  • he certainly was a fasinating and well decorated man.

pity that it was all pointless - England today is a shithole overrun with immigrants and the British treated like 4th class citizens.

We have gone backwards, not forwards

  • i have a huge man crush on nelson. what a badass

  • @dmax631 he was

  • Hi all! Can I direct you to my new video? It's in the video responses. I'd be grateful for any comments you have! :)

    Thanks

  • second to none....we salute you lord horatio nelson

  • Check out your facts martinraaby before you post such tripe. Copenhagen was a significant and tricky battle and the victory was negotiated fairly cleverly. Read about it, it's interesting. You never know you could learn something.

  • Woo! Hundredth Comment! Thank you all who have watched and liked my video (despite the mistakes) !!!!

  • What then became of the French sniper I wonder?

  • get yourself a decent dictionary. the spelling is a mess

  • I cried its beautiful vido

  • for me its the best tribute to lord Nelson on the tube.

  • it is clear that Admiral Nelson was a great but it's also because he had many means at their disposal. Blas de Lezo in the battle of Cartagena de Indias was faced with only six ships and less than 3000 men against 24 000 English and your 186 ships, 186!! In trafalgar had 32 British ships against 33 allies. Tell me, what battle is more unbalanced?

  • @DCDVassili You should point out that Blas de Lezo had at his disposal hundreds if not thousands of land based canon and did not engage the British fleet on the high seas. He waited for the rainy season and for disease to set in among the Brits crammed aboard their ships; brillant tactics none-the-less. Also about 130 of the 186 British ships were unarmed transport and supply ships. At Trafalgar almost the entire Franco-Spanish fleet was sunk or captured without loss.

  • @DCDVassili trafalgar was an open battle, cartagena was a fortress so theres no point in comparing these two battles. and it was actually 33 against 41 at trafalgar

  • I respect England because of great men like Nelson. Outnumbered by two countries, and he still sent them away! :D

  • ey ey captain

  • The surrender Monkeys and the Spaniards will think twice before engaging Us in Naval Warfare ever AGAIN.

  • @coryrc1 easy to criticize french navy... UK wasn't surounded by land ennemies, france was, so it's normal that you have a better navy, your whole budjet goes to navy. (1805: france 45 old ships of the line, england 150)... and with spanish "allies" who despised us....

  • @Rostokouban actually France had a bigger land AND naval budget then Britain. British ships were considered inferior to French ships and Napoleon ordered HUNDREDS of ships of the line. Most British ships were floating wrecks that were left in harbour for years. So dont use generalised propaganda, read some real history about the subject

  • long live Horatio Nelson a true british hero

  • Hi again...

I didn't know those photos (6.35) of us were available on line. Acting as Nelson and, in this photo, as Fanny, or Frances Nesbit who became his wife Lady Nelson in 1787 - she famously made a sash with the name Nelson embroidered across it. This photo was...

  • ... taken in Nevis in the Caribbean, where we were invited to spend a week as guests of the island, and hosted by the wonderful Hofman Family of the Montpelier Plantation. We visited 13 schools on the island during that wonderful week, bringing to life Nelson's story and telling them of how he had met and fallen in love with Frances who lived on Nevis, when he was a captain. The second photo was taken whilst sailing up the Thames for the...

  • ....official launching of the "Year of Commemoration of The Battle of Trafalgar" which was held with the First Sea Lord and HRH the Duke of Edinburgh. It was also when we were forced (ridiculously!) to wear life jackets by the RNLI when they took us by launch for the last part of our journey! Can you imagine what our fearless Nelson would have thought... being represented wearing a life jacket on the calm River Thames! Great video... well done and thank you for including us!

    finni & Alex

  • HeHeHe! I don't think Nelson would have been at all impressed by having to wear a life jacket!

I'm going to Monmouth museum at the weekend. REALLY EXCITED!!!

  • great vid, for a great admiral, thanks for the post. The music by the way is very well thought out!!

  • Thank you very much! Incase you are wondering who I am, I made the video. I have a different account now. :)

  • One of the very best tributes to nelson on the tube. Great British Hero whos country owes a lot to. lest not forget what he did for us. RIP Lord Nelson

  • blas de lezo was better than nelson.

