The Igbo and Ijaw has had centuries of social, cultural and kinship bonds. The rare frustrated traducers in the margin of nonentity have been ignored or sometimes ostracized by the Ijaw themselves. they are the ones that sold Nigeria to the rest hence this half a century, extensive and monumental exploitation and suffering.

In the 16th century, individual Kalabari and associated coastal villages (mainly Izon(Ijaw) had raided each other for slaves. Agbaniye Ejika (Bi'le) - a fishing village - was known as the most distruptive and warlike. It got its slaves by sacking neighboring Ijaw villages. New Calabar (Kalabari) under the dynasty of King Amakiri (Igbo) and his hosts colonized other village groups and offered protection from the ravages of slave raiding in return for acknowledgment of Elem Kalabari's suzerainty.

The rise of Bonny in the late 17th and 18th centuries was based on creating ties with interior Igbo peoples, including Aro merchant warlords. Ibani (Ubani) principal men, who headed their own "canoe houses" under the paramountcy of one (often two) local kings, apparently first built their trade on connections with southern Igbo, in particular the Ndoki and Ngwa communities east of the middle Imo River. Founding king of Bonny was Asimini, an Ngwa-Igbo.

LOL Umuechem is an oil producing community but not a community of the Niger delta region. Umuechem is a community in Rivers state. Rivers state is not entirely a Niger delta state. Only parts of it are in the Niger Delta. the only state today that is wholly a Niger delta state is Bayelsa. Every Oil producing community is not a Niger delta community. You guys do it like Niger delta is synonimous to Oil production.

As part of the pre-war plot, Igboland in a devious balkanisation bid has been subjected to an attempted systematic fragmentation and problematic annexation by the Nigerian State - Ndoki are distributed between Abia, Akwa-Ibom and Rivers States; Egbema between Imo, Delta, Rivers and Bayelsa States, Anioma are in Delta, Ika in Delta and Edo, Izza Clan between Ebonyi, Cross River and Benue States and significant portion of Ikwo and Igala in Kogi. Opobo and Umu-Ubani (Bonny) are considerably Igbo.

LOL this fool . You don't even know the history of the ndoki people. Let them educate you. Do not mistake Ndoki to be Ngwas. The original Ndokis were a mixture of Igbo slaves and Nyakpo Ijaw slave traders. The major Ndoki town of Okoloma was founded by an Okrika chief who stationed his freed slaves who were Ngwas there. Their mingling with the Ogonis and other scattered Nyakpo Ijaws brought about the NDOKI people.
