actually, he only had 301 minerals before the pheonix were in production, he did have a gateway in production that he could have cancelled to get enough minerals, but I guess he didn't catch it before it finished up.

@rkid1296 Hydra's rip all terran infantry, I've seen Idra play them early in response to an early hellion/marauder push and dominate. Problem is that siege tanks MELT hydras and as terran players like to get them out early off one base in TvZ a lot its often a risky strategy.

The few times I have seen them they've have been fairly effective (they usually don't kill me but they cause me to take a step back and change up my strat a little bit). I think spore crawlers are a bit underpowered--especially considering they are one of zerg's only early anti-air. They need to extend the attack range on those things.

@Zeuts85 uhm no.. how are they underpowered. They are the only Base Air defense that you can uproot and move. That's what balances them out. You can also transfuse them instantly.

@bubba18sar I don't think they're a LOT underpowered, but I do think a range increase of 1 would be quite fair. Being able to uproot isn't all that useful when you're under assault from voidrays unless you have so many spore crawlers that you can afford to lose a few while they're rooting back down. Transfuse is nice, but it also costs a lot of energy that queens often don't have. Does it beat being able to repair? Not to mention, spore crawlers consume a drone which is very costly.

@Zeuts85 First off scouting will keep you from these situations. If you scout the 2 stargates then you can have enough units queens/hydras/spores out in time to not have to worry about uprooting. As far as the Queens not usually having enough energy? .. again that comes down to scouting. The transfuse is FREE since it is just energy where as repair takes away minerals.. so yes... transfuse is better than repair anyday. Spore crawlers consume a worker but only cost 75 minerals..

If my argument were "spore crawlers are so underpowered that there's nothing a player could possibly do to make it worth having them" then maybe your counter arguments would carry weight. Suppose spore crawlers had a range 1 less than what the currently have. Would they be underpowered then? Or would you be making the same pseudo-relevant arguments you're making right now?

@Zeuts85 I understand the lost worker.. Terran pays 25 more minerals for there turrets and they have to build them which also = lost mining time. You can also MOVE your spores! Do you understand how important that is? You are looking at it from just an Anti-air perspective. What about Anti-Dt's? or banshees? Moving that spore is super important for detection. If it was 1 range less than I would say that is imbalanced but seeing as how all Anti-Air has a range of 7 I think it's balanced.
