Hey pretty good but you know instead of using a scanner im uploading the pictures to the pc with a canon camera And it works but you know when picture is on the stage Theres like a more transparent version of the picture under the normal picture but when i use the line tool on the original version of the picture it dosent works but it does works in the the transparent one how can i get rid of the normal picture and stay with the transparent version on the stage?

you don't have any choice? well if your not using a mouse you can use the 'ALT+' keyboard method and convert the symbols to tween's via the top menu, but goodluck to you if your not using a mouse.

at 2:28, how did you make the lines go from green to black? flash can't let me change the line color

You select the line(s) and then goto the colour swatch in the tool bar and select a different color, it wasn't as obvious because the video sped up that part, this was a video that I made in TAFE so it wasn't the best of productions.

Simply select the line(s) and as they are selected go over to the colour swatcher in the tool bar and select a different color. Apologies, this video I made in year 1 TAFE and it wasn't the best of productions, most of it was bad video editing.

It's not hard to draw and it took me a little less than 2 weeks to figure out how to draw my first character like the back of my hand. Question...

1. Could I simply import a colored picture from photoshop and use that to make tweens instead of drawing and coloring it by hand? Could I do this with backgrounds as well?

You can import a Psd file and all of its separate layers within Photoshop which should separate into different layers in Flash, you may need to rename the automated symbols usually the program makes it "Symbol 1" etc.

I am quite amazed by the amount of people with interest to my video, holidays are coming up so I plan to make another one, generally I never use photoshop files but by request I will be happy to do so, the principles of animation are still the same :)

Just skills 'baynig415' :P, I believe that there is possibly a "snap to" capability in the most recent flash, but otherwise you just align the shapes and lines using your finesse.

ive got loads of drawings but not a scanner

well its up to you, you can use your own initiative and create your drawings in flash using just your own eye.

Although I find that it can get hard or even annoying trying to endlessly define each shape of the character without a scan as a guide.

But I've known animators who can simply draw it using a etch-sketch pad and importing the drawing directly into any program perhaps thats the way to go for you.

what do most flash users do?..do they draw it and scan or draw it in flash itself??...amzin video btw really helped me understand a few things..im a beginner to flash and recently iv discovered im quite capable of doin things...=)

hmm, not all flash users do draw and scan, but from most animators that i know personally we all tend to draw our characters and scan them in, much quicker than guess work and trying to get the angles right. I draw alot so thats my style
