  • roll em up

  • Its pimp but the family truckster was a crown victoria

  • I love it!!! I am a huge chevy chase fan and would drive this thing everywhere (when i could afford the fuel lol) Very cool car.

  • @illegalsmilereturns Thanks so much! the car was a blast to own. unfortunatly this past summer the motor let go. i tried to sell it but there were no takers and the local junk yard made me an offer, so off it went. there was just too much mechanical expense to keep her goin. it might still be there! go make em an offer! Thanks again!!

  • Where's the "honky lips"?

  • Comment removed

  • @tremer88 ya, i know it was a ford. but the car wasnt supposed to be a ford in the film was it, it was a made up car called the family queen truckster. my car was just built for fun, i owned the car stock for several years.

  • @hotrodtiki200 yeah sorry to have you shit, alot of people already have, but you did a fantastic job on it. love it

  • Great job, man!!!!

  • Excellent Job man dont listen to the neagative waves...........

  • I think that you got the "spirit" of the original, but your time and money were wasted on a vehicle of the wrong brand.

  • @nonamenoname8 Thanks,,good luck building yours. hows it coming?

  • @hotrodtiki200 Hehehe that was good. Great job! So what if it's not the exact vehicle. There's a lot of Ectomobiles out there that are a different make and model. What matters is that you have a great looking tribute to the films <3 Awesome work.

  • @hotrodtiki200 good job on the car, all u need to do is make ur trip to wally world, u never know u might meet christine brinkley hehe

  • I think that you got the "spirit" of the original, but your time and money were wasted on a vehicle of the wrong brand.

  • Nice job. At first, with the Ford LTD taillights I thought that is familiar. Then I realized its actually a Buick or Oldsmobile.

Still, alot of work. Looks good.

A grand replica to a great movie.

  • Top Notch Work! This is the coolest thing I have seen someone make just for fun!

  • Holy shit, is that real simulated wood vinyl paneling on the sides ?You can't find that these days, no sir.

  • Didn't see those great rims-did you have a little trouble in St. Louis? LOL

  • the thing is...I can get you that car but it might take 6 weeks...

  • mate...that is the best car replica I ever saw...you are a genius dude

  • My dream car! Was it difficult to make? the grill and the cover for the back windows would have been the most difficult I imagine. I have my heart set on building one. Great job!

  • @stationwagonfreak It really wasnt that difficult and as you can see its not an exact replica of the film car, certain areas were simplified to get the effect but make building it easier. Thanks! and good luck on your build!

  • even the gas door on the hood, very good !!

  • LoL you bought it from chevy chase, didn't you?

  • Is this your idea of a vacation?

    DOG KILLER!!!!

  • Watch those freeways!

  • is the scene in vacation when they're merging onto the highway leaving for wally world just after the kids put their headphones on the same footage from the beginning of married with children? different cars surround it in married with children but it's the same highway and it looks an awful lot like the truckster. maybe not but check it out.

  • does it have the CB radio with optinal rally fun pack?

  • Interesting that you used a Chevy (or some other GM wagon) for this instead of the Ford wagon used by the Griswolds. However, with the LTD headlights and taillights most people wouldn't know the difference. Good job.

  • @59squire Thanks, the car wasnt bought to be turned into the truckster at first. it was bought as a work car, and then i changed it into a truckster when i stopped using it as a work car. It was built strictly for fun, not as an exact replica to the movie car. Thanks!

  • The model of the family truckster in the movie is known as the "Wagon Queen". I think the design is based upon a Ford Crown Victoria or a Mercyry Grand Marquis. Very very similar looking.

  • the original on the movie was a 1979 ford country squire not a chevy

  • more ugly on that car than a Nicole Richie photo album

  • the original was a ford not a chevy

  • This car can kick any of today's Japanese Junk Cars ass, hands down!

  • you think you hate it now wait til you drive it

  • ed, this is not the car i ordered. lol great work man.

  • All this work and they did not used a ford? this is still awsome

  • Heh, reminds me of the Dodge Caliber.

