Shirley and I are the same age! Whooppeee doooo!! I know how much I've learned in my lifetime and I imagine Shirley's learned a lot, too!. Her poor leg has been mangled by something or someone. My heart goes out to her as she looks so courageous and positive in spite of it all.
@reubensrose Whenever I think of Shirley, I wish so much her former caretaker - Solomon James, would come visit her. They have offered the opportunity to him, but he's never accepted. She would love it I'm sure, and it would probably be good for him to see her too, since it was his only job for so many years. He's the one who removed the chain from her leg when she arrived at the sanctuary . . . Make me cry to think of their relationship.
I would think the pine sap is bad for their stomach....
