  • Classic stuff! Big fan!

  • Show some respect you bunch of fucking tards. Brandon was in two of the most influential post-punk bands of the 80s. How many of you have played live to 1000s of people and released albums? Fucking wankers.

  • What on earth, this is just noise. The Jam is de best !

  • who gives a fuck if he was gay theatre of hate was fucking rocking on in the day !! i was glad i was there to say i saw them many times and fucking loved them !!

  • Hahaha, good sense of humour as well as a classic artist.....some of the best music I grew up with

  • So, he's the one that had a fling with Boy George.... Ahhhhh, those were the days, then Jon Moss came along and George was happy again, albeit for a little while....

  • So in a matter of 10 years Kirk Brandon went from punk originator and innovator to whatever the fuck this is supposed to be. Sorry man, but you definitely are a fucking nancy.

  • This was the first band I ever saw back in the 80s. Great at the time. This is a bit shit though.

  • Love it,always were a good band

  • seen soD ROUNDABOUt 80 times over yeaRZ,,had the pleASURE TO Support theM THRee timeS AT THE Rigger newcASTLE UNDER LYME,,,,TOPBAndtoptUNE,,,,GET WELL Soooon kirK XXXX

  • He looks like James Dean when silent.. but sounds like Joe Brown when he talks..

    Still.. he's a good frontman..

  • saw them last summer, and going to see them this Friday in York

  • Saw these support U2 at Milton Keynes in 85....was that fucking blown away by them i went and bought their albums and then saw them in their own right!.....Brilliant!

  • Bullybass I luv ya!!!

Adrenalin rush listening to this remembering all the times I got kicked to fuck dancing to this at the front!! Lol Brandon remains a hero

  • Brilliant, although I had forgotten how crap the sound always was on the Tube! Backing singer is twice as loud as Kirk. Still one of their best tracks and cool as fuck after all these years!

  • All of you Boy George marks had better stop now, gay is the word YOU should be worried about....play on KIRK!

  • to lavcsouth - hey fella - he was basically refering to rumours of a gay affair with a certain "pop star" and the fact he wore bundeswa ( forgive the spelling) vests which were basically german and contained a german sign within its logo - he's a cool guy who ive been lucky enough to spend time with - what he said would not have been mellicious - hope that helps lol

  • fantastic live band!

  • I think that nowadays nobody can say that George and Kirk were not together some time. It´s so crear. There are also pictures. Beautiful ones. And Kirk looked so happy. And George is such a credible person. Always. Love them both!

  • this is much better than those awful homealone films he made in the 80s

  • @unclepunkle HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Kirk Brandon needs to learn how to be classy like Jon Moss who acknowledges a relationship with George. Just because you once had a relationship with another guy 30 years ago doesn't mean you are 100% gay or take away from your current heterosexual marriage. Everyone around them knew George and Kirk had an affair.

  • @fiona333 Totally agree with ya!

  • @MABiO1001 me too.

  • THERE STILL BLOODY GREAT LIVE

  • brandon was joking on this video, the whole gay thing was all put out by boy george, there were no witnesses to this so called affair between boy george and kirk brandon, I am sure if they were at it, somebody else would have at least been aware of it. boy george was heroin addict and was sent to jail for imprisoning a male escort, boy george is hardly a credible person, I would not believe a word that boy george says

  • YES GAY DAFT ARSE!

  • What difference does it make if is, or was gay? Great band - remember them well

  • Not Gay? He is a big old Jessy. Him & Boy George were shagging like rabbits.

  • A homophobe is a closeted-homosexual.

  • Suddenly made famous (again?) by BBC's Worried about the Boy.

    Still don't remember him.

  • superb band with brillant tunes

  • great memories, saw them quite a few times,

  • Stans comin over to London from Philly this week so look out for his shows.

  • aye SOD gave it the bollocks in aberdeen in the 80s

  • S.O.D were amazing live during this period, great nights at the barrowland they always gave 100%.

  • Class

  • a tune to freak out to. turn it up with loads of bass on. beware, can bring on road rage if driving and listening. got this on 12 " Superb.

  • Kirk! why are you back? The legend is dead ...

  • Wasnt Kirk involved in a gay row with Boy George....

  • Yes, him and Boy George were boyfriends!

  • Wow i used to listen and dance(moshpit) years ago still as good. Slightly better when drunk!! jules

  • not gay not a nazi...I had some mad promo with an interview wi kirk comparing him with the 'nazi' aspect of new order/joy division type bollox ooh you look like bernard sumner keks an shirt blah blah fookin nazi fashion police ..did I have original sin toh and westworld sod a side/bside12inch ...or vis versa tell me not sure

  • @firingupfiringoff the 12 inch you mention is The Senate which was Kirk Brandon and Rusty Egan basically redoin original sin with a TOH westworld on b side.. Rusty Egan was big on the Blitz early new romantic scene -mates with visage etc.

  • @ cloughjordan

Rusty Egan was more than mates with Visage he was their drummer,he also drummed with the Rich kids (first punk supergroup) the skids and even the Misfits for a bit.he was involved in the new romantic scene as he owned 'the cage' which at the time was the only new romantic record store.

  • saw Spear quiet a few times mainly at city hall sheffield

lets be honest if you were a gig goer during the late 70s to mid 80s these really were f---in brilliant allways.

put loads of bands from the same period to shame

  • Went to see them last night at rock city great gig! despite my promise to stay away from moshing I wake up today with a sore throat, a black eye and partial deafness!! just like the old days. good one kirk

  • Happy days ! Massive spear fan , just discovered computer !

  • Kirk Brandon has got to be the most underestimated musician of all time. Nobody even comes close to his unique vocals and SOD really should have had much more success. Thanks again Jim for uploading these.

  • I remember Gordon Henderson (Lenzie) just giving it all for this...;-)

  • Spear are fantastic, I'm proud to be named after Kirk Brandon, he's a great bloke in person too. I'm a bit behind all this but I've seen them a few times since Loadestone came out - they were my first gig too. It's great to see a video of Liberator from the times when they still used the sax. Such an awesome song

  • Excellent Band - I saw them at St Gearges Hall Bradford and Leeds Uni both gigs in 1985

  • I was there at St Georges Bradford too - nice 1!!

  • Spear of Destiny where the first band I ever saw, Leeds November 1988. Still have the T-shirt somwhere.

  • September Spear of Destiny "Singles" Tour - do up your quiff and get your moshing shoes on: 10th-The Charlotte -- Leicester 11th-Academy- London 12th-Academy-Oxford 14th-Rios-Leeds 16th-Academy-Birmingham 17th-Academy-Bristol 18th-Corporation-Sheffield 19th-Concorde 2-Brighton 23rd-Academy-Liverpool 25th-Academy-Manchester 27th-Barfly-Glasgow 28th-Cabaret Voltaire-Edinburgh
  • brilliant stuff

i used to go and see spear at hanley victoria halls

    glorious gigs

and this song is fucking class

  • Oh, and one more memory just came back to me. I used to play this in my room all the time. Finally my Mum walks in thinking the chorus was "I'LL IMMIGRATE!", and tells me to get it over with and leave the country... So I did.

  • Oh this makes me happy! I watched this on Channel 4 when I was young and had hair! When you think about the other music from the same period, Spear of Destiny remain grossly under rated.

  • they WERE the best !

  • happy days !!

  • the real stuff. i cant belive .how much stuff came from this band... and how no one gives them credit.(or enough credit) man we used to go fooking mental to this.. i still do but i tend to break my bones easily,, yarff