  • rrevved: I'm up for that room share. I live in Japan, but this can be done. I'll have a model of HMS Hermes in my corner, you'll have a model of the USS Enterprise in yours. We will talk late into the night, about our common histories and mutual respect. T.

  • and where is copenhagen? all the same its a great video with a perfect choice for background music

  • his first battle was st vincent not aboukir!!!

  • 1700 españoles le patearon el culo en Tenerife a los piratas ingleses y a tu gran comandante, el que se fué con un brazo menos...jajaja.

    Salve!

  • Unapologetic American of Scot descent here .. I would say that the saga of Lord Nelson and the British navy is without peer in naval, or perhaps even national history. The Brit that reminded us that 'we (the US) have no history' is mostly correct. Certainly not of the magnitude of the Brits and Europeans. Hell, we don't even seem to teach ours in our schools anymore. All that being said, Americans like the British and I think the feeling is mutual. Lets get a room ... :)

    Nice video!

  • rreved lol saxon squire from mizzou here yes lets get a room our ancestors fought against old boney to protect tru freedom whether its a caste or tru captialist system doesnt matter we owe men like nelson a debt of gratititude for sweeping the seas clean of frogs i dont think either of us would wish to see a guillotine in piccadilly or in old edwinsburgh for that matter sorry but scotlands capitol was founded by a saxon king edinburgh think on it

  • liberated Spain, defeated France. What more could you want?

  • Tu te drogas? XD A españa la liberaron españoles y portugueses. UK no hizo mas q entorpecer. Sobretodo Wellington...¬¬

No digas q derrotasteis a francia. La batalla de las naciones se llamo asi por algo...lo q menos habia ahi era ingleses...

  • Y bueno, no es solo por esa batalla. Generalmente fue asi.

  • Hehe French and the spanish got a good tanning.

  • Well said sir, well said.

  • Si, parece q los milagros existen.

  • Oh my daise, I knew A american would come and fuck it..Why don't you in-fucking-breeds go and watch something about your history..

    An't got any have you..

Thinkin you know it all about war, Let me tell you now, England is better then america and always will be, you ain't got it in you to stay alive, the words "The British are coming" made the world shake.

  • Te ekivocas. "The British are coming" hace al mundo reir...

  • oh george of the flood hey noah did u pay thru the nose for ur title? u pussy for us saxons ur history IS ours and we do it far more proper than u we live the viking past we also have a greater population so u r more inbred than us go fuck urself lord forest or whatever title u call urelf i am lord rivers not bcoz of connections but bcoz i control the cattle on the three rivers where im from god learn to use a sword or bow track a deer ur own ancestors norman or saxon would laugh at u pussy

  • A true patriot. Makes me even prouder to have English in me.

  • a true hero makes me proud to be english

  • Good video. Poor spelling though. Nelson spent his last night at the 'George' hotel not the Sally Port Inn. The George kept his room as it was but the hotel was bombed in WW2 and destroyed.

  • If you have no interest in Nelson why did you view this video? I've never heard of Blas of lezo and Alvaro of Bazan. They aren't world famous! Nelson was. He was supreme. Honestly I think you just jealous because England has a lot of history and has had many famous people. Continue worshiping Blas and Alvero, but do it somewhere else...

  • As I said before, they clearly had no effect on the world today and seem to be famous only in your country. Nelson completely distroyed the french and spanish fleet. He IS a hero.

This is a video about him so, to save us quarreling about who is better, go and worship your so called heros on a video about them because your comments are just a waste of space here.

  • @raerae469 he's spaniard so he is angry because Nelson destroyed Spanish fleet. xD

  • As an American, here's the reality. The English seem to always beat the Spanish!

The history of Spain is a sorry one.A history

of intolerance and 'looting' other nations.

    And here's some reality for you,if you'd

get rid of "Spanish Pride" & your intense

ego,you might be the people you 'think'you

    are.You're like a German lecturing a Russian.

Nelson was hero because he was courageous.

Cortez was a hero because he was courageous

And you are not, because you are a self important talker.

