Thank you for making this film. Charles Mingus is such a great composer and artist...I've been listening to him for 25 years...Not a lot of music is filled with so much energy and soul.

Too bad he didn't have the recognition he deserved in 1965 and was obliged to have a break in his phenomenal career.

George Russell also was obliged to fly to Norway.

Nice to see Keith Richards and Charlie Watts say their love for the great Charles.

Dudes I love Keith and the Stones more than I can tell you in words but that was one of the shittier faux-jazz guitar solos I've ever heard. Lennon's 20 second farted-out masterstroke on "Honey Pie" wipes the floor with it easily. It's pretty rare that a rock musician can play this music, or vice versa, for that matter, and who cares? Why do people still feel the need to borrow whatever cachet jazz has left?
