It's a midi controller meaning it can send note on note off and etc. to any software that responds to midi commands. I have no idea about audacity. But u can download the fl studio demo from flstudio . com and just set up the FPC plugin like this guy /watch?v=aEJLTDoBwZs

@deejayTrips if you are planning on using it in a live environment then i would get the 32. If you just need pads to bang samples in get the 24, 26 or 18. Honeslty. When im jsut making beats in my studio for songs I barely use the sliders and knobs and buttons. They do come in handy and give more options if you care coming up with a way to actually perform with it.

@SgtPwnzor1 My best analogy for the MPD is... It's like and xbox controller for an xbox. The brains and all the sounds come from the computer. It can be used with all kinds of different music production applications. You can customize to work with each program however you want. There is really not much about the device itself to learn other then changing each knob, pad, slider or buttons midi parameters to match up with your application to control it.

@SeKo2o3 its a controller. Thats like saying you bought a video game controller and you dont know how to play the games. You need to learn the software. I use it with FLstudio. I Put the sounds on the pads using the FPC channel. Or the slicer. search "MPD FPC" on youtube. Or look at the few demos I made on my channel.
