  • There's three colors on the finished product and in the video it only showed you using two?

  • @KatimarrrieVI

Third colour starts at 2:49 ...

  • Loving the Panic too :)

  • days or hours in the bag? i think 5 days is too much time

  • @KIBAFIRSTFAN

You can go as little as 12 hours... or minutes if you add heat.

I like to go three days mostly...

5 days can be tough to go, but I have often let them sit that long too... LOL.

  • Very helpful thanks alot dude :)

  • thanks for all your tie dye videos! I love them!! they are really helpful and very precise! thanks so much! haha and the way you swirl the fabric by going around the table is kinda funny hahaa..

  • FANTASTIC ! my son's friends are into tye dye~but i never was so i never learned how to do it. your video showed me how to get those looks he & his friends love and now i can teach them how to make shirts with the colors that they want! i watched other videos but yours showed me how to put on the dye to get those looks! thank you very much!

  • Thank you SOOOO much for posting this video!!! I have about 25 shirts I need to tie dye for our fun day at school and I knew I wanted to do the swirl design, but didn't realize there were so many techniques. I love how you posted all 4 techniques and the results on one video. Now I can get started. Great job!!!

  • muito bom

  • @WolfEchoes thanks for all your help,, best tie die videos on tube.. i've done 8 shirts now,6 kinda your way 2 experimental my way, lets not talk about those haha.i tried 3 as circles 3 as a mix of stripes and wedges or fill in. the circles came out to white so i did them again as stripes and fills they are cool now probably the best ones.the 3 i did as stripes and fills came out good to start with..any idea why circles were to white.

  • Thanks for the tips! It's so hard to find good ideas! Your shirts are amazing, I'll let you know how mine turn out. Thanks, man,

  • how did you get them to stick in a circle without any string or rubberbands?

  • @Emarie083

I did tie them... I just did not show that in the video. But they have string around the center holding them in the circle.

  • @Emarie083 If you are very careful you can get them to stay in the circle without bands or string, but you risk the chance of it becoming unfolded. I've made quite a few shirts without tying them that turned out great though.

  • mine stops at 3:07

  • WERE DO U GET THE DYE

  • @youyoujim1 Amazon, or Walmart I guess...

  • @youyoujim1

If you go on that FaceBook group, there are some links to other places as well...

  • @youyoujim1 a store like walmart

  • Hey man just want to say thanks for all of the cool tie dye videos. You've inspired me to go out and get the supplies, would go now but it's snowing too hard. Tomorrow for sure! Think I'm gonna do like 4 shirts and a banner.

  • what kind of dye do you use?

would rit also do the trick?

  • @pdga3791

RIT will work - but you will get brighter and nicer finished results with a higher end dye.

These are PROCION MX dyes... same as Dharma or Greatful dyes out of the USA.

The patterns all work, no matter what dye.

Try to find these ones if you can...

  • @WolfEchoes Do you pre-wash your shirts? Please reply, Thank you!

  • @chewbacawaka

I do pre-wash, yes. I also add a touch of Soda Ash and leave them damp for dying.

Some people use an agent when they wash the shirts - I just use soap.

  • @WolfEchoes I made about 7 shirts today. After I rinse, and wash do I throw all of them in the washing machine?

  • @chewbacawaka

Hey! Too late by now... but that is what I do.

Once set and then rinsed nicely, I toss in the cold wash, just a bit of soap...

If you do notice some transfer of color, it means they were not quite set enough... but always color comes out in the rinse, as there is always excess.

  • @WolfEchoes Nah, it came out perfect! Thanks for replying tho! Better late then never haha

  • tie dye is so freaking cool thanks for this bro

  • Very cool video, very helpful, thanks a million. :)

  • Very good.

  • you do not have to soak it for 10 - 30 ,om in a stainless steel sink w/ salt /color powder ? that is what mine told me to do..... its soaked up as I am doing and watching this video.... gee I hope mine comes out cool like yours.

I am tie dying my old concert tee short. I hope image wont get affected ?

  • Those came out WAY better than I expected them to! WOW!

  • My gosh, your dye colors are beautiful. I had done some tie dye once, it was in a kit, and I really was just testing the waters with it, but the colors are all like neon-iish and I much prefer more natural looking colors. Yours are astonding. :)

  • I only have one color... do you guys think it will look good?

  • @HibiscusRita

    It will look fine.

