you dont even need to download stuff to play videos. i put in my SD card from my vid cam and i can watch the vids on it.

@gundamseed64 That is because the videos you record from your camera are in a .avi format that the wii plays, other videos e.g. you make, from youtube etc. cannot just be converted to .avi and play on the wii so you need wii video 9. Trust me, I know stuff :P

You have to make it either a Quick Time format or use Wii Video 9 to convert it. It looks like an AVI file but it doesn't work just stand alone, something was changed in the file to work on the Wii

As easy as this is im having a problem with it. Ive put the quality on every setting and it still makes an ouput in the highest quality. Its taking a 800mb video and making it 2.5gb! Does this thing suck or is it just my version?

it sucks, because it's converting a video file to a moving jpeg file. they take up more space and dont have great compression (that's why nobody uses it).
