Linda is great, I have always loved the dirt band,, met them once at a very small venue (maybe 200 people) supper nice guys, they all signed the back of my 64 reissue Strat. Only concern they had was if I was going to sell it, like that is going to happen.
This is from the old Don Kirshner Rock Concert Shows. I remember watching this when I was a kid! My parents let me stay up "late" when it was on! Saw many good performances - including this one! LOVE Ronstadt & the NGDB!!
Great voices. They melt together like butter in an iron skillet. Fun to see John play the guitar like a lap steel. And of course, the fiddle of Vassar Clements is always a joy to hear and see.
Happy wife, happy life. Always good to check with the other half to see if you can sing a song with Linda R....yikes. He couldn't even get a reach around with all those people watching.lol....It kinda looked like Linda was trying to get him in shizzle with the eye contact and knowing his wife would prolly say something....I wonder if wifey was at rehearsal and saw Linda and him doing the eye thingy.
I'd say '69 - 72. The Nitties were from Long Beach, Cal, and went from folk-rock (Buy For Me The Rain) to total country (Will the Circle Be Unbroken) somewhere about that time. Linda had left the Stone Poneys behind and lots of rockers were getting into country due to the influence of the Buffalo Springfield who blazed that particular trail. I had forgotten that she ever appeared with the Nitties at all. I'm getting old, but at least the music is immortal.
WOW great rendition of a supertune from the best country rock record ever, Symphonion Dream by the NGDB, the Sgt.Peppers of country rock, no less. Funny the way Linda & Jim disguised the mistakes when singing some parts. Far far away beautiful days.
NGDB..the greatest modern country band.. but Vassar as great a player as he was, somehow never looked a part of the team. Will the Circle be Unbroken is an all-time classic
There is now a brand new 6-CD box set of "Will The Circle Be Unbroken?" Many stars appear as guests, including Roy Acuff, Ernest Tubb, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, even John Denver. The sixth CD is a wonderful DVD celebrating the third installment of "Circle." It is a MUST HAVE for the serious bluegrass enthusiast.
I have this one as an mp3, and have looked to find the clip for years - thank you for putting it up! The mp3 says it's Linda with J.D Souther (which may be incorrect) but it would explain his opening comment. Does anyone know if this is him in the clip with her?
Have a look at my channel, I have a Jimmy Ibbotson/NGDB song posted you can see it is the same person. Also put Jimmy Ibbotson into the youtube search box and you will find more from him. Ally.

Even talents of this magnitude make mistakes. It's fun to watch them laugh at theirs.
