious if you just used your fingers, brush or sponge. I'm 38 and use MUFE HD but I leave it for evening because at times it seems to go on cakey in the nasal labial folds and around the chin.

  • @MommyLuvsMakeup you need to use VERY little MUFE HD foundation (probably about half as much as you think) as its richly pigmented. I dont ever apply it with fingers as the tendency is to use too much. Better to use a brush or sponge and spread it extremely thinly. Its a lovely smooth texture so you can really work it in thinly. x

  • great video thanks :o)

  • Thanks Lisa for replying back to me.

Will definitely follow your precious advice!

  • great video, you gave very useful tips, i always looking forward for your videos. i enjoy them very much. i just wanted to ask for your advice, can you tell me from your experience if the Makeup Forever HD foundation works on combo-oily skin. i always use the MAC prep and prime fowder after i put my foundation on.

  • Hi Lisa - thanks for such a prompt reply. I'm off shopping now!!! Caroline x

  • Thank you, thank you very much for making this video.

I'm 37 and I have noticed how I have had to change my makeup rutine lately since I'm no longer as young and firm as I used to be. I'm always flushed which is a pain (Due to MS)...so trying to even out the skintone is always the hardest with out it looking like a mask and this has given me many tips on how to adapt to my "new" face.

  • Thank you so much, that was very informative!

  • Fantastic video and perfect timing, Lisa!

I will be doing make up to my aunts (4 sisters) for a wedding in summer. Their ages are 64, 60, 56, 52. How can I get ready for it? What would you recommend to do ahead of time?

Surely, I will look at what they wear...I feel such a big responsability on my shoulder.

I wish I have half a talent you do have!!!!

    Thank You!!!

  • @TheSerenella66 have a look at my bridal make-up tips and tutorials and combine that advice with the tips in this video and you should be ok. Have fun! x

  • Hi Lisa. Another fab video. Need a new foundation and was going to try Chanel's Prolumiere (as recommended by you in other videos!) but have just watched this. What do you think of Prolumiere for mature (mid 40's) skin. I have uneven skin tone so need medium coverage but dislike that "cakey - put on with a trowel" look. I find a lot of foundations are too yellow (I was in the blue/red family when Prescriptives were still with us) so the right colour is equally important. Thanks Caroline x

  • @cac612 Pro lumiere would be great as its buildable so you can add more in areas where its needed and its definitely not a cakey foundation. Finding the right shade is very important so see if Chanel do a colour that matches your skintone then, depending on your skin type, you can choose a formulation to suit you. Pro lumiere is good for normal to combination, Vita is good for dry skin x

  • omg ... what a BRILL video ! So, so useful to have tips like this from a pro .... I'll be using them all - each and every one of them lol ;)

  • Another amazing video. I have very very dry area under my eyes, what kind of concealer do you recommend for me??

    Thanks xx

  • this is very informative!! thank you lisa!!! love you as always

  • This is so interesting...so helpful! Less is more. Thank u for doing this, it will help me choose better products and the tips are priceless! Def a fav!!!

  • very interesting watch, thanks for the tips :)
