I am using a desktop effect in Ubuntu that increases my productivity greatly. I have the equivalent of four monitors on one 15.4” widescreen anti-glare screen (1280x800). I did not spend a penny on my "four" monitors.
you could, One monitor connecting to VGA port and the other one in the HDMI port. you probably don't have a cable for HDMI but you can just buy a cable for it (i.e. a DVI-D to HDMI cable)
Hmm... I'd get three 30" Apple Cinema Displays! It'd be a triple-monitor display!! Three times the power, three times the fun!!! lol that'd be a lot of money. :)
If you install a second graphics card into your Mac Pro, you can add another 2 monitors. The Mac Pro is built so that you can install 4 graphics cards and have up to eight 30" monitors, which is crazy. But you can do it.
It's not crazy...it's EPIC! =D lol Honestly I'd never have the kind of money to do that but it'd be pretty awesome if I could. I would have to be a super hero or villain though and have an underground lair haha. It'd be my HQ with a bunch of high-tech stuff. Yes I'm geeky like that. =P
people have bitched about desk space as a reason to get an lcd over crt, so they get one, yet they buy a huge Atx tower with inefficient power draining cpus and video cards, instead of a powerful and energy efficient mini pc to go with it! real fkn smart people!
I have a HP w2207 22", and yesterday i bought another HP w2207 22", Am thinking its going to be amazing. because amma 3d designer. and hopefully it will give me a hella lot more space to work. but yeah :D
i would prefer the 2 monitors because you can angle the two of them towards you allowing you to see more of each screen... plus 2 screens are fun fun fun

Apple Cinema Displays are the best around. Only buy other brands if your not bothered about colours and sharpness. We used a Samsung HD monitor and it blurred everything. Apple is the future not just the now!
Hey, how do you play Full 3d games on a dual display setup? sometimes the mouse isn't locked on one monitor so i always accidentally minimize the game.
I have dual 17inch monitors by Octigen and the power consumption is awesome compared to my cousins 24inch singular i prefer two monitors to 1 graphics card it looks more awesome :P

you couldnt do that without those maxtor things.
popgames 3 years ago
So wait you're saying you can't have a tri-monitor display like that with Apple Cinema monitors? That's kinda sad. You can dual though right?
RoundHouseFrenzy 3 years ago
depends what computer you have, but usually yes. if you have laptop though you'll probably have to get maxxtor dual head to go.
popgames 3 years ago
I have a MacPro with only one Apple 30" HD Display monitor but I just thought it would be pretty nice to have triple-display with two others.

That big monitors are good for watching a movie, but rather unnecessary power-consuming for most other uses. I use a 20" LCD-monitor.
