hi all where can i get parts for this model . the power surply board in side its 110 volts but it was pluged in to 240volts in the uk yes fryed tranformer on the board the leads ars the same usa. an the uk great brittan love to get it going again
HD Fm my ass. HD AM sounds good, but HD FM aint cd quality and it aint mp3 quality either. They have to increase the bitrate. No wonder HD Fm never took off like HD TV.
While HD Radio can provide near CD quality sound, I think the ability to "multicast" and add subchannels with different formats is a much more important feature. HD sounds better than satellite, but there aren't many complaints about the compression used on Satellite radio channels. It's the format choices that matter more than the sound quality of those channels. HD FM stations can currently provide up to three distinct formats on each frequency, with no monthly fees required to hear them.
HD Radio makes it possible to hear all your favorite commercials in CD quality until you travel out of signal range. No way is my new Beamer gonna have one of these. They'll laugh me out of the hood.
HD radio is just another ploy to get customers to go back to the sad truth of short distance signals! I don't have an HD radio and never will. If im not mistaken hd radio has about the same distance signal wise as regular fm/am radio. Also when it came out hd radio was commercial free, but when they phase regular radio out it will most likely have commercials, where as satellite will never have commercials on their music channels. Plus sat is coast to coast
First off. let me say that i was in the same group you were. I recently decided to buy an hd tuner for my car. I was very skeptical, but once i gave it a try, I have changed my mind. FM sounded great, but AM, in a local listening environment was amazing in my car. Very clear, no static or back round noise and stereo. WJR and 910 (a music station here in Detroit) sounded amazing! I think if you gave it a try, especially in your car, you may change your mind.
I still think a High Quality analog am stereo broadcast sounds better (I use a Carver TX-11a which has the same freq. response as FM on the AM Side), but lets face it, no one has those high quality receivers anymore (as much as i wish they did). Anyways, give it a try in your car, then make a judgment. I know i was initially wrong.
nobody gives a shit, radio wont exist except in guato neighborhoods
