That is the previous generation Lego Mindstorms. The so called RCX. It translates the old RCX rotation sensors signals (attached to the minifigs) into a signal for the NXT. At that time there was no software routine available to do this translation in the NXT itself. Today there is. So using the RCX is not required anymore.

than you wouldnt need any bullets and you could just shoot until you need to reload( just like a real gun. the touch sensor has to know when you reload.)

and if it knows where you aim and it knows where the targets are, than i would just be so cool!

What kind of sensor did you use to control which men where shot and which were not?

The minifigs are mouted on an axle, which is mounted through a RCX-Type Rotation Sensor. When a minifig falls, the axle rotates 90 degrees... =HIT!

Well, I needed the RCX for conversion of the RCX Rotation Sensor signalling towards the NXT. Nowadays you have special NXT-G Software blocks to do that trick and you don't need the RCX Brick anymore...

De poppetjes staan op een as, die as draait telkens wanneer een poppetje omvalt. Aan de as zit een RCX Rotatie Sensor. Die kan je met een speciaal kabeltje aan je NXT verbinden. Destijds bestonden de SW-Modulen voor RCX Sensor ondersteuning nog niet dus heb toen een RCX ingezet om de signalen te vertalen voor de NXT. (Nu zou je geen RCX Unit meer nodig hebben). De constructie kan je om mijn website zien.