  • Adrian, I know you are angry with me because I defended Adm Nelson and the British against Spain. Sorry Pal. The only Americans that are in Spain are the criminals that Americans have banished. What a worse place to be banished to Spain and have to deal with the ego filled Lillaputian Spanish. And remember this ass boy, we Americans had to defeat you pigs and throw you out of North America and Pacific. Don't get us angry or we will go over to Spain and do it again!
  • These proud of that your country steals to other poor countries ...... and I assure you that there are thousands of english men and yankies in my city "Malaga wine" españa the first world power domain control of the seas (1492 - 1805) the soldiers mas respected of the world, body to body, I sit down the proud person of the world, your very graceful commentaries, you pride of dropping bombs atomic, "cowards" your country was stopping being powerful very soon,

  • I think we are going to bomb you! We may not be powerful very soon, but as long as there is a Spain, we won't be at the 'bottom of the barrel." Spanish lecturing any nation, after their cruel looting and enslaving of the South American Indians, is like the pot calling the kettle black. For people with few accomplishments, other than looting and inquistional intolerance, you have a lot to say about others. Your glory is in the past, you are modern day 'hobo's' with attitude!
  • Mas wanted your to live through the half of good which I am, the Spanish was mixed by the Indians, the english men they were killing all, my current life is better than that of any yankie, I ask you that after-tastes of being an idiot with your commentaries, you you do not deserve my answers, your commentaries are senseless me rio de las tonterias que hablas jaja payasoo!!!

  • Well said man.

  • this man would cry if he saw the state of the navy today and especially if he new that the Victory is gonna be sold to mcdonalds...

  • May Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson live forever in our minds. May we love him, and his memory, and pay tribute to him at Nelsons Collumm

  • Lord Nelson= Legend.

His victory against French and Spanish at Battle of Trafalger saved England been invaded for sure. God bless him.

  • i slaute you sir for keeping nelsons memory alive. in an age of rampant political correctness its nice to see his life still celebrated. he truly epitomised all that was great about england, and was arguably the greatest briton ever

  • Thank you. I salute u back! Nelson was supreme and in my opinion da greatest person to walk on this plannet. Nelson 4 eva!

    P.S. I'm a girl LOL!

  • hahaha. thats does surprise me, but im doubly impressed none the less. tell me!......how did a young girl become interested in nelson? (im assuming your young)im a member of the nelson appreciation society, and probably the only member under 50 and without a beard :-)

  • LOL. I first became intrested a few years ago at the 200th anniversary of Trafalgar. We learnt a bit about him at school and I've been a fan of his ever since! I don't know any other 12 year olds who R interested in him. I think most kids think I'm strange.

  • Whats the music?

  • NELSON FOREVER!!!

  • I'M GOING TO KILL MYSELF!!!

  • He was a great man..no doubt about that..Thankyou

  • ships captured. 476 dead or wounded French/Spanish, 800 Surrendered.

British loss 39 dead, 159 wounded.

  • Royal navy took Blas de lezos eye and arm, and was killed at battle of Cartagena, but nobody knows his buriel site today, while Nelson is at rest in St. Pauls Cathedral, London.

Nelson is a legend, his 27 ships decisevely defeated French/spanish 33 ships at Trafalger probebly one of the most famous sea battles of all time.

But 3 months before Trafalger, British navy defeated France/Spain yet again at Battle of Cape finistere where Britains 15 ships defeated France/Spains 20 ships. 2 Spanish

  • Can anybody tell me how many royal marines/infantry men were on a single ship during a battle?

  • Different ships, different numbers. Victory was one of the biggest. At Trafalgar 821 men total, 146 of them marines from the Chatham division.

  • Thankyou

  • Normally Royal Marines were in companys of 90 men on ships back in these days, but it altered depending on the ships company, and of course whether it was war or peace time.

  • Thankyou

  • nelson was a fckin hero so all u twats who thought blao de lezo was better fck u

  • Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I must say that Nelson is world famous. I cannot say however, the same for Blas De Lezo

    Sorry if this offends you.

  • Blas De Lezo was the best admiral ever ! and not Nelson. Blas de Lezo humiliated all the english pirates and ships always counting with less men to fight and less ships! In the battle of jenkins ear the british had the best ever seen fleet and blas de lezo humilitated them with inferior navy and persons ! why in england they hide this? That was when the british fleet was Defeated by Blas de Lezo , the most epic naval victory ever !in 1741! cartagena de indias !