You have a few options, but all should look good.

Some people like one colour dyes more than the wilder ones.

You can always add a colour later for a different effect.

  • I have a question, after i tdye the shirts and thy are already dry, if i want to wash the shirts, what can i do? i dont want the t-shirts fade.

  • @sophiemaklentire

    Hopefully your dye set well...

You just wash in normal, cold water = no bleach.

If you are having dye set problems, that can often be adjusted with your mix.

(Add more salt, or concentrate the dye more, or leave the shirt longer before rinse...).

Hang dry if you want, just treat as a delicate more or less...

  • thanks!!

  • woo! woo! thank you!

  • LOVE the circles!

I will try that some time!

  • Do you thicken your dye? Thanks for sharing your talent and knowledge!

  • I did the stripes and fill ins and it work really well and came out good!

  • hey i used this video to help me with my first tie dye, was really helpful and the result was just as i wanted.. very happy thanks

  • is that a special color? nice video :)

  • i loved the wedge. im gonna use the wedge on a shirt that im doing

    thanks so much!!

  • Batching for 5 days is ricockulous. The reaction of fiber reactive dyes id pretty much exhausted in 8 hours!!!

  • I like your tie dye videos(: Im about to do my whole room like this(:

I was wondering... Who sings the song? I know what the song is but it sounds VERY much like widespread panic.(: I would love to know(: OOPS, maybe I should have watched this all the way through ha. They are my favorite band(:

  • @DNickBowToriaFilms

    Hi

I believe that was Widespread Panic - from one of the Bonarroo shows.

    Great band!

  • Thank you so much! It was great to see how they would turn out before I did them myself! I think I like the wedge the best :) Great video!

  • This is a great video. Thanks for taking the time to show us!

  • what is the dye called

  • @green2346

These dyes are Procion MX dye.

Very nice for cotton material. Best dyes I have used (so far).

  • do you wet the shirts before using the dye on it? or is the dye mixed with water, so it's not needed?

  • I do have the shirts damp to start. It breaks that surface tension and allows the dye to sink in easily.

Usually spin dry in the wash is how wet they are to start...

The dye is mixed with water also...

  • Man.. now I gotta hear Stevie's version ;)

  • thanks for posting this!

  • hola! que buen tutorial! oye y que tintas usas esque aca en mexico no consigo una que le dure la tinta, siempre se deslva. saludos.

  • I speak no Spanish, but: I think you can try to get dye mail ordered to you. Canada or USA has places to get the dye. Try fruit and seed juices too.

(Creo que se puede tratar de obtener el correo tinte ordenó a usted. Canadá o EE.UU. tiene lugares para obtener el tinte. Trate de jugos de frutas y semillas también). - rough translation.

  • Thank you so much, this is exactly what I was looking for. Love the song too. Take care and thanks again. =)

  • good

  • what sort of dye do you use?

  • These ones are PROCION MX... similar to DHARMA Dyes. These are a high end dye.

RIT or DYLON or other dyes will also work, but the high end dyes give the best results.

  • Nice! Thanks for breaking some of this down...

  • Thanks for the info!!!

  • what kind of dye do use and where i can buy that. im really excited to try that soon, tnx

  • procion mx dyes...

I get mine in Canada at Maiwa Handprints (you can find them online).

  • tnx for the info it helps me a lot. i will try it.

  • Thanks so much for posting your videos! They are really helpful, and I love the musical selections!

  • When washing multiple shirts of different colors do you wash them individualy or is it ok to throw them all in the washer together?

  • When you dye your t-shirts do you start out with them dry or wet?

  • My shirts are slightly damp, often run through the rinse cycle and spun dry... then tied up and used.

  • thanks i thought i'd give tie dye a try; it looks really fun. thanks for the quick response!

  • Nice!! I really like the wedge. Thanks for posting!! You videos are awesome!!

  • the wedge or pizza slices-what i call them :D

is the only one that came out solid, thats the only way i do it when im tie dying a spiral,

  • i like them all were do you get the dye and deos in come in those botttles ??

how much deos it cost ??

  • These are PROCION MX dyes... search Maiwa Handprints (but oither dyes are available out there).

Depending on the dye, it can cost you anywhere from $5 to $40 to make three adult shirts...

  • The liitle bottles you should find at a craft store, or an art supply - or maybe Walmart in the crafts.

  • the wedge looks so kool, im deff going to use technique for sure
