  • nice, got a non turbo coupe quattro myself, s'pose i should put some tlc on it, i got it 10 yrs ago, with 2 previous keepers, havent used it much, shame really, its got loads of atitude

  • i "just" own a 5 cylinder in my 91' Audi 80 ... and it rocks! i cant wait to get my car fixed and back on the road in summer!! somehow i badly want a coupe GT... but jesus.. they are rare and cost a lot of money... even here in germany... :O

  • This is not a car, THIS IS SEX!!!

  • hell yeah :D

  • what a piece of shit lol. sounds like an rc car hahaha

  • @peterd91qq what an idiot! You obviously can't understand nothing about cars! Carry on playing san andreas!

  • @peterd91qq You are an idiot dude. This is the specific sound of a 5 Cylinder engine which is better than V4 or V6 'cause it have more torque and power.

  • 5 cylinder all the way!!! Carmakers need to get rid of their raspy, buzzing 4 cylinder engines for base models, and start using 5 cylinders...carmakers need to appreciate the symphony of 5 cylinder engines!!!

  • @grvity33 Well said, couldn't agree more.. All it takes is just one more cylinder and every motorist will feel a whole lot better about his daily commute. :) lol Even a 5 pot diesel is a sound to love.

Did you know that ford are scrapping the volvo 5 cylinder engine from there focus ST/RS models? in favor of a 4 pot? Such a shame :'( and will loose so much character .

  • @MGazT WHAT ??? Serious ? >.< its the best engine volvo have ever made lol

  • @grvity33

I like the 5cylinder soud also , but 4cylinders buzzing?

You never heard a subaru engine ( flat 4 or H4 ) on the dyno ;)

  • @pa2ru I stand corrected, it's Inline 4 cylinders that sound harsh. But the Subaru H4 engine sounds amazing.

  • Just got my Quattro back from the shop today! New clutch kit and some other goodies thrown in. I've got 193,000 on mine and as long as I can get parts, I'm never going to let it die. I've watched this video easily 10 times and from :50 it still gives me goosebumps. Old-school Audis > All.

  • should of covered the mic on the cam to stop distortion nice engine dad used to have one of these

  • its hard to beat that 5cyl engine sound. love it.

  • is there a Coupe owners club in UK? Me and my mate are thinking to create one if there isn't!

  • Damn, that thing sounds like a Dodge Viper

  • hi there im just finishing off mine just about to respray ! i just cant wait to drive it !! absolutley amazing motor ! bring back the sounds of the 80`s .. nice one mate

  • Omfg i miss my 2.2 4000S

  • Oh my, I was sat watching the video and listening to the engine and it just keeps revving higher and higher and higher and higher, wondering when it was going to run out of steam, and i was half expecting there just to be a huge explosion lol.

  • This has to be one of the nicest noises I have ever heard...

  • @Prisoner747 Thanks for the comment m8.. :)

  • @MGazT I just bought one yesterday!!! 1985 2.2 quattro!!! My dream came true!!! Cant wait to collect it from Wales! I have to restore it and look after this baby! I'm so happy!!!!

  • @Prisoner747 It is the niciest noise.... It's not even a noise, it's a music!!! I bought exactly the same one two days ago...! My dream came true!...

  • does anyone know what bovs will go on these?

  • @454sskilla any blow off valve would work. theyre all universal.

  • Greatest engine ever. The legend goes that Audi asked Porsche to develop the RS2, thinking they would use their latest V6 engine, after some tests Porsche stuck with the 5.

  • I'm lucky enough to have two UrQ's, and although this isn't the turbo Quattro..........you just GOTTA love that noise! I never get bored of it...I go out driving with some music on, and end up turning it off and listening to the engine instead! It's orchestral!

  • @bearman74 Stereo down, window open, you can't beat that five pot warble...

  • but that was amazing!!!

  • Werry good car ;)

  • thanks :)

  • @MGazT really love these classic want an s1sport quattro ur i think but can't help thinking buy the time i get one say 5-6 years the milage would be silly high not to metion it would not be as fast as before what are they like for tunning back up or even engine conversions ?

  • @slickman78 if its been looked after, I really wouldn't worry about the mileage, even 5-6years. mine has done over 200,000miles still makes its stock power and shows no sign of letting go any time soon.

As for tuning, the easiest & cheapest way to go for more power is fitting a 20valve 5 cylinder turbo engine. 230bhp standard, and the ECU can be remapped to 297bhp without even having to change anything in the engine. but you will need a better intercooler. engine will cost £800 & remap £250

  • @MGazT arh thanks for the help think im def gonna have to get one such cult cars

  • wow.. i almost orgasmed lulz, beutiful audi, i love the sound, i almost cried, its so beutiful...

