Well I didn't say hammer is the best but the fastest method differs against all monsters. Tigrex is fastest with GS. Akantor is fastest with Hammer, etc...

GS is after the hammer THE rawdmg weapon. But it takes time to learn how to use it ;)

i killed a hr6 garuga in 6 mins and 28 secs, with holy sabers, mega juice, 15 lightning rods, which i made in quest and powercharm, oh and with rathian with autotracker. but sweet time for hr8.

Sometimes Other Weps Are Better Or Faster Or With Some Weps It Takes Hours Of Practice And Expertise
