omg i seen him act in a bunch of stuff and i couldn't remember the name of this show! i use to watch this all the time it's been about 15 years since i seen this
I used to miss SCTV so much that I would watch this show and Camp Candy just to remind myself of SCTV. Ed Grimly cartoon was actually ok to watch, lol.
I remember watching SCTV when I was a kid. It was funny then, and it is still funny. Ed Grimley, Count Floyd, Uncle Buck......etc. Thanks for posting. For bringing back the laughs and memories.
Let's not forget that John Zacherle had a run as a kid's show host - presiding over "Mighty Hercules" cartoons on WPIX (Channel 11) in New York in 1963. Not to mention his hosting the music dance show "Disc-O-Teen" on WNJU (Channel 47) in Newark, NJ from the station's 1965 launch up to 1967. All done in his horror-host "Zacherley" persona. So this isn't all that off the mark in that context.
Hey everyone! Independent film makers Zack Zortman and Steve Kane here. Check out our newly released comedy, Colonial Commandments. Its the story of a psycho wannabe Revolutionary War colonel who terrorizes a college student. Simply type Colonial Commandments in on your Youtube searchbar and hit enter. The film is broken into 5 parts so be sure to watch them all! We appreciate everyones support and please let us know what you think! Were simply trying to advertise here. No harm.
@AnnaFavela Well it does exist, its called Cartoon Network the deal is that great cartoons like ed grimly... down with Droopy D etc etc etc were taken off thats the sad part and to tell you the truth those caroons were awsome
The basic idea for this character, sketch and set had to be inspired by The Hilarious House of Frightenstein, especialy since most comedians in SCTV were Canadians. Hell Eugene Levy and Andrea Martin even did a movie with Fishka Rais aka Igor from HHOF.
Joe Flaherty got the idea of Monster Chiller Horror Theater from a local show called Chiller Theater in his hometown of Pittsburgh. Funny I never heard him ever mention a Frightenstein reference? Tho alot of of SCTV's material satirized local Canadian(and some American) TV.
@fltrking The back-story is that he's really Floyd Robertson, the regular anchor of SCTV News. In the 50s local news anchors often had to also handle roles on other station programs as well, which they may not have wanted to do, or actually been suited for. Count Floyd was created as a nod to that era. The implication with him is that he doesn't know much about the horror genre, or tailoring his performance for kids, and was improving as he went.
does anyone know where to find the sixteenth (16) episode from season 3? my class is doing 1984 and, being the episode that pokes fun at it, i wanted to find it.
Loved this cartoon and the Count Floyd segments--kinda like Fat Albert and the Brown Hornet. Who else here totally despised Legal Eagle?