  • That car is amazing! Thanks for reminding me of what a great series of movies the Vacation series was.

  • It's glorious!

  • Did they really sold that car

  • Amazing! You somehow made a Chevy Caprice wagon look like a Ford Country Squire! Cool!!!

  • its painted metallic pee too!!! sweet

  • You got to paint "honkey lips" on the side LOL

  • As cousin Eddie would say, "Reeeeeeeeal Niiiice!" Great work.

  • It's actually the Wagon Queen Family Truckster. Nice job on it, and nice greenwalls!!

  • LMFAO!!!

  • I'll take TWO!

Car like this needs a backup. ;')

  • you think you hate it now, but wait 'til you drive it!

  • That is sweet.

  • HAha looks so goofy, but cool to im confused lol. Great car nice vid loved that film.

  • i thought we were getting the little sports thing

  • She's a Beaut, Clark!

  • I think the headlights from the film are of a Cadillac from the 80s^^

  • I want my antarctic blue super sports wagon.

  • HEY !! That car is still in it's crate !

  • So how was Wally World?

  • Great job!

  • I would assume Metallic Peat.

  • too bad it isn't a Ford like the real one

  • Its a Chevy Caprice wagon........just modified thats all

  • the family truckster was not based on a caprice, but off of a 78 ford boat

  • @tremer88 Wrong. It was a 1983 Ford Country Squire .

  • I love the crown

  • Titanic!

    LOL GREAT!

  • awesome! even down to the details

  • I remember seein this generic Ford Crown Victoria Station Wagon on 1 of The Nation Lampoon Vacation movies

  • Awesome! definitely worth more than 5k views.

  • i bet if you put that on ebay, you'd make a fortune.

  • I hate it already, LOL. Did you do all of the work yourself?

  • Thanks!,,yes, i did all the work on it myself.

  • gimme gimme gimme!!!

  • What an awesome car, I would love to own it!

  • is it for sale?

  • no, sorry,,its not for sale at this time.

  • wrong color paint on the body

  • as ive posted before,,its not an exact replica,,it was just built for fun. these cars are cheap to buy,,i encourage people to build there own.

  • "Holiday Roooooooooooooooooooad. Holiday Rooooooooooooad."

  • this cars owner is ......clark w. griswold

  • I thought they used a Crown Vic Country Squire wagon???

  • they used a ford,,yes. mine was built purely for fun,,,its not an exact replica.

  • even though the real car was built from a Ford, this is a nice replica that looks good

  • Is that a caprice?

  • no,,it built from a pontiac.

  • The final touch: spray paint "honky lips" on the side. LOL. I want one of these too!

  • That is absolutely hideous.

And by "hideous", I mean "awesome"! I love that movie!

  • very nice work!, how many road trips have you and your familiy been in it, have you gone for a trip across country to wally world yet ;-)

  • Thanks! we have gone on several camping trips with it and its always an attention getter. we have thought about driving it across country,,kinda retrace the griswolds trip,,but its not exactly easy on gas. thanks again!

  • I miss big station wagons, I'm sick of mini vans

  • no dog leash on the bumper? wheres aunt edna!!! very funny

  • LOL yeah there should be a dog leash trailing off that bumper and a corpse on the roof. My GOD that is an ugly vehicle!!

  • Nice... Bet you get alot of attention driving it

  • This looks like a Chevrolet. Wasnt the original a Ford LTD?

  • actually its a pontiac safari wagon,,and yes the original one was built from a ford. i didnt set out to build a truckster, the car was a work car that kinda just evolved. its not a clone of the movie car either, rather a tribute car. its a lot of fun though.

  • Very nice work!

  • holiday road!

  • how does it cool it's engine?!

  • actually it didnt affect cooling at all,,the bumper was dropped abit to clear the extra headlights, so theres a lot of open area under the custom front. the two cut outs function as well. thanks

  • Where's the greenwalls?

  • You think you hate it now, but wait'll you drive it.

  • i don't wanna drive it i just want my old car back.

  • Looks good!