  • Not quite a true picture of Emma - not exactly a "lady" other than in title - she was a former whore who wormed her way into Nelson's affections to feed off his prizes and keep him eternally in debt. Nelson's treatment of his wife when he simply discarded her to chase after Emma was scandalous. A great sailor perhaps but not much of a man.

  • man make an effort on something else.

  • "Bonaparte has often made his boast that our fleet would be worn out by keeping the sea and that his was kept in order and increasing by staying in port; but know he finds, I fancy, if Emperors hear the truth, that his fleet suffers more in a night than ours in one year."

By God, he did his duty. An Individual that Truley fits the description of Legend. God save him and Lest we forget!

  • What a hero, beat the mighty French, and spanish together at Trafalger. But Napoleon knew he was never going to get anywhere near the Royal Navy, the battle of the nile proved that when they totally cut Nappy off in Egypt. But after Trafalger the seas were very quiet for many years after.

  • I'm related to his fine fine man

  • (continued from below comment)The proof of this is that it was transformed into the Commonwealth in which every former colony is a member of freely assenting nations. The Spanish empire only covered South and Central America, and the Spanish Sahara, and was overthrown militarily. All other empires fell by the sword!

    All the best

    finni (and Alex!)

  • Look forward to seeing more of your videos, keep up the good work. It is interesting to see the debates that have been sparked off here! Alex wants a word now...Incidentally it is an historical fact that the British Empire was the largest empire the world has ever known, the last empire, and the only one in history not to have fallen by military defeat...

  • Well Done Rachel! Your choice of music for this video is superb... and thank you for including Alex (Naylor) and me (finni golden) aka Nelson and Emma in your tribute to His Lordship. The first photo was taken in Nevis, in the West Indies, when we were on tour as Nelson and Fanny (Nevis is the island Fanny came from). We even stood under the very tree where they were married... The second photo was taken at the official launch of Trafalgar 200 on board HMS Pickle on the Thames in London.

  • agree!

  • terrorist why? because he defeated you lot at copenhagen

  • Denmark was neutral at 1801. Thus the attack at their unprepared fleet was only comparable with Germanys attack against Poland or Belgium.

  • hey...turns out i am related to lord nelson!!

he my grandmothers great great great uncle or somthing

  • Well get a fork , then poke your right eye out of its socket , then get a chainsaw and completely sever you`re arm from the bone at the shoulder...then you should go to nearest place that " hoodies" occupy...and say `HOODIES YOU ALL DIE !!!THATS WAT NELSON DID

  • Admiral Rook beat this french/spanish fleet by taking their Gold and other treasure at the battle of "vigo bay" 1702 then burnt and destroyed the spanish/french fleet. This was part of the war of the spanish succession, which Britain won along with the dutch.

  • navastolosa1212 you are the chauvinistic joke. If memory serves right the Royal navy took Blas De Lezos eye, and leg in combat. If you want a real sea wolf look no further than not just nelson (The nile 1802, and the most important sea battle at the time Trafalger 1805) but Admiral Sir George Rook who not only played a large part in the capture of Gibralter 1704, but also thrashed the arses of the spanish/french treasure fleet.

  • grow up moron

  • navastolosa1212 spain ,dont make me laugh, you were great ,once, until a certain elizabetn 1 stood up to you,yes we may have had defeats to spanish but,in all the main battles ans wars youve came second best ,sea wolves weve had buckets full ,sir francis drake, raliegh, henry morgan, rodney nelson etc etc ,compare your empire to ours ,no contest

  • Please research: Reconquista NAvas de Tolosa, 1212 Granada, 1492 Battle of PAvia Battle of Punta Delgada Lepanto Battle of BAilen Spain won the Anglo-Spanish War 1590-1604 !n 350 years you only took JAmaica Spain had 5 million poeple in 1500 and was the FRONTIER with moors (our real enemies). You were lucky: an island sorrounded by Christian nations.
  • Love it - but the spelling and syntax are abominable...

  • like dude im a 11 and i allready know that i got some spellings wrong

  • I`m English and have always thought that Nelson is the appitomy of our culture,,,loved your vid ..it was well done...a few years back we had a show where u cud do a fone in to vote ur best Brit...I foned 3 times 2 vote Nelson..He deserves it...Shit , wat a guy !!! P.S Check his death mask out on Google
