@charalambous94 If you're using the "black magic" disk speed test app then it does say that now because they updated it a few months ago and now it displays the wrong speed. Also make sure that TRIM is enabled, google it if you don't know what it is
@charalambous94 I can't give you a direct link to instructions on how to do it but just search how to enable trim on google. To see if it's already enabled go into system preferences where the tech specs are and then serial ata then it should say somewhere on there
@charalambous94 No, i backed up my old hard drive using time machine and installed the SSD, then installed lion and restored from backup. if you clone to an SSD you won't get the full speed. thats why i did it that way :)
Did you have to tweak any settings to get read and write speeds like that? I just installed the same drive into my 2011 Macbook Pro (2.2 GHz i7) and I'm topping out at around 200 MB/s read and write.
@cbmfo are you using the app from the app store to check it? Black magic I think it's called, they updated it and now it doesn't say the speed correctly. also go into system preferences and check that trim is enabled, if it isn't search google on how to enable it because the SSD will be faster and will last longer with it enabled.
@HRodMusic yeah it should be fine, if its this years model it'll have SATA III which is needed to get faster speeds with this ssd, but older mbp's only have SATA II and this ssd won't reach its full speed.
Ok I found that nothing is wrong :)
After couple resets of mac (about 10 resets)
SSD is working like it should.

@charalambous94
I have the same problem. TRIM is enabled.
In Speed test is slow: 140 write, 210 read.
Shout down takes 2s, boot up takes about 45-60s.
I have the same SSD in Macbook Pro 13 late 2011.
How can I solve the problem?

does the macbook pro 13 has sata3??

@charalambous94 Yeah it's sata 3 :)

Damn, I really need to ugrade my Apple SSD in my MBP. It's fast enough, but it only scores 150MB/s write, and 200MB/s read.
2 Crucial M4 in RAID 0 would be even more awesome though. :)
nformby 3 months ago
@nformby Yeah :) that'll be fast :)

TRIM is enabled. Looks like using the blackmagic app from the app store is the problem. Thanks for clearing that up.
cbmfo 4 months ago
@cbmfo If it boots in less than 20 seconds it's fine, should be around the same speed as mine (about 15 seconds) but yours should be slightly faster
