  • The text of the song adresses a "kid" to alert him about the state of the world that adults will leave to him.The 1st part deals with the story of the humans when they arrived on Earth and had messed up the whole balance of the nature. The 2nd imagines the future of the men if they continue to do so and how the "kid" will try to warrant to his grandchildren why he did nothing to prevent it.The 3rd concludes with a declaration on the selfishness of humans and leans more towards pessimism

  • I Love this Song

  • tres belle chanson merci.

  • Very nicely done

  • Great French song but, am I to assume that the songwriters didn't use paper?

  • Can you explain?

  • i guess it's because the song is about environment and its destruction by human beings. using paper is bad for the environment, so the comment was probably a cynical comment from somebody who obviously doesn't care much about environment protection...

    the only explanation i have...

  • bravo !!!

  • thomxxx,

Thanks for posting the lyrics. I watched the original video by Mickey 3D and it's amazing!!! Without Scala I would not have found this great song.

  • Check out also the original video of this song, it's a wonderful 3D animation that you have to watch until the end.. (look for "Respire Mickey 3D" in the search box :p)

  • Sometimes assassins, and well unable to look at trees without feeling guilty Half defrocked and 100 percent miserable And so there you have the story of the human being It isn't pretty at all and I don't know the end You weren't born in a cabbage patch but rather in a hole That we fill up everyday like a pit of manure You have to breathe And that's saying a lot You aren't going to die from laughing It's tomorrow that everything will worsen
  • They'll say to you "How could you have let this happen?"

And you will defend yourself, telling them very quietly

"It isn't my fault, it was the fault of the old ones"

But there won't be anyone left to wash your hands

You will tell them about the times when you could

Eat fruits on the grass, laid down in the meadows

When there were animals everywhere in the forest

And how in the springtime the birds would come back

The worst part of this story is that we're slaves

  • In two or three moves, the story was over Tomorrow is not the eve of when we will reverse our direction We have even begun to foul the deserts You have to breathe And that's saying a lot You aren't going to die from laughing And that's saying a lot In a few years, the last leaf will have been gobbled up And your grandchildren, they'll only have one eye Right in the middle of their foreheads, they'll ask you Why you have two of them, and you'll be treated as a freak
  • Come here little one and listen to me

I'm going to tell you the story of the human being

In the beginning there was nothing, in the beginning all was good

Nature moved forward, there was no path

Then man arrived with his big shoes

Giving kicks to the face in order to get respect

One-way streets he began to draw

Arrows across the plain all spread out

And all the elements were under control

  • Original song from french artist "Mickey 3D".

Here's the english translation of the french lyrics (this will take a few comments regarding the 500-characters limitation) :
