start with something completely badass... stardust memory. then knock yourself out with a dosage of Zeta gundam (watch the compile movies if ur lazy to run through 50 episodes). followed by reading the crossbone gundam manga, which was poorly drawn but still completely badass to the core. after that, you may want to give one of the shitty alternate universes a go if u feel like it, but i suggest sticking to the series that doesn't suck. and yes, gundam does have shitty times

I just finished Zeta Gundam. It was fucking awful. Terrible pacing, bland direction, too many pointless battles and none of the (new) characters were very good except Emma and Haman. Tomino was a poor director and a worse writer.
SEED is shit and 00 is disappointing, but you're fooling yourself if you think the older shows are much better.
orly? Have you seen all 110 episodes of Legend of the Galactic Heroes? I'm going to guess not. Or all 74 episodes of Monster? Or Tokyo Magnitude 8.0? Or Moribito, or Twelve Kingdoms? Tell you what, go and watch Kemono no Souja Erin, it has more legitimate tragedy and emotion in one episode than Zeta Gundam has in 50. And it's a kids anime.

I do agree with you, but your comment previously could have been better said with this response. To be honest, I think Gundam started to go downhill following Turn A. Everything before Turn A Gundam, including the first few Alternate Universes were really good, especially Wing and X. But yes, most of Gundam today is really about the model kits. Then again it's somewhat always been that way.
