  • 2012 is comming !

  • interesting note: jet li was in Maldives during the tsunami.

  • i am from Singapore and i was very concerned if that would hit our tiny island back then

  • what is wrong with my left ear????

  • Great documentary, I especially liked the cacophony of special effects, over-the-top dramatic music and the growly-voiced presenter who hams its up and pretty much shows no respect for a total disaster but turns it it into entertainment... go National Geographic, yay!

  • it is off the ricter skill, wtf?!

  • This wierd, ibu litterally means mother, or miss. not a name.

  • 27:08 how can an island tilt

  • The earthquake of 2004 is the 2nd strongest earthquake in history

  • Love it that people do not how to edit sound in video....

  • Water, so much water

  • Sound is only on the right channel.

What happened? Other videos are fine so it's not my machine.

  • And I thought my headphones had shat it :-) Same here, what gives?

  • I doubt the man in 13:52 looking at the wave and sitting there as it comes to sweep him died by drowning, I would assume a wave crashing into a human llike that at that speed, with tha kind of force behind it is like getting hit by a speeding city bus.

  • this documentary is shit. full of false information. Like the fact that a 'huge' wave starts in the middle of the ocean. it doesn't start as a huge wave at all.

  • @guiguox I think they mean huge in comparison to waves normally seen in the middle of the ocean.

  • @mallikahd do they?

  • @guiguox I said "I THINK" ;)

  • i didnt watch the whole thing

  • i just don't like some of the american narrators..they sound a bit too over-dramatized for me..don't get me wrong pls

  • it took a day an a half for the Australian media to report this after it happened, hence why we have not bothered turning the tv on in over 2 years.. wld highly recomend it, who needs mind control!!!

  • omg he can't say Sri Lanka

  • I pray to god that everyone who died in this disaster may rest in peace

  • @Attaxable Your God seems to have little respect for the lives of many innocent people.

  • @dilwich123 Ermm , I don't believe in god . Kay bye

  • @Attaxable the god who allowed them to be killed?

  • @chubas41 No idea ???

  • teach your kids to swim ASAP because if they ever fall in water or get pushed or water finds them they will die. FIND SWIMMING TEACHER"S

  • @poorsillyboy do you even know the facts behind a tsunami??? even experience swimmers can die in a tsunami.... brainless

  • @poorsillyboy That's for floods... not tidal waves/tsunamis.

  • @poorsillyboy kinda hard to swim with cars, debri, trees, nails, and everything in the water.

  • rest in peace for those who are gone. their memories will always stay with us.

  • No Sound

  • I remember that Christmas Day (before church) Reading a small 12-15 line article in the Brief Section. All it said that there was a 9.1 near Indonesia and that no other info has gotten out....

I said SH** out loud, and got yelled at by my Mother. I looked dead at her, pointed at the article, and told my mother that I should of dropped and F bomb, there would be at least 100K dead from this. She didn't believe me.

Then she saw the images in the news the next day, then she understood.

  • If anybody wants to know this question, I have the answer Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, and Thailand. I hope that answers your question(s).

  • Thanks for uploading!

  • @myownservant GO FUCK YOURSELF!

  • Mono = sucks

  • Just an awful event. Thank God it hasn't happened since, or someone would be trying to convince us it was due to global warming, trying to con us out of money and control what we're doing.

  • @daw162 japan?

  • This isn't the deadliest natural disaster in history or even recent history. Listverse's "Top 10 Deadliest Natural Disasters" has it as ninth. The deadliest was a 1931 flood that killed 1-4 million people. This doesn't even come close.

  • @Elemarth

    where did it happen?

  • @eurythorpe China. The deadliest floods always seem to happen in China.

  • @Elemarth well that has far less to do with the actual floods and much more to do with China's enormous population.

  • @stewartx5 Did you read the whole comment thread? I was asked a question to which the answer was China.

  • @eurythorpe This one happened in Indonesia.

  • Malaysian rescue team is the earliest team to arrive in the scene. True story.

  • @MohdAriffBinIshak no one gives a shit about malashitya
