"MMA" was practiced in ancient Greece, later on the Slavic tribes that lived in Byzantium, following the Byzantine empire's collapse, mixed it with their folk wrestling, later on some dude combined it with Judo and some Shuia Jiao and called it Sambo, there is even a theory, that all Sambo is, is the modern variant of ancient Greek Pankration.
MMA is just a modern catch phrase. If someone used a club and a knife, you coudl technically call that MMA, or a club and open hand. If you want to go that route then MMA is the first martial art lol. Let's not get tied up in stupid technicalities.
kung fu is good for what its good for. it just takes to long for me, and there's too many side-tracks before you can defend yourself.
i don't think its for this day and time.
but i'm glad the ancient stuff is around.
