hey craig...love your vids man! :) i would really like to know what make/model camera you use to film yourself? do you use the cameras built in mic? the sound and video quality is quite good. cheers! :)
Depends what ur playing and which setting the digitech has dialled in. To be honest if it sounds atmospheric it will be due to the delay and reverb rather than the whammy
What harmony setting were you using? I know my ear isn't that great. I like using my Whammy (with the thing set on a 3rd) with my Boss DS-1 right after it. It sounds kinda like a church organ, synth-like.
0.00 - 0.27 seconds its just my guitar clean, so no effects just straight into the amp. At about 0.28 seconds I turn on the whammy pedal, then turn it off again for the overdrive section
@craigmcarthur1 I finally understand now after actually being able to try out one at a local GuitarCenter. I was curious about the distorted sound after you turn it on, the squeekyish sound. But thanks!
@bigjonny02 I don't know exactly which one it is but it's a Pink Floyd poster with women having various album arts painted on them ie; one is the wall, and Dark Side
Oh not 100% on the exact model.. Its the most up-to-date, latest version. I bought it new from my local store about a year ago. So it isnt one of the original Tom Morello models
Unless you're local music/guitar shop has one used, you might just invest in a new one and know you're getting something that works well and is sturdy.
@craigmcarthur1 dude, if i have a boss me-20 and an acumulator just for it and i want to by a whammy pedal, do i need an acumulator for the whammy pedal too?or just the cable between the boss me-20 and the whammy pedal?
i had my whammy first and it sounded great but made my bad horsie wah sound thin. So now i have the wah first and whammy second. problem solved, and whammy still sounds great.
your digitech whammy is powered by an AC circut. and most of your others will be powered by a DC circut. i was in the middle of a show and heard something about some sports game. my frined said to move it to the front of my chain, and i have had no problems since. put all AC pedals before anything else that is powered by DC. i have put it back a few times and found out with the cables all put right, my Cry baby can actually dial in the signal, but thats only good fo fun. put the whammy 1st.
hi, ive just bought a whammy and it works perfectly when i playing in my garage but when i take it to band practice whith the exact same setup it make my amp make a lous hissing noise. do you know what could be worng with it. thanks
Technically that aint a les paul, its a Singlecut dude (really is just a Les Paul tho lol). Always liked Les Pauls, I like the scale length and neck profile. Plus humbuckers and a heavy mahogany body sounds awesome, great sustain and tone thru a good tube amp. Plus the look nice
Its great for bedroom playing. My tube amps r too loud for practicing at night at home, so the Line 6 is ideal. PLus its hassle free as it has all the effects u need built in for messing around.
Yeh radiohead kick ass! Love them. The PRS is nice. Really enjoy playing it. Its a heavy bitch tho! Played a few lenghty 3 hour functions with one of my bands with it and its like a trip to the gym!!
woaw, been a long time since you last posted something here dude. good to know you're still doing these demos! oh and by the way how's your record coming along??
Hey man. Yeh been busy of late!! The EP is done finally. We are just sorting ouut CD duplication and distribution at the moment, so houldnt be too long!

Can this pedal be used by inserting 9 volt batteries or does it need an adaptor?
gamecubedude03 1 year ago
It comes with a 9V adaptor which I think is necessary rather than batteries

I am fretting on the low end of the guitar neck and using the whammy pedal to add an octave higher to the sound

Its the high octave setting, just adds an octave to whatever you play
craigmcarthur1 1 year ago
@craigmcarthur1: It sounds really nice. I tried it with some delay added and it sounded really great.

Does anyone elses whammy pedal make a weird "studder-type" kind of sound when you play a chord on the 2 octave above setting?
CHEEZwhizSLURPIE 2 years ago
Yup, the tracking struggles when u play more than three notes in a chord, unless u play very staccato
craigmcarthur1 2 years ago
i had my whammy first and it sounded great but made my bad horsie wah sound thin. So now i have the wah first and whammy second. problem solved, and whammy still sounds great.
shredacuda 2 years ago
put the whammy at the very front of your chain... any pedals that go in front of that will fuck with the whammy and pretty much wreck its purpose.
cutthatcity111 2 years ago
great vid and tone man! what distortion are you using? is that a whammy IV or WH1?
cymbaline87 3 years ago
Just using my practice amp which is line 6 Flextone II. Using basic onboard overdrive from that amp. I believe it is a IV
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago

do you now how i can stop it

Errm, it might be goosed. Check you cables are ok. And check the power supply.
Easiest thing to do is just hook it up to someone elses amp and cables etc to rule out your stuff.