  • i cried wen i sold mine 15 years ago

  • I regret selling mine 22 years ago.......mine was Mars Red with the decal Audi rings on the lower part of the door.

  • I'm thinking of getting the rings for the bottom of the doors, like my bros old GT. :)

If you regret selling your audi, maybe buy another? ;) they are cheap enough. Could use it as your weekend toy maybe?

  • Thats a good idea! Maybe I need to do that one day soon...........

  • niiiice ! had the same coupe but not quattro (u can see it in my videos) instal turbo inti

  • SWEET BABY JESUS that sounds awesome...

  • An inline 5 is sounds very similar to a V10 engine. So, the inline 5 is also known as a Poor Man`s V10. Friend`s volvo s80 2.5 5 cyl sounds like v10 when he floors it.

  • Well firstly I wasn't driving it. lol

& secondly i don't consider it to be 'abuse'.

Its acctually perfectly normal for the rolling road operator to take a vehicle to the rev limiter..

That way, you get to see where the engine starts loosing power, and by how much.

Why would u want to pay for an incomplete graph?

+u also need to calculate transmission losses to work out the correct power at the fly wheel.

P.S Cardiff's westec rolling road is crap. said i had 194bhp on a standard engine.WTF

  • i thought quattros when standard do produce 200bhp.

  • Coupe quattros are not turbo charged.

  • im sure they are?

  • And yet they aren't. I own a Quattro. The Coupe Quattro was the coupe version of the 4000 quattro or the quattro version of the Coupe GT. It was not turbo charged like the Quattro (Ur Quattro). The Coupe Quattro was never imported to the States but I have heard tell of some in Canada.

  • hi, easy mistake to make, this is the original 'coupe quattro', but not the UR Quattro. It is almost identical in shape and running gear to the turbo UR Quattro, except for the 4 stud hubs (instead of 5) , the NA 136bhp KV 2226cc 5 cylinder engine (instead of turbo MB/RR etc) , and the lack of the flared 'box shape' wheel arches. & as already stated, it was never sold in the states. :)

  • what's the name of the colour!

    I like ur CAR! :)

    Regards

  • Lago blue.. whats the colour of yours? ;)

  • I think it's one of the best colours on an Typ81/85

Mine is Lago Blue too ^^

  • VW engineering, baby.

  • I love 5-cylinders have a look at mine 101bada55

  • i want a car like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you won't regret it if you do :)

  • is that kv engine? How much Hp?

  • nice car!

I'm thinking of buying one myself actualy

  • do it.. ;) you know you want to..

  • @MGazT

better rename to "dyno" not rolling road... he he :-)

  • @MGazT i have one right now and its a racecar ill try to put a vid on here of it but yea it the same thing 5 cylinder overhead cam

  • @JSPRFRDKS I bought one yesterday! Very hard to find these days... I bought an unfinished project, but I'll do everything to get it back on the road!!! Love these cars!!!! Much more than I love my gf!!!!! lol

  • how much hp would a standard audi gt have

  • 136 bhp and 137 lb/ft standard.

all i have is iTG pro air filter, and an exhaust of unknow origin. lol (was like it when i bought it)

  • Nice car, had a coupe quattro a few years ago, with a TSR stage 2 head and some other minor mods. Had about 160bhp, it really opened up that 5 cylinder nicely, i found the normal engine a little asthmatic (for want of a better word), trouble was some fucking cab driver t-boned me at some lights, man i still miss that car, even after owning two imprezas one with 300bhp.

  • I know what u mean ;) In germany, on some tuning-meetings, u can test your car on dyno for free. 70ltr...lol :D

but nice car- 5 stars* :)

  • hp ?

  • well, 189 BHP @ 6851 rpm and 143 lb.ft Torque @ 6500 rpm.

i would of put the result in the description but i DON'T BELIEVE IT! i drive it and i know its not that powerful, + it wouldn't make its max power/Torque at the redline. Gutted cause it cost me a whole 70Ltr tank of fuel to drive to Cardiff and back. + 25 pounds it cost for the power run. :(

    Not going to Westec again.

    Total waist of money.

  • @MGazT

Yes, I'm afraid that sounds totally wrong. If you had that kind of power, you'd be capable of a genuine 140mph and 0 - 60 in about 7 seconds.
